* @ge* orgepalacios934 No. They dropped parallel parking many years ago. We get this question a lot, especially from people who may have had an older sibling who took the test years ago. You will usually be asked to do a 'park and reverse', where you pull up to the curb and back up for a bit. When doing this remember to signal when you pull back out, and check for other cars (mirrors and over the shoulder). Also, you will be monitored for parking when you first leave and return to the DMV. Please tell your friend about our TH-cam channel and help us by subscribing - it helps others find our site.
Passed my test today at this location, I honestly feel like it's one of the more easier locations to take your test at. I took my first test at the E Sahara one and failed for things like going 3mph over in a school zone and being critiqued on things like my turning and lane position. I thought the reasons I failed that were told to me were completely dumb but nonetheless, I wanted to perfect them before the next time I took my second one at this location. Fast forward to today, I got an amazing instructor who told me the precautions before I started driving (things like 3mph over/under speed limit is too much, be wary of school zones, etc) and reassurance like that from the instructor really helps out with comfortability/stress during your test. I made a couple of mistakes like going in the wrong lane when turning one time, not creeping up close enough to turn one time, and another minor mistake I forgot. She ran these mistakes over with me at the end of my test when we parked back at the DMV and told me I ended up passing which came as a complete surprise. I believed my instructor showed me leniency within this test because of how super strict I assumed it was from my first test. Overall, the biggest thing that I learned and would tell others about the driving test is that it's partially based on your instructor. Obviously you need to have good enough driving skill when taking this test, but this is also another big factor. From the time I took the first test to the time I took my second test, there wasn't much of a difference within my driving skill. I was in belief that I was already efficient at driving when I took both tests. This is why I believe these tests are partially based on your instructor. Regardless, I hope everyone that takes this test succeeds and I appreciate this channel for assisting me 🫡
Thanks so much for your comprehensive and thoughtful sharing of your experience. This will be helpful to others. Drive safe, and please share our channel with others as the more views, the easier it is for others to fine us.
passed this morning. The route is as below: - turn right Elkhorn - turn right Aviary (school zone ) - turn left Centennial - turn left Aliante - turn left Deer Spring ( school zone) - turn right back Aviary (school zone) - turn left Elkhorn - turn left back DMV DMV parking lot speed limit under 15, follow instructor’s instruction to park, use turn signal to turn 1. The instructor will give you clear direction to change lane or turn. if they don’t say anything , just normal drive ahead, 35 2. This route pass school zone three times, if your bare eye did not see any kids, DO NOT lower your speed, just 35. Even the yellow light over your head keeping blink, it’s just CAUTION , do not lower your speed. Unless unluckily your test time is happened the kids go or off school, even there is one kid you can see along the road, then follow the road sign, I remember is 25, 3. Watch stop sign; scan left and right before go into intersection; SMOG, let the instructor see you turn carefully enough 4. When stop at red light or stop sign, break smoothly, do not break too hard to make the instructor feel uncomfortable. That’s ALL. Good luck to everyone!
@@jazmin7239 it went well!! It was not exactly this route but we did turn onto elk horn but I personally turned left, my female instructor she seemed to be of Asian decent just to specify who it was, gave very clear instruction and with two minor mistakes I passed, I feel that it goes a lot quicker than you think but it still was as nerv wrecking as I imaged it to be. If you know you can drive and have some confidence you will most likely be okay
@@jazmin7239 I know I wrote a pretty long paragraph but just to clarify although it wasn’t exactly this route it was very similar! I would say just keep practicing in like a box formation around the dmv if that makes sense
@@softxgurl1278 it was $22.00 after I passed and when you change lanes wait until after intersections, even small streets and when you get over to make rights wait until you see the dotted lines. When you stop at the stop sign near the exit of the parking lot to begin the test make sure all cars are completely gone.
My son just took his test today and passed. Because I obviously couldn’t go with him he’s pretty sure this is the route he had, but isn’t a 100% but it’s definitely updated, probably due to the construction on westbound Elkhorn. - [ ] Right on Elkhorn - [ ] Right on Aliante Parkway - [ ] Right on Centennial Parkway - [ ] Right on Aviary - [ ] Left on Elkhorn - [ ] Left into the DMV parking lot It took exactly 15 minutes. I'm bk I took My drivers test yesterday (Thursday) at 2:00 the traffic was terrible i made many mistakes I passed !! ❤ But there would had been less mistakes made if the painted lines was NOT faded out so badly , this is something someone NEEDS to address. Nevada needs to do BETTER if new and older drivers are going to study to do their best in passing this drivers test Nevada needs to do their best in making that 💯% possible I think through out the entire coarse 2 lines was all I visibly seen the round about was visibly seen and one straight away , once I reached one of the red lights going to the left I crossed over into the wrong lane bc it was impossible to see what lane was the correct one , the lines at the stop signs were damn near invisible then cutting through the residential area it was impossible to know where the Hell You was supposed to be I left happy i passed but bc of this in actuality it was a FAIL . The BEST advice I have to offer for new testers if your test is approaching and You live in the area I however did not I'm in clark County but no available openings to test brought Me there but if You are it would be best to go through that coarse a few times before You test its not the same as watching it in these videos i promise You ! Good luck to Yall 🚗🛻
