Why that trains going only around Riga and not to for example Ventspils, Liepaja etc...is there any reason for that? I saw on train map, rails are everywhere in Latvia. Maybe it going to another places, but on internet is almost nothing and in Riga station I didn't see that too. That trains was little funny for us, I am not saying bad, just little curious because no toilet and no bumbers on wagons, so it's like rodeo when it slowing or leaving the station. :-) But no problem, actually that big oldschool russian trains are more comfortable than our modern trains with ergonomic seats (I hate that) and no space for legs, in your trains people can dancing or playing football without problem. ;-)

Actulay passenger tains are made in Latvia, during the soviet times. And about other cities, ther is some diesel passenger trains But the main reason, there is not so much passenger traffic.

Ventspils is actualy the only major city with no passenger train route sadly :( as for Liepāja, trains do go there twice a week. But for example, to Daugavpils, second biggest city, there are 3 pairs, if I'm not mistaken, of diesel passenger trains every day. The reason for no toilets most likely is the fact, that the routes are comparebly short (small country, you know) the longest one would be, I'm not sure, 5 hours maybe? But installing toilets in at least one vagon would make trips even more comfortable

@@ingarssamins1411 All trains I found were only cca 80 km around Riga + some trains to Russia, there was maybe train to Daugaspils, but as a tourist, I need more trains to Baltic coast cities and especially trains to other baltic capital cities, there should be something at least to Tallin.

@@Pidalin sadly, our nation chooses bus traffic for longer distances, I don't know why, so the main train traffic is between Riga and it's suburbs. There are some trains going further- Daugavpils, Rēzekne, Cēsis, twice in a week to Liepāja (which is a coastal city). The only train to other Baltic states is Rīga-Valga. From Valga you can take a train to Tallin. There used to be a train Rīga-Reņģe, and from Reņģe you could take a train to Mažeikai in Lithuania, they plan to recreate passenger traffic in the line. But I can relieve you- the future railway line RailBaltica will connect all Baltic States' capitals. We're also hoping for ministry to recreate passenger train traffic to Ventspils, another big coastal city.

@ingarssamins1411 because the bosses are trying to steal all the money, so no money is allocated for the development of this infrastructure, only for the maintenance of these vehicles in an attempt to prevent total disgrace.
