Only now I'm older am i even starting to appreciate how much hard work, devotion and pain goes into a dancers art. They are supremely strong and athletic.
I am a a dancer, and have been my whole life. Nobody seems to understand how tough dance is. For example, we can leap as high as any pro athlete but we have to land gracefully and without a sound. This video does a beautiful job portraying the challenges that comes along with dance. Great video :)
Love that first quote; A ballerina masks her strength with beauty, yet undeniably, it's still there. It's so true and is so powerful in the way that it inspires young dancers. Keep dancing girls, you're amazing xx
I'm getting on in years now but realise what these girls must go through to get to this level, and she can still smile whilst performing. My ambition before my years are over is to see a real live ballet. The highest level of grace.
It’s called “A Beautiful Strength”. It’s an Anaheim Ballet original. It was available on iTunes back in 2009. I’m not sure if it still is. I bought it back then, and now it’s permanently in my musical library .
Dear anaheim ballet, 2 years ago, I discovered your videos. There was a ballet audition in my town for a ballet studio, and I didn't want to go because I thought I wasn't good enough. An hour before the audition, I watched your videos. And guess what? I went to the audition and I got in. And now, ballet is my everything.YOU CHANGED MY LIFE. Sincerily, a ballerina
Honestly, i love this video. I watch this video everytime when i wanna give up/ when i need modivation. Ballet is something i wish i did as a child and this inspires me & modivates me everytime
Graceful, elegant, beautiful, charming, inspiring, clean, I truly can go on describing what i see... I'm from the projects, a real hood dude, I never really paid attention to ballet, i was just surfing youtube came across this. Nice job.
Ballet means everything to me. I can feel pain in my feet, have blister or even feel exausted, but when I dance, I feel like there is only me, my ballet shoes and the music in the world. Some people say that the dance is good for nothing, and the ballerinas are girls that don't have anything else to do. But the point is that ballet it is not easy. To improve a little bit, you have to train for hours and hours. For me, ballet is something that you can't find words to describe, it is very special.
Even as a young tech artist I have always enjoyed the balance of beauty, strength, and soft-flow a ballerina floats onto the stage. Emotions of excitement, thoughts of the long-dedication she/he endured to be the focal-point. It is truly a special art form within it's own right. In all my years of international travel and working in production, I admire the formulation of the ballet!!! I have been pondering a new kind of video game with a ballerina animation in it. Thanks for the video.
I have been doing ballet since i was 4 and only just in the past two years got on to point, i am now on my 2nd grade in point and you have no idea and phyisically demanding it is, I spent five hours in the studio on friday trying to do seven turns, doing over and over again and still haven't done it. But for anyone who wants to do it, I would say go for it you are never too old and it is soooo rewarding
What I love about your videos, is that not only do they show people with incredible talent, but they also show ballerinas who aren't ridiculously skinny and who genuinely love to dance. That's what's beautiful about Anaheim dancers, they're happy AND healthy
This is such a beautiful piece of music and ballet IS the most beautiful strength!!!! Anyone who persue their dream came become a great dancer. Love it!:)
I showed this video to my class for my ballet project, i choose this one because it shows the true beauty and strength in ballet and its not just girls prancing around in little tutus, I agree with SwanSisters with everything she said and expessaly when she said" They need to learn to respect ballet.Ballerinas are stronger than them."
I love watching ballet, each christmas my nan would take me to see the nutcraker, and it was alway the high light of my holiday. I wish i could poses a sixth of your grace, beauty, and strength. I have so much respect for anone brave anothe to take up ballet, because i was always so scarred...xxx
I'm 33 years old and just started dancing ballet 2 months ago. It is sooo wonderful. Of course I am not going to be a ballerina, but still, I enjoy it to my bones! Serena, start dancing!! =) Anyway, I really opened the comments to say that I never realised before I started ballet, that lifting a leg required such a strength! You see the dancers do it and think how agile (?) they are, but never do you notice the strength they have. Having started dancing, I am even more impressed by them/you!
This is one of my favorite Anaheim Ballet videos. I particularly like the part at the end where the curtain goes up and all the ballerinas are already on pointe. Beautiful. It finishes off a stunning video so nicely.
You are never too old to start ballet. When I slim up (hopefully by next year) I plan on starting ballet and I'll be 16. If you really want to do it, then do it. Because you only get to live once, so don't let anybody tell you you can't.
I started as a bboy, and hip-hop dancer. but I'm slowly getting into ballet now... And as a straight guy, I can say there's nothing wrong at all in appreciating such a beautiful dance!
Don't let that stop you!! I started ballet when I was 13, and I was big-boned, overweight and clumsy. I've lost some weight with ballet, and I've improved so much int he 5 years I've been doing it. If you want to dance, then dance!
I wanted to be a ballerina since I was 5 years old, but never had the chance to learn it. Now, almost 40 years later, I know, how much work, dedication and also physical pain goes with it, to look as etherial, light and easy as this. Today I know, I´d never made it that far. But I still wish i had had the chance. So I just keep coming back, watching these beautiful videos, dreaming on... :) Thank you, for keeping my dream alive!