Sorry to hear your experience was so bad. The challenge with faded lane markings is a real issue in Nevada, in particular where there are areas where the streets are wider and it is hard to know if there is one lane or two. We suggest a couple of things .. 1. Drive the routes several times (as you mentioned). This way you can have a strategy for each street. 2. If you are in a wide lane, and can't determine if it is one or two lanes, we suggest you drive on the left close to the center lane - at least that way you are properly be in the left lane (if it is a two laner). All this being said, it is frustrating. The Decatur and Sahara seem to be the worst with respect to faded lines. Good luck and keep us posted.
I just passed at this DMV! We took some streets like the video but they are currently doing construction near the dmv and my instructor took me there so keep an eye out for that! Good luck guys!
@@ajabeam139 hey, there were no roundabouts on the exam and my instructor was kinda older and had blond ish white hair. She was really nice and didn’t sound rude or anything. She gave pretty clear instructions.
Just wanted to leave a comment to say thank you for making these videos available for everyone who has any kind of worries/questions about their driving test!! I passed mine today by being able to rely on your help and practice said driving course !!
Taking it for the first time tomorrow here, knowing this is really helpful, I’ve been practicing the route as well as some possible different ones just in case. Thank you, I wish whoever is also taking it the best of luck! :D
Awesome, Good luck tomorrow, make sure you go early so you are not rushed, and remember the examiner WANTS you to pass, they just want to ensure you have the skills. The examiner will be jotting down a lot of notes of their clipboard which some students get phased by (did I do something wrong?). This is simply the examiner checking off on their list of activities they need to monitor so in most cases, these are positives. Let us know how you do - sound like you got this!
I have been in two car accidents. Neither were my fault. My biggest reasons as to why I don’t want to drive, why I don’t want a driver’s license. But circumstances have forced me into making a decision to take my driver’s test. Wish me luck yall. Can’t be a professional passenger princess anymore. Have to retire that title. Hopefully obtaining this driver’s license will give me a chance to experience a different outlook on driving.
@@hackthedmv just got my actual drivers license card in the mail today, my fiancé’s tryna hype me up because he says this is a big accomplishment. He’s been ‘training’ me in driving by myself because it’s honestly an anxiety inducing experience for me. Still looking forward to the day I can drive confidently without having mini panic attacks because someone cut me off.
I’m taking my driving test today at 11am at this exact DMW excited & nervous at the same time LOL UPDATE: I PASSED I WAS NERVOUS BUT ONCE I STARTED DRIVING IT WAS ALL GOOD JUST MAKE SURE YALL SIGNAL TURNING IN PARKING & ALWAYS LOOK “LEFT TO RIGHT” PASSED IT EASY!
For anyone about to take their test at this location, here's one piece of advice. When you're turning from Bradley to Elkhorn, there is road construction, and when you turn to Elkhorn, there are a lot of cones that will lead you to which lane to go. I made the mistake of not realizing when the road construction stopped and I was driving in the middle, DO NOT DO THIS IT WILL AUTOMATICALLY DISQUALIFY YOU!!! Pay attention to the cones, as soon as they end get back to your lane. I did great with everything else, but because of that, I didn't pass. On to 3rd try for me lol
Hi, I just wanted to update you. I passed!!! I was able to find an appointment with the DMV on Sahara, and I passed with a 97! Super happy. Thank you so much for your videos. they are super helpful 🙂
Hi everyone, I just wanted to hop in here and share my experience hoping that someone would find it helpful. I just passed my test today and I think the examiner I had was also a reason why passed given that he was very clear on the directions, and briefed me on what to expect before we took off. The mistakes he pointed out was; Stopping in residential areas before turning without a stop sign. He mentioned that I didn’t need to stop unless there was a stop sign. 2. Turning the blinkers on too early. 3. I took the test in my husbands truck so it was a bit difficult for me to stay in my lane all the time and I was driving a little towards the right and he told me to watch out for that. 4. Pausing or hesitating to make quick decisions; in essence he said I was being a little too cautious especially when turning into a by road and said to be more quick. Other than that, everything went well and my recommendations would be to first drive around the DMV area for at least a 3-4 days before your test to familiarize with the roads. Watch “hack the dmv” TH-cam channel and they are pretty accurate on the routes since the route I had today was based off of their routes. So practice around the dmv using those routes. Also, the test took only about 10-15 mins; you’ll be driving in 35mph, 15mph (I’m school zones), and 25mph in residential areas. They don’t test you for paralllel parking anymore. You need to have your car backed out from the dmv so make sure that when your car is parked it’s facing backward or else they’ll make you take the car out and park it and back it out again. No need to go through all that hassle if you do it right the first time. I would recommend to take the test on a Saturday early morning since then the roads are pretty much empty and easier to drive and not panick. Also remember to come to a complete stop at every stop sign. Other than that, practice smog and be alert when driving. I wish you all good luck and hope you also pass on your first try! :)
Good luck - beaming positive Karma your way. Let us know how you did and if the route was different than the ones we have on file please let us know so we can help others.
@@hackthedmv I failed lol the route was the same I believe, I just moved here and not too familiar with the streets so my apologies. @@hackthedmv it’s different from the 2 route you had posted. It was also a less drive as well so I wonder if that route was used frequently or it was due to the specific instructor picking that route. I’m willing to highlight the map and share with you if that’s possible.
@@ivannarobles7819 I have no idea the lady reschedule me I thought I was supposed to wait. But I found out you can go in for standby drive test on walk in Wednesday depends on how lucky you get.
