Just my opinion but I think Alexios is the canon character because spartan men were raised for battle and they were allowed to fight the women weren’t. And in the game you are allowed to participate in battle with the Spartans.

Well the answer is that it was the first opportunity to play as a female character only in an ac game and most of em did that, so after playing for 50+ hours, they found alexios weird or they might be simps. That's the reason. Alexios will always be canon to me though
One thing that makes this better than Kassandra's scene? You can actually hear the EXHAUSTION in Alexios' voice when he talks about the wars he's fought in, the friends he's lost, and the life he's lived.
Kassandra just kind of...says the lines, but Alexios' demonstrates a man who's just so tired and wants to rest.
I think Kassandra took all of it differently, when I saw this from someone who played her she seemed tired but emotionless in a way. That she just detatched her feelings towards it all (I would assume to cope with 2000+ years of life). That was the tone I thought at least, more like she just detached to deal with it that when she remembered it, it messed with her psyche when recalling those memories. I love how both Voice actors did this scene for different reasons tbh cuz you are right, he does sound tired in this scene
I dunno, there's also stuff Kassandra says with emotion that falls flat as Alexios, like when they mention ikaros being long gone

I like how he talks English during ancient Greek time but when he dies he talks on ancient Greek.
I like to think everyone spoke Greek the whole time but the animus was capable of translating most of it to English for Layla
But throughout the game the protagonist basically only speaks two greek words: chairé and malaka. I want the main character to actually speak the language they were born with. An accent doesn't count.

Man, I just saw this cutscene about 4 hours ago, its all I can think about. This game has been absolutely amazing, and I've started the Fate of Atlantis quest line, already finished the one with the Order today, that was spectacular aswell. Ubisoft outdid themselves on this whole game! Can't wait to play AC Valhalla next.

Layla was an ordinary human so just like many others who got an Isu artifact in their hands, she went mad. I’m not defending her o anything like that, I do believe Desmond was better but in the same game we can see the effects of those thing on normal humans
The fact that this is were the mordern day ended seemed very half assed i like this game but i was expecting a cliffhanger or something to conclude the story until the next game came out

The staff can change form. he was probably just using it as something less visible, aswell as the fact that he just basically teleported it probably came last.

Captain Adrian Dinca It could be an apple of eden but i highly doubt so, Desmond had one of the six, and i'm pretty sure his dad took it and hid it after he died in AC3, the one Altair had was destroyed in an accident, and Ezio hid one as well, so that leaves 3, although there may be 2 more that other hid away according to the AC wiki. I doubt he had one though, and he may of had little knowledge of the apple of edens because they didn't because relevant to the story/lore until 1190 when we begin Altair's journey.

I was watching this scene, telling my laptop "no no no Alexios, don't do this, don't give up, especially not for this rando" and then he did it and I had to watch the character I've spent 120+ hours with laying down his life and saying his last words, welcoming mother earth as she's welcoming him - in favor of an uninteresting side chick I couldn't care less about. No you only have to kill the 4 mythical beasts and that's it. This isn't an ending it's a side ending.
Funny enough I got this ending before I even reached Sparta so it took the tension out of whether my character would live or die vs deimos later on.

Can we just appreciate what ubisoft did with this game? by making the exact game twice for two characters that make tough choices (which means nothing by the end because A. We kind of know the real history and B. We know the history of the games and how things will turn out ). Ubisoft then threw a molotov at everything by saying that both alexios and kassandras DNA where found on the broken spear (I'm 140 hours into the game and still can't wrap my head around why they did that, why divide the fanbase even more than it already was with the reverse role? Why not make the story only for kassandra if she was canon all along? Why not improve on syndicate and origins of playing with both male and female that have impact on the story? Do you know how weird it will be for future games to refrence it without making one single playthrough canon or only calling them THE EAGLE BEARER) i know it's more fiction now than old sci-fi ac games with myths and legends but holy shit my brain will melt if i try to make any sense of everything that i played through, then they nuked everything with how the modern day is handled (i haven't completed fate of Atlantis yet so i don't know how it will go but my expectation low) but imagine captain america wielding mjolnir without doing anything worthy and not showing his worthiness and that's how it felt like when layla got the staff. Ac Vallhala also has a female and male protagonist but they are one and the same which will solves odysseys bullshitry but it's still a game about reliving memories and the old formula fits this concept too well for ubisoft to realize, it seems to be a trend in gaming (i still prefer a more personal story than too much freedom in "choice" these games because it's really fucking hard to do so), I'm excited to see how cyber punk and Valhalla will compare in executing this concept (i can already see cyber punk nailing this concept way better by the way).
