Two years late but congrats. I heard some of their products at an audio show many years ago and I was very impressed by what I heard. Also they very beautiful components too.

Hi there ! I'm extremely glad you had the "Illuminator " experience. I took the plunge over 10 years ago during a "why the heck not moment" and without much of expectation at all. Darn was I wrong ! As you say, it did blew my mind. I still keep and use my physical music collection and enjoy using it. Have gone through several Auric sets and redone all the 1000 + cds. My set up changed dramatically in price and size over the years, as well as the listening room, but the effects of the AuricIlluminator are as easily noticeable on a 3k set up, as are on a 300k one ! Man, Merry Christmas to you and that is one hell of a Christmas gift that you got yourself!!! I know how good CD players can sound, my dealer let me demo both a Audio Research Cd7 and a Cd8 with the differences between the two players mainly being was the power supply, but you could have your power supple updated on the cd7. Those two players are tubed based and the cd8 was the better player and I will tell you for the week that I had the cd8, I didn’t listen to any vinyl, that’s how good those tubes sounded, just like vinyl. I found myself trying to play every cd that I could find. I hated sending the player back and it was between 6000 to 7000 dollars new, but I could have gotten it for about 3800 used. I needed to upgrade my amp at the time. I never forgot the experience and have always longed for it again. I settled on a Audio Research Cd3, which in its very right is a fine player as well, just not cd8 or cd7 levels, so I know what you are talking about. All of the players mentioned use Phillip transports and are top loaders with the pucks to stabilize the CDs inside the transport like yours. I’m currently waiting for my sub amps for my Vandersteen Quatros to come back from the dealer as the capacitors are bad on one, but I’m just having both of them done at the same time to eliminate any problems. They were sent off to Vandersteen and due to the holidays, I’m not sure when they are coming back. I’m currently listening to a book shelf pair of B&Ws with a borrowed Rel Subwoofer from the dealer. Everything sounds good. Keep us posted on your upgrades and with the Auric illuminator after you use the marker trick, can you wipe the black marker marks off? Not that you would want to, it I’m just curious.
Wow Sid! Nice players to demo! I did use the pen in this video, I show it applied on the cd. It really did make a noticeable improvement! Yes it comes off if you want to remove it. I wish you had this stuff when you we're borrowing the Audio research! Merry Christmas & thanks for watching! 🎄⭐️🎼✨

The point is not how much kilohertz you hear, but how accurately the sound is reproduced, another question is that the $ 6,000 spent may not mean that you took a device that reproduces sound of high quality, for this you need to take measurements, that can be seen in numbers and graphs.

You saw this happen with Auric Illuminator? One of my subscribers turned me on to this product. He has discs years old with no oxidization. Thanks for watching! 👌🎼✨
to be clear (NPI) it's the coatings that eventually oxidize. You may not see it, but listen to a disc that was coated ~ 12 months ago, mine sound dull, lost their dimensionality and sparkle. Then wash and rinse without reapplication, and play. The New DARK Matter avoids all that. I simply wash all discs as I bring them home, to remove any mould separator. Done, and done.

