A wise old man once said when they asked him about the best way to learn how to code : "Just see how it's done and do it and keep doing it until u get use to it" .
Absolute gold. I'm a self-taught software engineer, without a degree, and I used the approach you recommended: let the job descriptions be my "North star" for prep. It's difficult, but certainly doable. Subscribed 🍻
You got this! That's such a special place to be in because you're discovering something new and exciting every single day. What's the first thing that drew you into software engineering?
@@antonellamar Ive been searching for a more meaningful and sustainable career for a few years now just trying to figure all of that out and landed on the tech industry in general, software development seemed to make the most sense for me considering that it's going to be needed for well into the foreseeable future and you're able to build applications and solve problems that will arise. I like knowing that I'm learning a skill that will truly contribute something valuable to the world at large. I am kind of intimidated a bit though honestly because so many people say how hard it is but I'm on the road and excited to learn! Thank you for the encouragement seriously!
Hello Antonella! Can you please post on TH-cam more often? I have uninstalled instagram for my mental health but I still love learning from your videos! 😊
Firstly, I'm honored for this ask! Secondly, makes total sense. A sm cleanse would probably suit me as well. My goal for this year is to be more consistent and share more valuable long form stuff on here, so you got it! 😊
Thanks for sharing! I think you might be among a select, fortunate few able to obtain a CS degree midway through a different career. Would you say that it’s still realistic in 2024 for self-taught programmers without CS degrees to land an entry-level SWE role?
Hello, new to your channel and subscribed today. Please help me suggesting a good note taking app for software engineers , where i can organize my notes well. Also the app should be budget friendly 😊
Thanks so much for subscribing! Hope you enjoy the channel and find some useful stuff. That's such a great question!! I honestly have not found my ideal note taking app for my software engineering stuff. I just use OneNote out of convenience at work, but I'll keep testing stuff that's out there and share if I find anything. Otherwise we may just have to build it ourselves lol
@@antonellamar Thanks for sharing 😊. Noted your points. Will be connected to your channel for more informative stuffs. Love your channel 👌 and lots of things to learn from you . Have a good day !
Best bet for this case is applying to companies that offer visa sponsorships if you require assistance on that front. Wishing you all the best on your search!
And I would refrain from any big ticket resources like expensive courses and such unless I had already put a significant amount of hours into all the free resources that are out there.
That's why most resources on there are free. There's so much out there to get you started without having to put lots of money upfront for something that you may not be sure about yet

Wise indeed! I'm tempted to get this quote hanging over my desk in huge letters. The whole video summed up perfectly in one phrase!

Best bet for this case is applying to companies that offer visa sponsorships if you require assistance on that front. Wishing you all the best on your search!
What resources would you use ? U said a lot and nothing at the same time
They're all in the doc