That was a good catch! For the exam, if you have a situation with dedicated, marked turn lanes (dashed lines to show you where to turn), you should stay in your lane. In this case, there were 2 lanes turning left, our driver should have turned into the second (middle) lane on Decatur. This is an example of one of the challenges in Las Vegas where many of the lane markings of all types are quite faded and hard to see at times. The white car that went in front of our driver also did not execute the turn properly. They should have stayed in the 1st lane until they were completely through the corner, then used their turn signals and moved to the center lane. In the video they just jumped over 2 lanes without signaling. One additional note. When this video was shot there was a lot of construction around the DMV. I think their regular route is to get back to the DMV on W. Elkhorn, not going all the way down to Deer Springs. Good luck and let us know how you did on the test.
Is it true that it is easier to pass your road test in N Decatur than in DMV Flamingo? Gonna have my road test on the 20th in Flamingo. Kinda scared. 1st time to try
First time drivers are often seeking the 'easiest' DMV to take the test. The reality is all DMVs are about the same, it really comes down to how much time you spent behind the wheel and being familiar with the roads around the DMV so you are comfortable with your test. We have additional maps and routes for both DMVs at www.hackthedmv.com. Flamingo is a good choice, all the streets are wide and nothing tricky, but make sure you run the routes that are in our area. Watch for school zones, as you will encounter these no matter which route you take. GOOD LUCK and come back and let us know how you did! Hack.
Yes, this seems a little confusing but in the judgement of our driver the red car had come to a full stop before we did. If both arrive at the same time, there are a few rules that apply - in this case a car proceeding straight has the right of way over a car making a turn. I can see how it was confusing as our driver was following the rules of the road above - other cars were coming into the intersection making other decisions and frankly, jumped ahead. The most commons situations are if both cars arrive at the same time 1/ if there is a car to your right they have the right of way 2/ if one of the cars is going straight, they have the right of way.
hi, ended up taking the test on a different date than my last comment, my test is tomorrow. overall, do they test you on parking? i know parallel isnt in the test anymore, but i'd like to know if they test you on backing into parking spaces. thanks in advance!
No, they do not test you on backing into a spot. However when you start the test, you typically will need to be able to back OUT of the spot where you left the car. Good Luck.
You got this! At this point, you should have spent lots of time behind the wheel. If you have time, I would again runs some of the routes around the DMV so you are familiar with the roads - we have additional maps at www.hackthedmv.com. Also, go early so you don't feel rushed. One last note. Many students get freaked out because the examiner is constantly taking notes and students feel they are making mistakes. The note taking is just the examiner ticking off all the required turns and procedures, so even if you have a perfect run they will still be taking lots of notes. Positive Karma, you'll do great. This is a great example of having to deal with faded lane markers in many of the Las Vegas DMVs. On that initial right turn onto Bradley around 3:00 in the video, best to line up to the right of the yellow center line which is pretty visible. There is a parking lane on the right, although poorly marked, and could be mistaken for a lane if there are no parked cars at the time. Bottom line, wait your turn at the 4 way stop, then execute a smooth right turn. Always demonstrate to the examiner that your are 1/ waiting your turn and 2/ still scanning for pedestrians and possible cross traffic as you make the turn. Let us know how you did.
Depends how old you are, if your under 18 I think you gotta complete certain hours and do drivers Ed and pass it in order to get your license. You need to show proof of your hours too there’s a certain app for it to track it. Do more info on it
When you are turning into the main entrance to the dmv, so you are turning right into the dmv do you get into the bike lane or stay in the travel lane to turn right? The bike lane does not have any dashes on the lines, so I am confused on what to do. Also, when turning right onto Decatur when you need to get into the right turn lane do you just cross the bike lane to get into the right turn lane, or do you get into the bike lane and then get over again?
Good questions. In both cases, since there are no 'dashed lines for the bike lane, you should continue in the travel lane until you are the point where you need to make the turn. Same in reverse for exiting the DMV, simply turn into the travel lane (NOT the bike lane). The only time it you should enter a bike lane is if there are the dashed lines, which are typically 200 feet before an intersection, indicating that you will be sharing the lane with the bikes. Good luck and come back and let us know how you did. And please subscribe as it helps our ratings for other users.
Hi. Always better to make an appointment and best to time this at off peak hours (mid-morning or early afternoon) to avoid high traffic times. The NV DMV website indicates that they do allow walk in for 'all services' on Saturdays however I would encourage you to book in advance. Not completely sure if there website is completely accurate. Wait times for walk ins are generally in the 1.5 hour range, so judge your time accordingly. FROM DMV WEBSITE "We allow walk-ins for all services on Saturdays from 8am-4pm at the Las Vegas, Henderson, and Reno locations." Good luck and let us know how you did.
hello my test is next month, i'm nervous. i have been practicing about parking but i think North DMV you have to park to the right when you are finishing your test? or Instructor will let you park to the left? please advise
Hi, if you cruise through the DMV parking lot you will see the areas where you park after returning from the test. Typically you simply drive straight into the spot. When you mention parking to the left or right - that sounds like parallel parking which is no longer part of the test in Nevada. Good luck.
The examiner will direct you where to park when you return to the DMV (you can easily see the signs which indicating for cars returning from test drives). You can park nose first, which is the simplest.
That is a great question. When two lanes are merging, the driver in the 'through' lane has right of way. Although a little unclear in this case, we would suggest treat it as you merging into the left hand lane and as such, you should SMOG. Although it could be debated - a good rule of the road in this case. Let us know how you did - there may be more maps at www.hackthedmv.com.