I'm turning 17 in September, and these videos are inspiring me to dance again. I danced for four years as a kid. I know I can't go pro, but I love dancing.
Ballet is an unexplainable beauty, I have been doing it all my life and I will keep doing it until I die. People ask me why I love pointe, which makes your feet damaged and bleed, and my answer is that I love it. It's an art.
I have been a ballerina for over 9 years and this is what it's all about the strength and serenity that is possesed by a ballerina is unimaginable to anyone who had never tried I know girls who just go to ballet to socialize and they don't understand that ballet is a lifestyle not a club or local hang out it is like a temple. If you worship your body and nourish it's strength to survive like i do you will make it far in the world of ballerinas. I'm 12 and go to Amy's school of dance
I am a 9 time Australian Powerlifting Champion and Current national Bench Press Record Holder, I am an Exercise Psychologist and have a masters in Exercise Science and level 3 Strength and Conditioning Coach, 2 time mr Fitness Pro-Am and The Australian Super Lightweight Kick Boxing Champion and a 6th degree Black Belt....and I find Ballet the most beautiful, elegant, graceful, demanding and magnificent Art there is - I could never perform to your levels of Grace, poise &, strength - I am in awe!
honestly i'm 18 and i recently started with ballet. i'm doing really good; i'm flexible and i work hard, i have improved A LOT since my first class and my teacher is proud that i improve so quickly. she didn't really wanted me to do ballet cause of my age, but then she said she'd give me a test on which she would base if i could join her classes she told me that she's glad for giving me that chance, because i'm a gain for our balletclass. please don't give up on hope, life can take you anywhere.
It is incredible how some think that doing ballet is not a sport or that it doesn't need effort to be completed. Actually, that was what I thought until I met my best friend. She taught me ballet and now I understand that it needs TONS of effort and dedication. IT IS painfull, specially for starters. SACRIFICE is needed. But if you really want to be a great dancer, PERSEVERANCE is all you need.
In fact I just started ballet again at 13 . I got a scholarship and I was in a ballet intensive summer camp. This year I'm ready to do advanced ballet . It'll be hard , but I'm not going to stop trying . This video inspired me last summer to take ballet even if I would be in a class with much younger children. I found an amazing ballet school. I hadn't taken ballet in five years, but I didn't give up.
:) amazing aren't they...as an artist paintings and drawings of ballet dancers are my personal favourites...and while i cant dance ballet to save my life i hold a great admiration for it and i show this by capturing their movements on paper or canvas and bringing them to life with paint..Ballet is a very admirable skill and i wish anyone who wishes to learn or continue this amazing artform the best of luck..
You're never too old. True, you cannot go to the ballet school, but there are dance studios that do not care for the age - go for it. I know I will as I also always dreamed to be able to dance ballet.
I love ballet. I love dancing. It makes me happier than anything in the whole world. People call me fat, people say I have bad feet, people tell me I'll never make it pro. Who cares if you go pro? The point is you do what you love, and that's what I'm doing.
I started at the age of 22, and I've made incredible progress over the years. Keep it realistic, though, most of us late starters will never reach the level of young professionals, but we can still work hard to improve our technique, learn harder moves, dance en pointe, and just ENJOY ballet
i love this video!!!! you got it just right !!!! the dancers, the words,EVERYTHING!!!! i love ballet sooooooo much and i will tell all my friends about this video because it is soooo good!!!! WELL DONE!!!!
I read the comment above about how their biggest regret was quitting ballet. But the truth is, when you quit, you're not really quitting. Even if you hated it while you were dancing it, ballet, or any dance changes and alters you heart forever. I trained for 10 years and decided to quit. The reason why I am watching this is actually cause I miss it right now. But even though my feet aren't moving, my heart is dancing along with the music.
I took ballet around 5 years ago when I was 8 and I regret so much for quitting... It was so much fun and I learned so much that actually helps me now!!
i dont do ballet, or any type of dance, but i have great respect for those who do ballet, it is amazing to see people move like this with such skill, amazing n subbed :P
the point of the art form i find the most fascinating is when you transfer all your body weight to the top of the toes on one foot and then follow through with a spin, the fact that the body mechanics can support your balance in this position so well is truly amazing... o.o
At first, I thought that ballet was some girly dance that I'd never due being the tom-boy I am. But in the 7th grade I was assigned to ballet because there was no more room for volley ball. At that time I realized how much strength you needed to do ballet. Now I'm in 8th grade, level 2 ballet in a performing arts school. It is truly an exquisite and beautiful dance style that requires so much strength. I envy these dancers for there strength and flow of movement.
I mean I love Ballet and doing POINTE, but the PAIN and hardwork with dedication is soo intense! You have to have the strength but mask it with beauty to do Ballet. People say your just prancing on your toes, when really its a DIFFERENT story. It took me nearly a year to perfect a pirouette and whatsoever. I love ballet, it keeps you challenged and slim and fit. :D
when i was little i was teased for being a ballet dancer and now i don't give a crap. It's what I love, I'm made for it, there's nothing that could ever stop me from ballet.