I have the L'ART DU SON cleaning fluid and noticed a small improvement after treating a few CDs. Would it be worth buying the Illuminator also? Would you recommend using both products? Many thanks.
Good question! All of my CDs were treated with the L'art Du Son first actually. It caused my CDs to oxidize though. I put the Illuminator over it, this not only took most of the oxidation off, but it blew it away in sound quality! Wait till you hear the difference the Illuminator makes on a CD. It's a night & day improvement . 👍🎼✅
@@vpconcepts9838 Many thanks indeed for your reply. Caveat emptor I suppose but £50 (UK) is a very small outlay and I think you know what your ears have told you. I'll order today - thanks again.
You will be quite happy my friend. A few tips... Use the supplied cloth to apply, then breath on it like you are defogging a pair of glasses. This lifts it off much easier after it dries for 10-15 sec. then use a lens cloth to buff it off. I also use a second lens cloth for a final polish. Rinse & dry cloths about every 8-10 CDs so you don't scratch them. Using 2 coats also sounds better than one. The pen will add even more improvement & really works! That's what I've learned after treating 300 CD's. 👍🎼✅
Paul McGowan said in one of his recent videos that for him the burned copy of a CD always sounded better than the original. Did you ever try this tweak?
I'm going to treat one cd and not the other, burn them in and see. I know when burning to a gold disk or black/green disk that those can sound better than the silver. Thank you for watching! 🎄🎼👌✨
With all bias's aside, how would you say their set up compares to similar from Esoteric? Any input? Also, they seem to have dropped CD/SACD for just CD. CD/SACD in my case is a must.
Esoteric is an amazing company and built like a tank, no Bias here! I only heard one 2 years ago at CES and it sounded very smooth and open. I do know that the Electrocompaniet EMC-1 has been around since it was called the "UP" and was commonly used by audio manufactures at shows to demonstrate their speakers and components because it's such a musical player. I would need to get both side by side to compare. I agree with you on the SACD side, but since I only own about 20 of them and it's pretty much discontinued, I went ahead and bought it anyways. I did an A/B against the rebook only versions and the SACD version still sounded better on the non SACD layer. I'm into Japanese SHM-CDs now, lol. Thanks for watching! 👌🎼✨
Merry Christmas to you man and hope we all have a much better new year than this last year . Beautiful CD player and I’m sure it sounds excellent, enjoy 👍
Thank you Cedar! My next experiment is to burn one plain, then treat it and see. Yes you can wash it off with rubbing alcohol if you don't like it. Thanks for watching! 👌🎄🎼✨
Just found you on TH-cam. And a resident in Vegas. Just checked the audio shop on e.Charlston closing last week TEMPORARY due to covid. Can you tell me another hifi audio re-seller similer to Audio Xperts?!?
Hi Tom. Yes he had been closed for months now, but hopefully will reopen some day. I moved me and my channel to Seattle 6 months ago & don't know of any other used hifi repair shops like this in Las Vegas. Thank you very much for watching! 👌🎼✨
You noticed! I had a chance to grab this player for a price I couldn't refuse. It's a top class player and one I've been lusting after since I was 26 back in the 90's. And now I have the matching outboard DAC for it! I couldn't be happier. Thanks for watching as always! 👌🎼✨
@@vpconcepts9838 I think there is a misunderstanding. I mean the High Fidelity MC-05 which I saw in one of your video's. It was put in one of your outlets. In the kitchenunit if I remember well.
Oh yes! It failed miserably. I had to bring someone over to verify it. Then I put one in 2 models up and it sounded the same. Made everything stringent & brittle. It gave me anxiety listening to it. They both went up for sale and are gone. I also tried the Bendini cd clarifier machine and it was a train wreck. I need to do a video on tweaks that didn't work in my system, but it seems to frazzle my subscribers if I mention anything wrong with another companies products or service. Makes it kind of hard to educate, you know? Thanks for watching as always Kees! 👌🎼✨
There was a time when I had my entire CD collection painted. And I went back to cleaning everything. I still spoiled 2 or 3 CDs with the cleaning product. This is because I realized that it compromised dynamics. It is true that the background becomes cleaner, blacker and the contrasts more evident, which equates to a greater sense of detail and a more comfortable listening like you said. But over time I noticed a leveling and some loss of emotion. It was the loss of dynamics. And dynamics is what gives life to music. But it's just my experience. I suggest that you clean one or the other CD and listen again. Congrats with the CD player. Is one of the CD players I've always dreamed of. Cheers
Thanks! Yes I listened to over 300 CDs before treatment. No loss of dynamics at all. Everything opened up and I have been complete satisfied. I'm surprised to hear that the Auric Illuminator product did this to your CDs? Thanks for watching as always! 👌🎼✨
Ive been a subscriber of your channel for quite sometime and Im always entertained and informed. Your setup is one awesome setup. I would love to be able to get a system like yours. One thing I can never reconcile with me and y systems is how do I know Im getting the best sound from it? I have a Yamaha RX-3050 and a room full of Klipsch speakers. Ive spent quite a bit of money on it and Im never satisfied with the sound. Ive setup the system many many times and I can never get it to sound the way I think it should. I have a about 300+ albums thayt Ive collected (Im an old guy) over the years. I have XBOX and FireTV for streaming. None of it sounds good at all. Any ideas or do you know of a person that is willing to assist me in the configuration of my system? Also welcome to Seattle. Im just a few miles south of you in Renton. Take care and any advise would be awesome.
Hi Steve! For me it was a culmination of many steps. The power conditioning with ps audio. The vibration control with stillpoints under all components. Upgraded power cords & ceramic fuses. Quality interconnects and speaker cables. And of course quality amplification and components. The first thing I would do is barrow a set of speakers from a friend or a store with a sample or 30 day return policy to see if the klipsche sound is just not gelling with your room and electronics. For me, once I had all the foundational pieces installed in the system, I upgraded my components and speakers from there. Thanks for watching and Merry Christmas neighbor! 👌🎼🎄✨
i am in europe ,i could not found a seller for Auric Illuminator ,i must have. maybe your friend can tell me where to order it here in europe.thank you
My Goodness, an Electrocompaniet Christmas gift? You've been especially good this year, my friend. That is quite a piece of equipment - congrats! I'm not a streamer at all. My source of choice is spinning vinyl, with about 5000 pieces. However, I also own 3000 CD's that I also listen to (PS Audio Direct Stream DAC and Direct Stream Memory Player Transport). So, the Auric Illuminator could be useful. While I have always been open to tweaks, wires, cables, etc. as they can definitely make a difference. I have tended to avoid lotions, sprays and treatments to my various disks. But, I must say, after this last testimonial of yours I'm really close to pulling the trigger. Another excellent video and Merry Christmas.
Thanks Tony! I picked up a couple new records this week too. One was Art Pepper Meets the Rhythm Section. I may have another high end PS Audio streamer piece coming just so people quit bugging me about it & to play some background music while working lol 🤣👌🎼✨ Thanks for watching as always!
I always heard it was supposed to be green ink on the edge of the CD not black, but either one destroys the resale value of a CD collection. So I wouldn’t ink *any* CD unless it’s already skipping and otherwise unsalvageable.
The treatment washes of with dish soap & the pen comes off with a little rubbing alcohol. No resale value damaged. The green pen flakes off and can damage the transport, that's why Audience uses black. Enjoy the videos! 👍🎼✨
Techmoan did a video recently proving scientifically that garbage audiophile tricks like markers and shaving the side of the CD make absolutely no difference.
Shaving I haven't tried. Black marker, well I've treated over 300 discs now with improvements perceived each time. I love his channel I really do, but his system is nowhere near as resolving as mine. Please do take that into consideration. Thanks for watching Gaston! 🙏🏻🎼💯✨
@@vpconcepts9838 I mean you can try the same experiment. Find a cheap transport, get a PCM recorder and PROVE that your 6K machine is indeed better than the cheap one. No double blind test needed. Just raw data. If your thing can somehow "resolve" more data from a brand new Redbook CD, I would be shocked.
I have the CEC TL1X belt drive transport. I still play CD`s because of that, no streaming comes even close. It`s so much more musical. They say it`s analogue sounding, i say it puts analog to shame.