Guys, please help! I'm a bit confused on the W Grand Teton Rd and N Bradley Rd intersection, there is a single solid line along to road (I assume it's shoulder?), when we turn right, am I supposed to be in the very far lane? (Cross the solid white line?) I've been practicing the route, I'm planning not to cross the solid white line when turning right. Is there any suggestion or tips?
In the particular intersection you mentioned, Grand Teton onto Bradley, the solid line on the right hand side is there because it is a bike lane. You should never drive in a bike lane, unless within 200' of an intersection when it should change from a solid line to a dashed line (or if you need to cross it to go into a driveway or or parking lot). When turning, it is always the best practice to turn into the nearest lane to you, although in most cases it is permissible to turn into either lane if traffic is clear. However for an exam I would always turn into the closest lane. Some intersections will have dashed lane control lines to guide you to the proper lane, but typically only at major intersections where you may have multiple turning lanes. Not the case at N. Bradley. Check back in after your test.
@@hackthedmv Hi, thank you for the answer! I passed my test today. Before I started my driving test, I asked the same question to my examiner, just to make sure. She said normally we can't cross the solid line, but for this case we can be in the very far right lane (which is crossing the solid white line) only if safe to do so. Thank you again!
Hi. I think your question is not related to stop signs but School Zones. In school zones, you will typically get one of two triggers to reduce your speed. Either "When Children Present" or "When Signals Flashing". If none of the conditions for the speed restriction are in place you can continue at normal posted speeds. Also, note that the school zone restrictions apply all the time - after hours and during the summer - unless indicated otherwise. Good luck.
@Cindy Osorio Nevada regulations to not clearly address this. Alternatively California states that drivers can proceed when the path is clear. It may make sense to err on the side of caution and wait until the pedestrian is clearly no longer in your lane and is well into the oncoming lane, before proceeding. This reference might help. ticketbusters.com/las-vegas-crosswalk-questions/
SMOG = Signals, Mirrors, Over-the-shoulder check, Go. Always do this when executing a lane change. Your examiner is constantly evaluating you to ensure you are aware of vehicles or pedestrians on either side of the vehicle - it is smart to slight exaggerate your head motions so that they know you are scanning and looking. GOOD LUCK on your test. Drive safe.
Hello I have a question I failed because I took my test on Saturday and there was a school speed limit zone around and I was going as posted even though there wasn’t school was that correct to do?? When the post says end school zone what’s the mph I have to go even if not posted?
First tings first. You should always respect the restrictions around school zones (ie when children present or when signals flashing). This extends to weekends and summer months when most schools traditionally are not in session. However if none of the restricted conditions are present, you can proceed at posted speeds although it doesn't hurt to slow down slightly and scan for pedestrians to show the examiner you are being mindful of the school zone. For your last question, it really depends on the street. In most cases, following the end school zone sign they will have another sign showing the speed limit. However if there are none, you will need to make an assumption, but 25 MPH in residential and 35 MPH on main roads should be safe.
I have my appointment this saturday, im nervous but hopeful. Are all routes for N Decatur about 15 minutes long? Im pregnant and when im nervous i have to pee constantly 😅
Hi Frankie, don't worry, most of the routes are 10-15 minutes long, seldom longer. Relax and you'll do just great. Drive safe - Baby on Board! Congrats.
Frankie, I wanted to add that we have a second route in N. Decatur mapped that you can see on our main website at hackthedmv.com/nv/nv-dmv002. If that link doesn't work, simply go to www.hackthedmv.com and look around for N Decatur. Thx.
@hackthedmv Thank you so much! I'll look into that route as well to see what those streets look like. I'll comment again on Saturday with the results 🙂
UPDATE: I didn't pass. I was too nervous and made too many dumb mistakes. The instructor was really nice tho. I will be making another appointment, most likely to the henderson location as this one doesn't have any before my permit expires. So I will try again early August. Thank you 🙂
I struggle to find the speed limits and recognizing them quickly. Can someone help me out. I feel they are going to be very stingy on this. My test is Thursday.
Hi, this can be challenging to all. Most speed limit signs are located AFTER you pass through an intersection. If you turn on to a main street from a driveway or a residential area you may not see a speed limit sign for several blocks. So what to do? 1. Know the area in advance and learn what the limits are. As a way to understand how the limits are established, take one of our videos and watch the entire video, and note speed signs as this will train you on what type of streets have certain speed limits. Best done on a PC. 2. If you are unsure, assume 35 MPH for major streets, and 25 MPH for residential areas. Unless posted otherwise. 3. Use other cars as a gauge - BUT - just because you are keeping up with the traffic flow is not an excuse if everyone else is over the limit. They will cite you for this. Common problem, but you will do fine. Come back and let us know how you did.
One additional comment. Most (but not all) of the instructors will tell you what the speed limit is when you are situations where you have not passed a sign (like when you first turn out of the DMV). However continue to watch for signs, as they will NOT advise you if signs are visible, like when you turn into a 25 MPH residential area. Again, good luck and please subscribe and like our channel as it helps others find us.
Hi everybody. They don't take this route anymore. They are turning right onto Elkhorn out of the DMV lot and heading east. There is also a route where they turn left onto Elkhorn out of the DMV, but, instead of heading straight on Elkhorn over Bradley, they have you turn right onto Decatur. My kid got failed (tested at 245 pm) for going 25 mph in a school zone and was told he didn't need to do so because kids "were not present". LoL. Talk about encouraging the very thing we get told is such a problem (people speeding through school zones, cross walks etc). I think this place is not a good DMV for a test The driver examiner woman Filipino is a @#$&+

