Sri Maha Mariamman Hindu Temple, Kuala Lumpur: This is Malaysia's MUST VISIT temple!

Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown is one of the must visit temples in Malaysia thanks to the stunning Hindu style architecture and ornate decoration.
The 6 metres high entrance tower (“Gopuram”) is its most striking feature with 228 idols carved into its five layers. There is a beautiful and richly ornate main prayer hall and a further four shrines located around the outer perimeter which is lavishly decorated with statues and murals on both sides.
It’s also on the edge of Kuala Lumpur’s Chinatown so can be combined for a visit with both.
The temple is free of charge apart from a 20 cents fee to store your shoes. Appropriate dress must be worn.

i have gone to this very temple as well and i amazed at how lively and festive it is compared to abrahamic ones like mosques and churches seem much more bland and lame and it's white or at most green all over while they are filled with colours.Seems like a pretty happy and fun religion.

I miss this temple I came twice to KL & I visited batu caves during renovation but I wish to climb the stairs but I think I won't have the chance to come back bcoz I can't afford the airfare & hotel,I'm praying that one day if TH-cam will monetize me then I can visit & vlog.it was my ultimate dream before I started vlogging back in 2020 before pandemic.

Impressive temple. I bet it cost a pretty penny. Rich colors and super clean temple. It takes lot of efforts to keep the temple that clean. on a lighter note, don't kill lot of birds right after coming out of the temple. Such expressions normalize killing birds. Birds Lives Matter too.

Agree that temple wasn't cheap to build or maintain. And will definitely try not to kill any birds 😅
