  • Bloodywood is an Indian metal band that came together in 2016. Starting off with parodies and covers of Bollywood songs, the band found their signature sound and started creating their own music and videos. With many viral hits in their stable, the band did their debut European tour in 2019. After six years, they are now headlining festivals and are an integral part of the Indian metal scene.
Produced and filmed by : Bimal Thankachan

Aww... I love that the boys look at themselves as brothers before bandmates. That's part of what makes their music so genuine.

I found out about Bloodywood thanks to you tube algorithm, my first song was Dana Dan and it resonated with me, it's the most powerful song I've ever heard then I listened to the rest of their songs and now I'm hooked. I was so impressed by them that I begged them to come play in my state and Karan replied to me. They are truly the best band in the world.

If you have been to their concerts of late, Bloodywood are much bigger than this video even positions them. Humble.
Sold out europe, sold out UK.
Possibly the top 10 in the world right now.
Rakshak is a monumental record already.
    Waiting for their next!

I found Bloodywood back in 2017 or 2018. In my experience, Bloodywood is not only a break-out metal phenomenon, but bigger than that, Bloodywood is about one word: Change.
Too often, things seem as if they are too big, too daunting to think something small can have an impact in the world. Yet Bloodywood is the epitome of an old Japanese proverb: "For want of a nail, the horseshoe was lost. For want of a horseshoe, the steed was lost. For want of a steed, the message was not delivered. For want of an undelivered message, the war was lost."
Bloodywood is that nail the world needs. They see the same things that the common folk in the world does. They empathize with the common folk, because they have dealt with very human things. But they also bring a core message that I think is badly needed to be heard: That as people, individually and collectively, we have the power of choice, and the autonomy to decide what kind of life, what kinds of societies, and what kind of world we want to live in and pass on to the next generation. While not necessarily an original message, Bloodywood's way of putting that message out there makes them unique. They not only save lives, they help those struggling with issues in life. They saved my life with Jee Veerey in 2018. They convinced me to keep fighting to live, and not let the internal darkness overwhelm me. They also show how someone like me can take my own experience, my own pain, my own trials and tribulations, and transform them to a positive good in the world. Being a military veteran, as well as a chronic depressive, depression hits hardest for me, because I have fought that mental war for years. Yet, after Bloodywood and Jee Veerey, I took everything I had dealt with and kept hidden, and now I help others as an informal or impromptu counselor of sorts, and I do what I do to help myself mentally, and at the same time, encourage others to reach for the hope that things will get better, if they simply find a reason to keep going, and choose to strive for the better days.
The point is, this band, who came out of nowhere, helped me in more ways than I can count. Should I ever meet them, I would tell them thank you. Because they truly deserve it.
They are changing the world, whether or not they know the true impact of what they do. It is why I will always support these men from India that decided to do what they have already done in such a short period of time.
