Wow! What an informative video, bro! As a person who’s just thought of getting into the vending machine business, this video was helpful and quite detailed. What tips it, is that you’re sharing it for free. Blessings to you!
I have one question on an area you didn’t cover, profits. I’m aware, it will depend on the type of stock you sell, but I’m keen to get an idea on the profit range one can expect.
Thanks for the feedback bro! I’m glad you found some value in it and I hope it’s the push you need to start your business. Thanks again, blessings!
I make at least R2k+ per machine per month net. What I’ve seen is that because of my pricing, I make a 40% profit on my sales for e.g. if I make R15k in total sales R6k will be my profit considering all expenses.
Thank you was looking for this information and Google recommended your video
I’m glad it was helpful

New subbie here it’s something I’ve thought about but I always think to myself how do you approach these high traffic places ? Must you have a contract in place ? I was going to ask if there’s a commission but you answered that one lol
It’s quite nerve-racking in the beginning, but you just need to start and practice your approach until you’re comfortable communicating. A basic approach: Hi, my name is (name) of (business) and I wanted to know if you’d be interested in having a vending machine in your location etc. then the conversation goes on from there depending on the response. The agreement will be dependent on the client’s expectations but usually a contract would be necessary if they want commission. I will do a video on how to approach potential vending machine locations for more information if that would be helpful? Thanks for your comment.
Thanks for the video G. Question.... Since you dont pay rent for it... dont you also not pay electricity bills for it?
Thanks for watching man. Nope, I don’t pay any electricity bills for it. When you approach a company/business, you must sell them on the fact that you’re going to provide convenience to their employees and customers 24/7.
Hi sir, I notice that there isn’t a vendor machine in Mozambique, and they do not sell here, do you think is a great idea to buy one in South Africa and send to Mozambique?
Hi sir, you’re not the first to ask the questions. I’m still finding out the cost of transporting machines across the borders and if the local companies are willing to do that. Please send me an email in the meantime to let you know of the feedback. oyisa@onela.co.za
can you please cover profits on the next video grootman?
Thanks for reaching out. Please check out my other videos to see the profits that I’ve made at different time periods. E.g. over a week, 10 days, a month etc
Listen properly! 😂😂😂
I butchered that number😂😂😂
is the vending machine scene in south Africa actually profitable?
Yes it is. It has increased my total income like I wanted it to.
Is it a must to use a card reader?
Nope, you don’t need to use a card reader, but it makes up 30% of my monthly sales, so it’s a worthwhile investment. You don’t have to buy it, there are companies that lease card readers out there.
How much do the businesses charge you to have a vending machine of their property
They don’t charge me to place the vending machines in the locations.
is renting a vend machine a better option or you think it is not ideal?
It depends on the rental and if the location you have is profitable. It’s worth trying if you don’t have the funds to buy.
How much to move the machine itself, or was that included in the startup cost?
It was included in the start up costs but using BigFoot Express from Cape Town to PE was R2.5k, Johannesburg to PE was R3k which you can use as a reference.
Hi , Are there any Licenses or permits needed to start a Vending business in South Africa.
Hi, there are no licenses or permits needed, that I am aware of, to start a vending business in South Africa.
Bro, can you help me with your contacts, I'm from Mozambique and I'm trying to set it up over here. I'm tryna buy the machines and change the note reader to my currency
Hey bro, have you tried Facebook marketplace for cities in your area that have vending machines? Otherwise, I’ll find out from my contacts and give you feedback, but I’m sure that it is possible. The note readers will need to be calibrated to accept your currency. Thanks for your comment.
How did you find locations to place these machines ?
I search on Google for locations that I know are high traffic locations or while I’m driving around the city I identify them and go visit.
Would you say I should buy 2 machines or more at once
If you’ve got the time and finances to invest and study the machines and their sales, I’d say go ahead but if you want to be more conservative, invest in one machine in a location, ensure it’s profitable and then invest in the next one in another location.
Hello brother where can I get that machine
Vending Solutions, Top Vending, Facebook Marketplace and Gumtree. Please send me an email to assist better.
Are the drinks kept cold?
Yes they are kept cold.
Do you need to register a business? What other licenses do you need? I want to register but as a sole proprietorship but cipc doesnt have this option.
You don’t need to register a business when starting out. There aren’t any licenses that I am aware of and I’m based in the Eastern Cape. It just gives you a more professional look when approaching businesses with your proposals to have a registered business. You can be a sole proprietor without having to register through CIPC though but make your business a brand that potential clients will identify you with. A logo, business profile/summary, business cards and business theme etc. Maybe a website too. I hope this helps, let me know if you need more information.
@@oyisahackula wow. You answered so well and the information is very helpful. I didn’t think of business cards. I took a leap and I’m in the process of buying now. I was panicking before I went to check the machines because I thought I wont be taken serious. Your videos motivated me more, I’ll tell you next week if everything goes well.
I’m glad the information was helpful. Yes, business cards still work, I got my second location because I had left my business card with an employee of the place. It’s great to hear that, believe in yourself and you’ll make it work. All the best and yes please let me know how it goes. Thank you for the feedback, I hope to keep providing valuable content.