Hi, you might want to check out this link on Nevada insurance requirements. doi.nv.gov/Consumers/Automobile-Insurance/ Insurance can work differently depending on the state, the situation and the carriers. In general terms the insurance company for the person 'at fault' should pay for damages. But best to refer these question to a local insurance broker - or - and online broker such as GEICO. Good luck.
Our understanding is that the 4 larger DMVs in Las Vegas all will take walk ins. That being said, people have complained about extremely long waits for stand bys. Much better to book an appointment, and to do so during hours where there will be minimal traffic. Avoid rush hour including school pick ups and drop off times. 9-11 am on a typical day is best. You can find more route maps and videos at www.hackthedmv.com. You got this !

Yep. 5-10 in the parking lot is good. DMV lots are always tricky - usually congested, lot's of people walking around and cars backing out. Slow roll the lot.
No you do not. They discontinued this as a requirement several years ago as the deemed it an 'optional skill'. If you are talking to an older sibling or your parents they might have had to parallel park in the past, but no longer needed. They only parking skill they observe is when you are in the DMV parking lot, and back out before the test and park at the end. Good luck, and let us know how you do!

Hi, as long as the vehicle is insured, you do not have to be on the policy. Here is what to bring to your drive test from the DMV website. dmv.nv.gov/nvdlteens.htm - Parent/Guardian (must sign a Financial Responsibility Statement and Affidavit for Minor to be Licensed) - Instruction Permit - Proof of Identity and Residency - Drivers Education Certificate of Completion or high school report card/official school transcript RoadReady log printout or completed - Application for Driving Privileges or ID Card (DMV 002): - Vehicle with valid Registration and Insurance* However as soon as you pass your test (I know you will!) you need to be added which is quite simple, either or call to your insurance agency or most can do it online. Keep us posted and please like and subscribe.
Roy, if not posted use 15 MPH as the max. The rule of thumb is "reasonable and safe" given the conditions. All of the LV DMV parking lots are congested with lots of pedestrians and cars - best to err on the side of being cautious. Good luck with your test and help others by referring them to our website www.hackthedmv.com.
Thanos, sorry to hear that but you'll ace it next time. Many people need to take a second time. Could you expand on "told my turns too wide" so that we can alert other drivers. Thanks.
@@hackthedmvhe lady didn’t really go over it but I also went into the wrong lane turning in a intersection. Also the route starts off going to the right of the dmv now then traveling to the route shown in the video
Yes, if you ask for a bilingual agent they will provide you one. Make sure you are there early so that they can set you up with a bilingual agent. Buena suerte and let us know how you do on the test.
Sky, you will do well. Make sure you show up early so you are relaxed, and spend as much time as you can running our routes in your area. The courses may change slightly, so always follow the examiner instructions. But if you have spent the time behind the wheel, and are familiar with the streets around the DMV, you'll do great. Good luck and let us know how you did.
@IamBEauty I assume you are asking if you can creep into an intersection if you have some kind of limited visibility. Yes you can - in Australia they refer to this as 'Creep and Peep'. After coming to a full stop, you can advance slowly (creeping) into the intersection. When you can confirm that traffic is clear, execute your turn. Important to make sure you are demonstrating to the examiner that you are aware of traffic both to the left and right - always scan both ways before you turn, even after the 'creep'. You got this!
Yes it is. When we made the video there was a lot of construction in the area - so I think the last little jog out to Deer Springs and then back to the DMV was due to construction. Typically they would head back by turning left on Elkhorn from Bradley. But yes, regardless, lot's of long straight stretches on all of the Decatur routes. Hope you did well - tell your friends about our channel pls.
They aren't using this route! I followed multiple people testing for two days. Time for an updated video. They obviously know you are trying to help people out and so have changed things up quite a bit
What I recommend is to say in your head "full and complete stop" (which is more like 1.5 to 2 seconds) after the car comes to a stop. 3 seconds is actually a little long - I find this method reinforces the action so you don't do a rolling stop. And don't forget to check left and right - sometimes best to exaggerate by moving your head so the examiner knows that you are scanning. Don't just use your eyes. Good luck and let us know how you did. And pls subscribe as it helps others find us.