Soooo beautiful! I'm amazed each time I watch this video and I think about all the losers who think that ballet is not a sport. It's just as difficult maybe even more difficult than some other sports. Go Ballet!! I hope one day to dance like you guys!!!
when i fnly decided to dedicate my life to this art last year and go pro i ended up falling and hurting myself it's been two years and my obsession still goes on one day i hope ill be able to go back =)
Only now I'm older am i even starting to appreciate how much hard work, devotion and pain goes into a dancers art. They are supremely strong and athletic.
i remember when i used to watch this videos
Same! It was so inspiring to me, I would play it on repeat just for the music too haha
I am a a dancer, and have been my whole life. Nobody seems to understand how tough dance is. For example, we can leap as high as any pro athlete but we have to land gracefully and without a sound. This video does a beautiful job portraying the challenges that comes along with dance. Great video :)

I'm crying. This is the most beautiful way to express what's on your soul. I really love it.
Does anyone know the song melody? Which artist?
I been wondering myself
It’s called “A Beautiful Strength”.

17 years of my life dedicated to this! Art in it's most pure and simple way!
Lindo
That's what is so beautiful about ballet. It is made to look graceful and effortless but it requires so much strength and pain. Much respect
Sure we work our bodies to death every week but we're not suffering, if we were suffering we would stop. But I'm not stopping anytime soon!
I can watch this video over and over again and it never gets old! I hope to be like them when im older! So inspirational!
XxX
You know what I love? How the dancers shown in this video are so beautiful and yet, they're not stick thin. Simply gorgeous (:

This is the magic of perseverance and desire. This all started with an idea and ended up in these beautiful honest pure scenes(:
I have been doing ballet since i was 4 and only just in the past two years got on to point, i am now on my 2nd grade in point and you have no idea and phyisically demanding it is, I spent five hours in the studio on friday trying to do seven turns, doing over and over again and still haven't done it. I HAVE SEEN LOTS OF BALLET AND HAVE FRIENDS IN A FEW MAJOR COMPANIES SUCH AS AND I MUST SAY I LOVE THESE KIDS FROM ANAHEIM
I love ballet. I love dancing. It makes me happier than anything in the whole world. People call me fat, people say I have bad feet, people tell me I'll never make it pro. Who cares if you go pro? The point is you do what you love, and that's what I'm doing.
If there was a love button on this video instead of just like, I would press it. This video is so beautiful
ballet is amazing!! they are just so talented
I started at the age of 22, and I've made incredible progress over the years. Keep it realistic, though, most of us late starters will never reach the level of young professionals, but we can still work hard to improve our technique, learn harder moves, dance en pointe, and just ENJOY ballet

ballet looks realy fun, spinning around on your toes. it looks fun
the dancers are brilliant!!!! i love this video!!!!
the point of the art form i find the most fascinating is when you transfer all your body weight to the top of the toes on one foot and then follow through with a spin, the fact that the body mechanics can support your balance in this position so well is truly amazing... o.o
you are never to old to dance!
Finally someone who understand's that ballet requires so much more strength then any other "sport"
At first, I thought that ballet was some girly dance that I'd never due being the tom-boy I am. But in the 7th grade I was assigned to ballet because there was no more room for volley ball. gave me goosebumps. so beautiful.
If I could live my life over again, I would have definitely learned ballet!
@Petrabi I have done ballet for almost 8 years and when I tell people that I can't do something because I have ballet or rehearsal or a performance, they think that ballet is easy. I have done alot of things in my life, and I can honestly say that ballet is one of the hardest things. I love it and I will never give it up
.....And this was the video that inspired me to start taking ballet classes again.
I have only one word to say - BEAUTIFUL
Ballet takes more strength than any sport. Seriously. But it also takes grace and beauty, flexibility and dedication. I despise people who say "Ballet is so easy". I'm like, I'd LOVE to see you do at least ONE class at bar. You would die.
OMG ANAHEIM!! my hometown!! Just gorgeous!!
Soooo beautiful! I'm amazed each time I watch this video and I think about all the losers who think that ballet is not a sport. It's just as difficult maybe even more difficult than some other sports. Go Ballet!! I hope one day to dance like you guys!!!
