The key takeaway from John is John 20: 28 Thomas says directly to Jesus " The LORD of me and the God of me " Jesus IS the Visible YHWH of the Hebrew Bible and the Father is the Invisible YHWH of the Hebrew Bible. Both persons of YHWH R in Genesis 19:24 and this is the basis of the Trinity ( authentic Christianity based on Biblical Judaism of the 2nd temple period, which Rabbinic Judaism rejected in the 2nd century AD. Mormonism is the actual total Apostasy.
People talk of John as if he was a staric being. Regarding the comments at about minute 30, If his letters and revelations were written 30 or more years after Christ"s death, He had plenty of time to continue learning to read and write in another language. He may have started out poor, but that doesn't mean he wasn't intelligent.
Jesus loved John a bit more because John was younger than the rest and he was ‘ without guile” he was soft and loving .. that was his personality. This is what I feel, not from deep studies..
Mary of Bethany sought the good part, and she was not denied. This level of faith places her in the bosom of Jesus.. it also gives to her the adoption of a son.
It is Judaiic tradition to title a work by its first words. The hebrew word john, יענה, is also the subject. The root ענה is found in Solomon's passage on the way of life. There it is "the beginning of the response." In the gospel it is the beginning of the word. This is the crowning grace of godliness. If you think of it in terms of cooing or the dove, you may consider that this special relationship of walking and talking with Christ often employs repetition. Maybe it is rather like that of the mocking bird.
Wow. I’m stunned at the limited understanding this teacher has on the subject matter. Or maybe it’s just the divide btw Mormon theology and Church history. John was the nephew of Jesus! The Church has known this, written about this since its founding. Shocked this guy doesn’t know that. 😮
@@tanyarobinson1146 Church tradition, not ‘some traditions’. Sadly, that’s what happens post Reformation: people discard the faith of their fathers for new & novel ideas. Christ founded THE Church, not ‘a’ church.