No longer required. f you have older friends they may be tell you that they had to do it- - but it was dropped several years ago. Their rationale was that is not an essential skill, as technically you can keep driving until you find a spot where you don't have to parallel park. Please share our channel with your friends as it helps others find us. Good luck!
Took mine two days ago and passed!! Anyone reading this- you can do it!!
Awesome Stinky, congrats. Please tell your friends about our channel so we can help more teens. Following and liking us makes it easier for others to find us. Safe driving.
How long is it? My first time
Did they make u parallel park?
* @ge* orgepalacios934 No. They dropped parallel parking many years ago. We get this question a lot, especially from people who may have had an older sibling who took the test years ago.
You will usually be asked to do a 'park and reverse', where you pull up to the curb and back up for a bit. When doing this remember to signal when you pull back out, and check for other cars (mirrors and over the shoulder). Also, you will be monitored for parking when you first leave and return to the DMV. Please tell your friend about our TH-cam channel and help us by subscribing - it helps others find our site.
Can I ask you questions?

The route is as below:
- turn right Elkhorn
- turn right Aviary (school zone )
- turn left Centennial
- turn left Aliante
- turn left Deer Spring ( school zone)
- turn right back Aviary (school zone)
- turn left Elkhorn
- turn left back DMV
DMV parking lot speed limit under 15, follow instructor’s instruction to park, use turn signal to turn
1. The instructor will give you clear direction to change lane or turn. if they don’t say anything , just normal drive ahead, 35
2. This route pass school zone three times, if your bare eye did not see any kids, DO NOT lower your speed, just 35. Even the yellow light over your head keeping blink, it’s just CAUTION , do not lower your speed.
Unless unluckily your test time is happened the kids go or off school, even there is one kid you can see along the road, then follow the road sign, I remember is 25,
3. Watch stop sign; scan left and right before go into intersection; SMOG, let the instructor see you turn carefully enough
4. When stop at red light or stop sign, break smoothly, do not break too hard to make the instructor feel uncomfortable.
That’s ALL.
Good luck to everyone!

