I didn't realize where on N. Broad St. the Uptown was, until I was a sudent at Temple U in Johnson Hall. My big sister used to take me there when I would visit Philly -- as a kid, to see the 5 Stairsteps, Brenda & The Tabulations and others! Great love & memories. Peace:)

Tireless volunteers are working pulling together nickles and dimes, im ashamed of my neighborhood and tri-state area, elected officials and pastors , putting nickels and dimes together , Business center multi-purpose venue. Im embarrassed by the lack of involvement from Mayor, city council, ward leaders , FORMER MUSiCiANS AND SUCCESSFUL ENTERTAINERS, THE COALITION THE (UEDC), HAS SMALL PARTNERS DOING HUGE WORL, TO NAME A FEW , GRANDS AS PARENTS (EVENT 8/23/17), X-OFFENDERS FOR COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT, THE NEIGHBORHOOD LEADER, ST. SENATOR SHARIF STREET, BABA YUMY Odom (organization , teaches a variety of rites to Passage for boys and men, New Radio Station, stop in person , Direct Ms Linda Richardson, and team welcomes you, 2231 n. Broad st 19132...if the Universities can Radio Station space (WM Penn) demolish and construct acquire , fields more in 6-9 months, WE CAN DO THE SAME ,BAND TOGETHER TALK IS SO CHEAP , WHAT ARE YOU DOING?on, YOuth Programs, work programs for teens, acting, dancing, media instructions and banquet hall for rent
I was THERE! It was such an integral part of my life. My Dad was a jazz musician so he appreciated the artists.

Uptown theater was the apollo theater of Philadelphia. Lots of amazing entertainment

NY has THE FAMOUS APOLLO ... PHILLY has the once FAMOUS UPTOWN THEATER..IT needs to be reopened so WE TOO... ROCK!!