if people are this obsessed with this, why not just rip all your CDs to files using CDDB confirm your files are bit perfect then just stream your files from a NAS into your system? Then all this stuff about CD players missing bits and so on would be gone. Obviously when I move binary files back and forth on my ethernet I NEVER have files with errors (at least I've never noticed one).
Just hear your self babbling about. Some people just want to enjoy a ritual. Your `solution`is making it as less emotional as can be. By adding a lot of hassle.
I can't get my head around there being audiophile versions of digital storage.....i.e. audiophile HDDs in an audiophile NAS that sends the file to a DAC. Obviously I get the DAC onwards part but can it really matter how the bits are stored before sent to the DAC? If there's some technical documents anyone can point me at I'd be grateful.
The higher end clocks in transports reduces jitter due to timing errors. And a cleaner cd improves the focus of the laser which improves the read of data that also reduces jitter. I really found this out when burning in a treated cd and importing into iTunes. 👌🎉✨
@@vpconcepts9838 there are no timing errors moving data from a drive to ram. It's bit-perfect else no computer anywhere would work. I'm not taking about digital audio streams outputted from the device that takes the e.g. flac file and turns it into pcm or whatever, I'm talking about the storage to ram section. How is there such a thing as an audiophile HDD?
@@miff227 nope, but this is about the CD-medium, so more relevant to Vpconcepts audiophile-grade CD player featured in the video. I agree, a HDD shouldn’t matter but that’s a different ballgame. I don’t really know enough to take either side of the CD player issue - I’m not into consumer hi-fi audio scene; though I do know jitter is a big deal in my world of music production; accurate word clock timing is very important going from analog to digital, where jitter can degrade signal.
Personally, measurements mean nothing to me. I have managed 3 retail audiophile stores in the past & I have listened to equipment that measured better or had impressive specs on paper, and yet I didn't connect to the music emotionally. If it brings tears to my eyes when I hear the violin play, then it passes my scrutiny. That's all it takes for me, lol. Great question & thanks for watching always Christophe! 👌🎼✨