how’d it go is the same route?
@@yourstepsis6278I’m wondering the same 😅thing

Thanks for sharing with our viewers. 3rd time is charm, positive karma.
The mistakes he pointed out was;
Stopping in residential areas before turning without a stop sign.
Thanks for your comments. This is really helpful for others, appreciate you paying it forward.

Hii! At 12:22, did a student choose the right lane?
Hack.
I passed on my 1st try! Thank u for your videos
at 2:50, was the student waiting for the red car to go first?
Yes, this seems a little confusing but in the judgement of our driver the red car had come to a full stop before we did. If both arrive at the same time, there are a few rules that apply - in this case a car proceeding straight has the right of way over a car making a turn.
I can see how it was confusing as our driver was following the rules of the road above - other cars were coming into the intersection making other decisions and frankly, jumped ahead.
The most commons situations are if both cars arrive at the same time 1/ if there is a car to your right they have the right of way 2/ if one of the cars is going straight, they have the right of way.
hi, ended up taking the test on a different date than my last comment, my test is tomorrow. overall, do they test you on parking? i know parallel isnt in the test anymore, but i'd like to know if they test you on backing into parking spaces. thanks in advance!
yes they test on parking
No, they do not test you on backing into a spot. However when you start the test, you typically will need to be able to back OUT of the spot where you left the car. Good Luck.
I take my test in 3 days. I’m pretty nervous, but confident I’ll do good! Any tips?

One last note. Many students get freaked out because the examiner is constantly taking notes and students feel they are making mistakes. The note taking is just the examiner ticking off all the required turns and procedures, so even if you have a perfect run they will still be taking lots of notes. Positive Karma, you'll do great. Please subscribe as it helps others find us.
Thank you, on that right on Bradley is their still a solid line or is it a dashed line so I can turn onto it?
Does anyone know what you need to do after you receive a drivers permit?, i wanna take the actual test before the summer comes up
Depends how old you are, if your under 18 I think you gotta complete certain hours and do drivers Ed and pass it in order to get your license.
And please subscribe as it helps our ratings for other users.

whats a good location to do standy on a saturday, and how longs the wait usually?
FROM DMV WEBSITE
"We allow walk-ins for all services on Saturdays from 8am-4pm at the Las Vegas, Henderson, and Reno locations."
Good luck and let us know how you did.
hello my test is next month, i'm nervous. i have been practicing about parking but i think North DMV you have to park to the right when you are finishing your test? or Instructor will let you park to the left? please advise
Hi, if you cruise through the DMV parking lot you will see the areas where you park after returning from the test. Typically you simply drive straight into the spot. When you mention parking to the left or right - that sounds like parallel parking which is no longer part of the test in Nevada. Good luck.
Took mine today, luckily i passed ❤🎉. Thanks to Him ☝🏻
Congrats! 'Him' likes people who practice - I'm sure it was the two of you. Safe driving.
@@hackthedmvdo I have to be on my sister's insurance to do the driver's test I hope not 😊
Everyone who already took the test…can you decide by yourself how to park, forward or backward? Or will the examiner tell me?
The examiner will direct you where to park when you return to the DMV (you can easily see the signs which indicating for cars returning from test drives). You can park nose first, which is the simplest.
For the lane shift at 4:41 would you have to SMOG or can you just go?

