She has a knack for using the wrong word. She said they "maneuver the situation" instead of *navigate*. "came back to the plane from talking to the pilots". Among a few other similar minor clangers. I think it's noticeable by reason of contrast with Francis's very precise language.
The GPS blackout has been a thing for quite a few months. Recently Estonia, all the way down to Poland was blacked out! BTW, ALL aircraft have a backup against this attack it's called a compass. In fact a good pilot with just his wrist watch, and either the sun or moon will be cable to navigate. They just have to know the time, and estimate their position (position of our largest celestial body). So whilst light aircraft will suffer, they won't be that bad. Automated system are the problematics points, so movement of goods, drones, Telecommunication, or even satellites comms.
Most transport aircraft have inertial navigation systems (INS) as well as GPS. As long as it is properly 'aligned' before departure, for most practical air navigation purposes, INS is of comparable accuracy to GPS. INS works by measuring and integrating the aircraft's accelerations. Importantly it requires no external reference signals so can't be jammed or interfered with.
As an American, I feel routage and shame at this moment, It is painful, made worse by having mny Ukrainian friends. This was true earlier, given Mr Biden's rationing of military and lack of a strategic goal. The last time i felt this angry was when Barrack Obama strongarmed Ukraine into leaving Crimea without a shot being fired, then withheld military aid. Yet all of this is nothing compared to my horror at the thought of a Trump presidency. It is journalistic malpractice to vaguely pretend that Trump might not pull out of Ukraine, might not leave NATO. While others are screaming a warning, some journalists now want to play the dangerous game of "well, we just don't know, what Trump would do..." We do know. Such reporting denies far too many plain facts of the man's fealty to dictators generally, to Putin in particular, and the sickening love affair the MAGA cult is having in plain sight with Putin.

Europe (that is something broader than the EU) has home produced weapons matching almost every item coming from the US and superior in quality to anything in the Russian inventory. What it doesn't have is the depth of reserve items. Remember almost everything America has supplied is material out of storage or in the process of being replaced by new equipment. So it is not the lack of knowledge but of capacity. Marder for example has proven remarkably efficient some remain in storage but how hard would it to be to re-open a production line? The Belfast factory should be gearing up to mass produce N-Law and so on. Oh nice work in of a bit of Blackadder at the beginning Dom.

The remnants of Ukrainian sabotage-reconnaissance group who tried to infiltrate the Belgorod region through the village of Kozinka on March 14 were destroyed in a minefield during their retreat to Ukrainian territory, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. "A sabotage-reconnaissance group tried to gain a foothold in one of the houses on Respublikanskaya Street, directly adjacent to the state border, where they were blocked by units of the Russian army. The remnants of the group, who retreated to the territory of Ukraine, entered a minefield where they were destroyed," the statement said. According to the ministry, control over the village of Kozinka in the Belgorod region has been completely restored. "Currently, control over the settlement has been completely restored, and the area where the sabotage and reconnaissance group was blocked has been cleared," the department said.

The Russian military has destroyed a Ukrainian command post with a long-range surveillance radar near the settlement of Kozilovka in the Chernihiv region, according to video footage that surfaced online on March 15. The command post and the radar -a Soviet-made, Ukrainian-upgraded 36D6M- were first detected by reconnaissance drones. The position was then quickly targeted with what appears to be a tactical ballistic missile, mostly like an Iskander. The initial strike destroyed the radar and several service vehicles which were parked in the position. A follow up strike with what appears to be cluster rockets fired from a Tornado-S multiple launcher hit the position, destroying what was left. The 36D6M is a 3D aerial surveillance radar with a range of more than 350 kilometers. The radar can operate as a part of the Soviet-made S-300 long-range air defense system. Ukraine claims that it had upgraded the radar to also operate with other types of modern air defense systems. In recent months, the Russian military stepped up suppression of enemy air defenses (SEAD) operations, damaging or destroying dozens of Ukrainian radars and air defenses systems. The losses included NASAMS and MIM-104 Patriot systems. Iskander tactical ballistic missiles and Tornado-S launchers were used in most recent SEAD operations. These ground-based systems allowed for a faster reaction time.