I'm pronounce it like a white boy I'm sure 😆👊🎼✨
@@vpconcepts9838 You pronounce the "t" -- Electro-companee-yet. Say the back half really fast and no one can tell if you pronounce it the French way or the Nordic way.
Are those Phillips modules available for replacement? I can't get the modules for my cdr615 any longer.
Yes the transport is custom and they have many 😉👌✨
I have the L'ART DU SON cleaning fluid and noticed a small improvement after treating a few CDs.
@@vpconcepts9838 You are a diamond geezer - as us Londoners are apt to say.
Super nice, Merry Christmas!
You too Scotty!! 🎄✨☃️🌨
Do you think that auric illuminator would give any benefit when ripping cd's to a computer?
Yes! I have A/B tested and it absolutely has the same effect. 👌🏆🎼✨
@@vpconcepts9838 awesome! In that case I have some shopping to do 👍
Please share your results! 👌🎼✨
Thank you Lance, and you too brother!
I'm just happy to be back home in Seattle.
I've really found contentment. Happy New Year! 🎄🎼✨
@@vpconcepts9838 I’m glad your happy man !

Merry Christmas !!!!
Glad u a loving your new CD player
Do u think the Illuminator would help if I rip my cds to a innuos ?
Thank you Cedar! My next experiment is to burn one plain, then treat it and see. Yes you can wash it off with rubbing alcohol if you don't like it. Thanks for watching! 👌🎄🎼✨
Beautiful

I have the same CDP but an earlier version. I recommend you get the spider clamp to replace the puck. Makes a big difference
Here you go 😉👌

Next year go for the Auralic ARIES G2.1 and a Qobuz. It is time for you now.
It doesn't have philips PRO-II.... It has stream unlimited PRO-8....
What happened to Jay's CDT-2 transport?
You noticed! I had a chance to grab this player for a price I couldn't refuse. It's a top class player and one I've been lusting after since I was 26 back in the 90's. And now I have the matching outboard DAC for it! I couldn't be happier. Thanks for watching as always! 👌🎼✨
@@vpconcepts9838 This player indeed looks killer. When can we expect the review of the High Fidelity Magnetic Shunt Conditioner?
Not in the cards to add to my system. But if I ever run across one in the future you know I'll do a video on it! 🤣👊🎼✨
Sorry did you say 24/192 or 96? Congrats on the player, she is a beauty. Cheers
24/192 😉👍🎼✨
Living the dream….lol
Psychoacoustics😀 If you want to hear a difference, you will. You won’t even be able to measure one

