I think the yoke "steering wheel" would make sense if you had a higher steering ratio. Then there would not be the problem of the mirror-inverted turn signal buttons.
@@Pecky138 Because this car can go faster than 50kph. I was driving a tank with such steering, but it's steering was hydraulic, ratio and weight were variable depending on speed, and it could only do 75kph. However, this couldn't be done in a car. Therefore weight would have to be extremely heavy at higher speed. Even so, the car would require a level of alertness and concentration that can't be asked of a driver outside professional racing. No, there's a much simpler solution fot this problem: steering column stalks and a round steering wheel.
I fail to see how that would improve it? When you're driving in a roundabout, you usually drive slow - so you would need to turn the yoke more to turn that much. The blinker buttons would be in different positions in EVERY roundabout when you want to signal that you're exiting the roundabout (which is required by law) since every roundabout has different radius - it's not something you can "learn". So, the question is: How can you sleep in it, knowing that you can only fold the 2 seats in the 3rd row, and not the ones in the middle row? I wish that they could make a Model X Plain with 5 seats only, so that we can sleep and camp in it.
Question, when indicated speed does not match GPS, will service mode allow you to correct?
Bjorn, when are you planning to get for test Lucid Air?
822kW max discharge is 1020Hp at the motor rotor shafts with 10% losses. it is NOT the actually power output of the motors. It is to be expected that it has more than 10% losses at full steam so actually 822kW max discharge is probably a little bit below 1000Hp on the motor shafts in reality.
About the noise canceling - there were some issues with the rubber insulation on the back doors, is it alright here?
The original tire have a different size between front e rear?
Bjorn, in M3 autopilot stays full on when you put the blinker (which is kinda annoying actually). You are saying that in S it switches off lane keeping and just stays on ACC?
What the heck someone just fight in front of you. 😂🤣
Fun fact: this was the first car where i read the car text "Marcusbil" rather than "Marcusail" :-d
1:50 LOL, that said it all :-D
22:17 Exactly the same as in BMW i3S that also only use camera based system. Super annoying! I was so happy to swap to a car with a radar again.
Radar is really bad btw...
@@DG-uv3zw You're delusional. Adaptive Cruise Control with radar is great. Loved it in my Golf and loving it in my IONIQ 5.
Yes, I have problems with „poor visibility“ quite often with my Model 3 after they have deactivated radar. It’s so stupid…
Old radar is just a radar with like 2 measuring points and useless for Tesla vision. New radar is coming for HW4. Will be much higher resolution
And radar is the main reason for phantom braking. Its also bad in winter and rain...
Yeah, maybe improved version but humans drive with vision so it seems like a step backwards for FSD.
Roads are made for human vision not AP
@@DG-uv3zw howcome the other OEMs manage with radar only solutions and yet have no phantom braking issues?
@@Timo-qb1gf other AP is a joke... Not even close to FSD.
@@DG-uv3zw You obviously never drive newish German cars, for example. Also if the new sensors are so great, they make all prior Teslas obsolete. Even though their owners payed big ££££ extra for FSD, which they'll never get.
@@adrianguggisberg3656 so on B roads in rain or snow AP works? Don't make me laugh. I owe E coupe 2020 and AP is a joke. I never use it. It works on well marked roads but it can disengage randomly. And it can swirl on uphills or merges... It's no where near FSD.
3:05 how do you call this measurement tool?
Scan My Tesla (look in video description)
15:48 "vision" or "wischen"? Makes sense in English and German, even if the meaning is completely different. 😁
Did Bjorn say the music is stored in USB stick? How can Tesla cars play music from USB stick? I cannot find a way for the media player to access the USB stick.
You put usb stick in slot, tap on the usb symbol and play the music. No magic involved here.
And you didnt even have hubcaps on pretty impressive...
New information about the insanely efficient Tesla Seni surrounds it's fantastic drivetrain and nearly 90% regen! I am very curious whether this new technology is making its way into new Tesla cars!
This efficiency improvement will make a huge difference to the real-world range, particularly in hilly routes. Can you accurately test the regen and compare with other cars?
I'm just wondering - is it legal in Norway to touch the phone during driving the car? In Denmark it's forbidden and fines for that are pretty painfull
Cell temp over 50 degrees? this sounds very concerning. According to the battery university after 45 degrees there is quite alot of battery degradation happening.
Nice Bjørn.
Btw I hope you soon will get the chance to test IONIQ 6 😁🙏🏼
Yeah same here
Me too. Hyundai exists in Thailand so it may enter Thailand's EV market.
Grazy 😊😊car,woh tx Björn
The Tesla has round cells and therefor a much better battery temperature management and less losses at low temperatures moreover the motors are very efficent. Third much lower weight.
We drive MS100D M3P i4M50
😉
Great review, and I think a lot of the nit picks are due to Tesla trying out things in their flagship (and low volume) vehicle that they wouldn’t in the MY or M3. Some will stick around, but others wont (I predict the yoke wheel will fade away due to the increasing prevalence of roundabouts in the USA)
Welcome to Tesla Vision Only.
It is shitty, Highbeam and Windscreen Wipers doesn't work properly and kameras don't work correctly with to much Sun or to Dark environments.
I've made 1800km last week and it's not near as good as before with Radar. I want my Radar back.
Incredible that, if I had the money, I could buy a car with Hypercar performance, Family car practicality, and have 400 miles of free range from my Solar panels in Summer.
Maybe a BMW M5 gets close to the performance and Practicality but comes with terrible Servicing and running costs.
Bjørn, Since you did not drive from 100% to near zero at 90 kph, how did you measure the battery capacity? Did you do it at 120 kph? I was really disappointed in the result of only 337 miles at 90 kph. I guess I will have to wait for a summer test with factory wheels and tires.
The test ended at Kløfta with 1 % left.
Can you share some thoughts regarding the interior quality compared to Taycan? Thanks.
The Taycan kills the Plaid for interior quality.
@Nick Beardshall Even with the Improved version of Plaid?😮
It's a matter of taste though. Less is more for me after years in a Tesla. Going back to the idea that drivers need to overwhelmed with buttons and LEDs, displays, inlays, vents, ... It's just not for me anymore.
@Matt Casters Agree...but rattling sounds is not what I want to hear from a 140+k eur car...I am very tempted by this Plaid but I am also "scared" because of the rattling, pannel gaps... That's why I am alternating between a Plaid and a Taycan Turbo...
@@mihaicostescu that rattling sound is part of sound test lol. 90% of cars has it with that song. Its more of a speaker setup, and that costs...
Just for curiosity, how are you comparing plaid vs taycan?
With similar specs, and performance you're going to spend well over 200.000k for Taycan!?! Not sure how are you comparing these cars