The Russian Ministry of Defense summed up the results of the Ukrainian landing operation in the Belgorod region on the evening of March 14. According to the Russian military, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were repelled and suffered losses during their retreat to the Ukrainian territory. As of the morning of March 15th local time, the Russian military is in the full control of the state border. There are no Ukrainian militants in the villages nearby. On March 14, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, together with the border forces of the Russian FSB, thwarted another attempt of the AFU units to break through into the territory of the Russian border Belgorod region. The target of the Ukrainian attack was the border village of Kozinka. The Russian MoD reported that the attack began at about 16.30 Moscow time. Ukrainian forces attempted to catch the Russians by surprise and launched a risky landing operation. Ukrainian sabotage group which included servicemen of the Ukrainian special operations forces and foreign mercenaries approached the border on board two Mi-8 helicopters. Up to 30 militants landed on Ukrainian territory, at a distance of 1 km from the State border of the Russian Federation. The landing group crossed the border by foot and entered the village of Kozinka which is located right on the border. There they were welcomed by the Russian military. Some Ukrainian forces managed to enter several houses on the outskirts. When trying to advance in the settlement, they were repelled by Russian forces. Several militants tried to gain a foothold in one of the houses on Republikanskaya Street, directly adjacent to the state border, where it was blocked by units of the Russian army. Having suffered significant losses, the Ukrainian militants began to retreat to the territory of Ukraine. During their retreat, Ukrainian forces entered a minefield, where they were destroyed. It was previously reported that the landing forces were waiting for additional Ukrainian reinforcement to cross the border on the ground. The Russian MoD confirmed that the Ukrainian group which attempted to cross the border to evacuate the wounded and killed Ukrainian saboteurs, was eliminated by the fire of the Tornado MLRS. The total losses of the Armed Forces during the landing operation amounted to more than 50 militants. The Russian MoD concluded that Russian forces repelled all attempts by Ukrainian militants to break into the territory of the Belgorod and Kursk regions of the Russian Federation over the past three days from March 12 to March 14. The total losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine amounted to more than 1.5 thousand militants, of which about 500 were killed, 18 tanks and 23 armored combat vehicles were destroyed. The Russian military and local authorities confirmed the full control of the territories of the Russian Federation. At night, the Governor of the Belgorod region came to different border areas, including the village of Kozinka. He confirmed the heavy damage to civilian infrastructure. The local civilians were evacuated, no civilian casualties were reported.

True,..i have read articles about conscription and ramping up arms production etc if russia attacks nato..there will be no time for that in all out war it will be mostly fought with the arms and materials that are available at the moment it starts.Seems to me they are fighting with a ww2 attitude of time and ability of gearing up over years...doesnt sound right in this age of modern warefare....just my humble opinion.
no no no danielle, logistics for embedded trenched ukrainian troops is totally different for NATO troops. food supply will not be a problem for NATO guys and NATO in a fight with Russia will be mobile as NATO will have total air superiority, NATO troops would not be stuck in trenches on a static defence line. NATO training will have pushed guys operating on lack of prolonged sleep, dealing crappy weather but in the end experience is experience
Deborah really should brush up on her military terminology . “Do good soldiering” , “excellent guns”………… I imagine should would get a lot more information from soldiers if she sounded more convincing.
Absolututely! Defense Editor? Self opinionated halfwit
Where is the video evidence for meat assaults?

$100+ billion and Russia has not been defeated.

This funny and clearly propaganda. Videos on social media tell a different story.
I agree with the pope. White flag on both sides. Then negotiate. If there's any arguments about what colour the flag is after negotiations they could just make a new one with red and blue and yellow and white. There's no shame with being a neutral country like Austria or Switzerland or Ireland.
neutral??
It’s hard to be neutral under occupation
yes like ireland switzerland austria.@@damarisquarz6262