@@LorenzoNW Great idea Lorenzo! 👌🎼✨
I may have another high end PS Audio streamer piece coming just so people quit bugging me about it & to play some background music while working lol 🤣👌🎼✨
Thanks for watching as always!
Sounds like a great video for your channel and subscribers Robert! 👌💯🎼✨
Thy a nakamichi oms-4a probaby sounds better if you can find a good working one I have like 40 cd players best sounding yet.
I have the CEC TL1X belt drive transport.
I still play CD`s because of that, no streaming comes even close.
It`s so much more musical. They say it`s analogue sounding, i say it puts analog to shame.
Nice! 👍🎼✨
Hi, first want to said I really enjoy watching your videos👍Merry Christmas and Congrats!🎉 also I'm a music lover and I believe in tweaks I just ordered the Auric Illuminator from The Cable Company. Will let you know my experience with the Auric Illuminato. Have a safe and a great holiday🌲🎁🎅☃👍😆👽✌

Very good combination with the mcIntosh !!!
Thank you Hector! 👌🎼✨
i'm switching back to cd lately since i upgraded my amp. Even with a dvd player as a transport the difference is HUGE between that and my streaming solution. I'm thinking about buying my first real cd player or cd transport. Any suggestions ?
Luxman had a really nice pieces and so does Musical Fidelity.

Scheiße ⁉️😳
Greetings from Germany 🤣
Hello! 😉👌💯🎼✨
if people are this obsessed with this, why not just rip all your CDs to files using CDDB confirm your files are bit perfect then just stream your files from a NAS into your system? Then all this stuff about CD players missing bits and so on would be gone.
Obviously when I move binary files back and forth on my ethernet I NEVER have files with errors (at least I've never noticed one).
To each his own in this hobby.
Physical media for me brother! 😉👌🎼✨
Just hear your self babbling about.
Some people just want to enjoy a ritual.
Your `solution`is making it as less emotional as can be. By adding a lot of hassle.
So now you're a Kimber Cable AND Auric Illuminator fanboy. ;-)
Absolutely! I put my money & time where my mouth is, and share that with you guys. Thanks for watching always! 👌🎼🎄✨
🤗👍👏👏👏
Thanks for the tip bud,I'm using a krell nd 10 cd tranport, congratulations on your new transport MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Thanks John! That Krell is amazing stuff too!
Merry Christmas and thanks always for your support! 👌🎼✨🎄⭐️
Don’t be afraid to say “shit”!
They can demonetize me, hence the word play 😂👍🎼✨
I can't get my head around there being audiophile versions of digital storage.....i.e. audiophile HDDs in an audiophile NAS that sends the file to a DAC. Obviously I get the DAC onwards part but can it really matter how the bits are stored before sent to the DAC?
If there's some technical documents anyone can point me at I'd be grateful.
The higher end clocks in transports reduces jitter due to timing errors. And a cleaner cd improves the focus of the laser which improves the read of data that also reduces jitter. I really found this out when burning in a treated cd and importing into iTunes. 👌🎉✨
www.stereophile.com/content/cd-jitter-errors-magic-page-3
I still don’t know if I buy it. Guess I’d have to do a blind a/b test to believe.
@@truthbydesign5146 your link doesn't even mention HDDs
@@miff227 nope, but this is about the CD-medium, so more relevant to Vpconcepts audiophile-grade CD player featured in the video. I agree, a HDD shouldn’t matter but that’s a different ballgame.
I don’t really know enough to take either side of the CD player issue - I’m not into consumer hi-fi audio scene; though I do know jitter is a big deal in my world of music production; accurate word clock timing is very important going from analog to digital, where jitter can degrade signal.
more important,,, give list of cds,,,and label...
Why don't you play some music???
I do in my other videos on the channel. Thanks for watching always Louis! 👌🎼✨
Need to show the audio stuff more you just flashed the CD product. They shouldn't pay you
Pay? Brother this is a free gig, LMAO!
Thanks for watching 👊🎼✨
Instead of sharing your impressions, why don't you just have it measured ?
Personally, measurements mean nothing to me. I have managed 3 retail audiophile stores in the past & I have listened to equipment that measured better or had impressive specs on paper, and yet I didn't connect to the music emotionally.
If it brings tears to my eyes when I hear the violin play, then it passes my scrutiny. That's all it takes for me, lol. Great question & thanks for watching always Christophe! 👌🎼✨
I'd rather spend the money on a good vinyl front end.
I have that too of course! Thanks for watching Garnet! 👌🎼✨