So even if there’s no kids should I drive the speed limit on the sign still or just go normal speed???
Good luck.
mine is tomorrow i hope i pass 🙏🏼
Good luck tomorrow. I'm sure you'll do great. Let us know how you did and if you found our channel helpful like us and tell your friends.
Do you have to wait for pedestrians to cross the street completely even if they aren't in your way to proceed forward
Also what does smog mean ?
Congrats.

I think this place is not a good DMV for a test

Good luck.
@@hackthedmv thanks
Does this location accept walk ins for drive test? If so, how long is the waiting time?
Our understanding is that the 4 larger DMVs in Las Vegas all will take walk ins. That being said, people have complained about extremely long waits for stand bys. Much better to book an appointment, and to do so during hours where there will be minimal traffic. Avoid rush hour including school pick ups and drop off times. 9-11 am on a typical day is best. You can find more route maps and videos at www.hackthedmv.com. You got this !

I’m 19, would I need to bring someone with a valid drivers license with me to take the test? Or could I just come myself and take the test?
Since you are non-licensed, you will need someone who has a valid license to take you to the DMV. This can be anyone - parent, relative, friend etc. If you pass, you will get a temporary license and you are permitted to drive yourself home. Please subscribe to our channel as it helps others find us. And good luck on your test.
What is the speed limit for the parking lot
There are no signs but 8-10 mph is fine, I passed!
Yep. 5-10 in the parking lot is good. DMV lots are always tricky - usually congested, lot's of people walking around and cars backing out. Slow roll the lot.
Do you have to parallel park in order to pass?
No you do not. They discontinued this as a requirement several years ago as the deemed it an 'optional skill'. If you are talking to an older sibling or your parents they might have had to parallel park in the past, but no longer needed. They only parking skill they observe is when you are in the DMV parking lot, and back out before the test and park at the end. Good luck, and let us know how you do!
Thank you... I take my test tomorrow.
is hand over hand steering allowed?
Yes it is allowed. Typically used in low speed situations when turning at an intersection or when parking your vehicle.

Hi, as long as the vehicle is insured, you do not have to be on the policy. Here is what to bring to your drive test from the DMV website. dmv.nv.gov/nvdlteens.htm
- Parent/Guardian (must sign a Financial Responsibility Statement and Affidavit for Minor to be Licensed)
- Instruction Permit
- Proof of Identity and Residency
- Drivers Education Certificate of Completion or high school report card/official school transcript
RoadReady log printout or completed
- Application for Driving Privileges or ID Card (DMV 002):
- Vehicle with valid Registration and Insurance*
However as soon as you pass your test (I know you will!) you need to be added which is quite simple, either or call to your insurance agency or most can do it online. Keep us posted and please like and subscribe.
What’s the speed limit in the parking lot?
Roy, if not posted use 15 MPH as the max. The rule of thumb is "reasonable and safe" given the conditions. All of the LV DMV parking lots are congested with lots of pedestrians and cars - best to err on the side of being cautious. Good luck with your test and help others by referring them to our website www.hackthedmv.com.

Is it okay to come up a little if you can see
@IamBEauty I assume you are asking if you can creep into an intersection if you have some kind of limited visibility.
@@hackthedmvwhen you slowly “creep” do you have to stop before proceeding after stopping the first time
Holy cow ! This is a long route!
Shitty experience. I got a mean old lady for my road test. She was strict. She told me to put on the air and told me to walk faster to the car .
Sorry to hear about that. Despite all of that - did you pass? 👃
Test on the 30 do u have to wait 3 seconds at the stop signs?
What I recommend is to say in your head "full and complete stop" (which is more like 1.5 to 2 seconds) after the car comes to a stop. 3 seconds is actually a little long - I find this method reinforces the action so you don't do a rolling stop.
And don't forget to check left and right - sometimes best to exaggerate by moving your head so the examiner knows that you are scanning. Don't just use your eyes.
Good luck and let us know how you did. And pls subscribe as it helps others find us.

No longer required. f you have older friends they may be tell you that they had to do it- - but it was dropped several years ago.
