The media is what created all of that attention. Counting on ratings by talking and focusing on the Browns, because of the Odell trade. In the process, building up public expectations due to all of their dumb discussions about the potential of the team. Then when it didn't live up to those expectations, they cashed out by dogging on the Browns for not living up to the expectations that they built.
He didn't "grow up" under Kevin's watch. He's always been the same Baker that works his ass off. You people say that he's "matured" all the time, typically only when the team is on a roll. Lol Which I find it funny when people say that, because it just shows that they aren't really even paying attention. They're just saying it because they generally feel good about the team based on their performance. And since most people ignorantly make judgements and decisions based on their feelings, they perceive him being mature in the moment, based on the positive perception of the team.

Ben didn't even try to recover that ball on the 1st play
To be fair it appeared he went into more of a blocking mode, or just a plain "I'm gonna put my huge body in between the 11 defenders and the ball and let my hands guy try to recover this" mode. It wasn't a terrible decision on his part. If the HB would've dived for it instead of letting it roll so much they would've recovered the ball.

This was by far the greatest 1st quarter i’ve ever watched
in hindsight, this game was over after that botched snap by pouncy. this miscue on the snap, both ben & connor's nonchalant attitude towards trying to recover the ball, and the sea of browns defenders in the end zone rabidly trying to grab the ball, all of that just summed up the steelers day on the first play of the game. browns just wanted this one more.

As a Bills fan, I'm so glad for Cleveland and i hope they do well this year. I'm glad that Cleveland finally has a winning team. It reminds me of how Buffalo was right before Sean McDermott's reign. We had a 17 year playoff drought, but McDermott has brought back a winning culture, a division title, 3 winning seasons in 4 years, back to back double digit winning seasons, and going to the playoffs 3 times in 4 years. I disagree, yeah sure Tomlins Steelers are masters when it comes to playing down to their opponents and choking in unnecessary fashion. But name one head coach who held his franchise consistently at a high level apart from Belichick (14 straight non-losing seasons). Also don't forget all the talent he "wasted" like AB, TJ etc. flourished under him in the first place. But man they just haven't been able to execute in the most important moments, especially the last couple of seasons.

As a lifelong Steeler fan I have to give the Browns some props Mayfield has matured into a pretty decent QB. The 2 Running Backs are very good. Seems they got them a good coaching staff also. They’re not far off. Really close to taking out the Chiefs. I like their build. They’ve done an admirable job building the team.
