ChainsawN&W1218, some good footage of NS traversing the grades and loops with the wood chip hoppers, maybe through freights will return there one day!🚂🛤
Yeah, I really wish I would have seen 123 or 135 when I was there, but they were over night. It's crazy how many MW trains they ran over the loops this year already, I heard a herzog train and a rail train so far, maybe some others too.
@@CentralPennRailProductions well some days, 123 ran in the morning and if it was long, they would combine with P87! 123 ran at sunset actually. But in November, I guess night time. 135 was at the same time as 87 but was changed in July of 2019. Then on May 7th 2020, the loops was only for short trains!
Pactiv Evergreen paper mill in Canton, NC closing layer this year. That's going to be a big hit on the local economy, and on westbound wood chip traffic.
I hear late spring. So weird not seeing any trains in three months, I live close to the yard. This is one of three videos of the damage. th-cam.com/video/_BXkbi137Do/w-d-xo.html
It's so random it's hard to say. In the summer it's easier because trains usually leave Enola around 5-6pm. But any daylight train on the Port Road that's not H19 or H30 around Columbia is a good catch.
@@CentralPennRailProductions np. O, ok. That's good 2 know. I've also recently been listening 2 the radio and heard train at about the time I noormally finish with school for the day. So who know, maybe I'll head down there one day after school and see if anything comes.
You sir had a full day capturing this video.
Many thanks from Florida on posting this video!

nice video & nice catches
Thanks!
Nice catch. Really the ex Southern loop. Glad it still there.
It's a neat feature for sure. It's cool they built stuff like this long before computers and lasers. Thanks for watching!
The Loops and a lot of western NC tracks were badly damage during hurricane Helene
Good title, of course...the photography was great too.
Thanks, as always!
Nice catches
P87 won't run on the Loops anymore because the papermill in Canton is closing. Small chance something is going to move in there.
Yeah that's some really sad news!
@@CentralPennRailProductions it is. Imagine having T59 being the only one on the Murphy branch.
Now, it's that wood chipper, and a mini manifest at evening and night. The same p87 power is used for the mini train

I caught that rail train but not on the loops.
Excellent capture my friend like 24

It was sad when that happened. So many people depended on that mill to put food on the table.
i literally live in Asheville and i do railfanning but never see blue ridge southerns because i go to the river arts district to railfan.
Great vid , I wonder if we will see trains on this line after the big rains of this year. What do you hear about rebuilding efforts ?

Nice Video
Very Cool!! Also, also, about the Port Road, If I do try to get some daylight action, what would be the best time to be there?
