Jack, if you take the coordinates of the jungle in the overworld and divide the x & z by 8 you can get the nether coordinates so you can place the portal accordingly

As he said, 8 blocks in overworld is 1 block in the nether, so you can do it that way, but the best way I've found is that when I explore, I always keep obsidian on me so when I find a cool biome, I make a portal, go through, and record the coordinates. That way it can't be in the wrong place in the overworld and I can make my way back in the nether and set up a path later.
