Claire is straight up wrong in this scene but I think a lot for women go through this feeling at some point. And while nasty, I don't exactly blame Frank for calling her out like he does. The animal side of every woman wants a strong man. The enlightened side of every woman wants to be seen as equal to men. These two ideas are at odds and I think that's what leads to much of the strife we hear about. Men have their issue as well of course, and this argument doesn't really work for gay couples as much but the point still remains: we all have expectations for how we should be treated and they don't always line up. You can't be an equal and a superior at the same time, and Frank is incensed by the idea that he has to explain this fact to a person he thought was more mature than that.

Despite all of Frank's mistakes, he's still the mover and shaker of the relationship and Claire is being a trifling bitch, riding in on his coattails without even realizing it. Nevermind her much needed help to her husband - she's overvaluing herself and Frank is pushed to his limit. It's monstrous. But it's true. That's why this show is so fucking awesome in its depictions. Well, at least until the end of Season 4 and onward. Then Frank becomes a cuck. C'est la vie.
I understand Claire. She's ambitious and intelligent but lacks the drive and charisma to get where Frank has. She's angry at herself because she thinks she's better than being a sidekick. But she's wrong and she knows it. She needed Frank to get her to the position they're in now and she wants to capitalise on his hard work. I understand Frank as well. I think he does want Claire to feel equal, but he has very little patience for feelings and he knows he is the one who has done the achieving. They aren't really equal but that's not his fault.
When petrov said that Claire is Frank's weakness I think he meant her ambition. Most of these guys with power don't marry women who covet their power. Claire is too ambitious for their partnership to last. They both want to be in the driver seat
