I have used Elementals while playing Clan Invasion era campaigns 3050. They are at their best against light mechs and light to medium armored vehicles. You can take down a heavy with a couple of stars but even then it is a hairy prospect. I have never been able to tackle an assault mech with Elementals. I tried once with four stars and the results were laughable.

But having an assault makes you need to get close and swarm them
That is always very risky but it can pay off big

If I remember cortectly, one main problem by the creation of the battle armor was the power supply. It tookquiet some time until that was fixed. Funny somehow, because the Night Hawk Battle Armor from the SLDF was already a thing, before the Clans made a new Battle Armor.
I think they still had a few of them, but not the means to keep them running anymore, like most of the things they took with them.

I really really want a suit of elemental armor. I always thought that they should have come with 2 hand actuators and mount the laser in the chest.

I wonder tho, are the hand actuators "accurate" enough for the soldier to grasp some sort of upscaled infantry rifle? Like imagine a 30mm autocannon, but magazine fed, used as an assault rifle.

Bro the more I learn bout battle tech the more I realize they could live in warhammer and Fuck them up at that. Elementals (terminator's with jetpacks) mechs med warhound titans assault bout half way to warlord but they can all jumpjet and all have insane weapons

I love BT, and think it's a more realistic future then 40K; But one Space Marine Chapter with a Titan Legion could wipe out the BT universe in about a month. Two words for you; Void Shields. 40K has em, BT doesn't. 1 BattleBarge alone could wipe out the entire BT universes fleets. And don't get me started on what an Emperator could do!

Are battle armors really worth the cost though? One point or innersphere squad- in cost one battlemech. so why not just build a mech?

One point will run about 2.5 mil cbills. That will get you a low end Light Mech or a used 40 tonner. Fire power wise, thats 5 small lasers, 5 SRM 2's, and 5 MG's. Not many IS light mechs mount that kind of fire power. Plus Elementals can be used in more places then a mech. So, long story short, a point is more cost effective then a light mech. High end Meduims and above, are a different story( cost and firepower wise).

Also, this is clanner tech, and their light mechs will probably cost more.

Against lighter mechs, their numbers allow elementals to prevail for a similar cost, on top of being useable in environments where mechs are too big to go. Against bigger mechs though... cost wise they would have overwhelming numbers, but there is only so much the light weaponry (compared to mechs) that elementals have can do against THAT kind of armor. Small lasers even in numbers are kind of a joke to something that can take PPC shots well
