    Gary Colman was a on unrecognized under appreciated genius. He brought such warmth and humanity to the screen that you don’t find in young actors or in Hollywood today. He was a natural talent. I see a lot of myself in him. Being born on the 8th means that he is special. His sad and tragic life is a tragedy. I hope he finds happiness in heaven.

    Gary Coleman was one of my favorite actors growing up my mommy recorded this on the video machine for us and we watched this movie a lot over the years. I really love Gary's performance in this movie it shows how versatile he is he can play the role of Arnold a fun-loving little kid living with a white guy and a cool brother named Willis and also play his role in this movie to perfection being ultra dramatic ignition moments that needed and making you want to just cry because he was such a good good actor making you believe in everything that was going on at the moment.

    I haven’t watched this since it aired. Thanks for posting. I guess Ms. Tyson and Mr. O’Neal had nothing else on their schedule to do this hokey TV movie. On another note, Gary really wanted to shake his “Arnold” persona and character when he did this. This was a big deal back then. RIP to Gary, Cicely, Ron, and Yaphet. On another note, that girl that was diggin Gary’s character wouldn’t piss on him in real life. HA!

      @timothyhayden 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ladyofthecentury I don't think Playing with Fire was a good vehicle for Gary Coleman, for obvious reasons discussed above. I've seen Gary in post-DS interviews saying if he could do it all over again, he would have shunned show business and just lived a low key life. I was all about Diff'rent Strokes when I was a kid, but, behind the scenes, I think Gary was done dirty by everyone who used him as a meal ticket. As far as the other DS kids, I am freaked out that Todd Bridges and Dana Plato had a sexual relationship! I guess it was their way of seeking comfort from each other from the business.

      That's not how reality works, sadly. EVERYTHING eventually decays and stops working. You can't suspend the laws of physics because we like physical media. You could leave a new in box VCR and sealed VHS taped sealed in a vault and within a predictable amount of time the actual tape reel will degrade and the rubber parts in the VCR will disintegrate and the capacitors fail/leak. NOTHING lasts forever.

    Gary Coleman was a gifted actor and he had a hard life and his parents took most of his money and left him with nothing and its sad what happened to his life and him and people made his life hell and he trusted the wrong kinds of people b/c he was so honest and look what Hollywood did to him. Left him in the dusk and he had to pick up the pieces and move on alone. He died and Hollywood owed him alot. He was a man trapped in a small body. RIP Gary Coleman I hope your in happier place now. This world didn't treat you right and people used him too. He suffered from the Different Strokes curse along with Dana Plato. Her son killed himself. So sad.

    After different strokes went off the air everyone was so happy to hear of this movie coming on and they get to see their favorite actor once again in a role of a lifetime. The Hollywood producers just do not make the same type of movies anymore with that classic music they just don't even have the same type of cool music that they used to have why can't they even make music with the movies like they used to. The music in this movie really makes you more sentimental. 😊
