  • Idu Idu. The Uchualimi Festival holds yearly in Ebu town located in Oshimili North LGA of Delta State Nigeria. The festival is held every Easter Holiday and lasts for about five days. This is day one of the festival. The Ogbonomodu masquerade is the lead masquerade and possesses an overwhelming presence. It is usually escorted by other smaller masquerades known as egwu gwu. Also in its entourage is the one that wears a mask known as the Okpodu. The Okpodu masquerade is very vibrant and youthful. It is very scary and usually the youths use it to harass other youths or rivals from other villages. All in all, the festival is usually five days of serious fun. Enjoy.

Great culture. I miss this a lot. The dancing steps.... ekwekwe.. that they put in the dance very impressive.
