Please let me know in your own words what your thoughts are! How important is it in review videos that all of the small loose items be properly placed & lined up? Is it okay if I group them together more, leave some off to the side, and/or use the neatly-presented official Playmobil illustrations to talk about them?
I think you could easily group them together and only talk about new or interesting small items. And maybe use the pictures with white background instead of the back-of-the-box pictures. White background pictures can be found on playmobil’s website or google :D and if you just mention each item, you don’t have to show each one. Maybe show the stickersheet and stickered or printed items. I really love your videoes and appreciate your honesty with us viewers. Looking forward to your next video ;)
Maybe you could do a look through a playmobil catalog for starting it of because you said once that you want to do it but since now you never did(i'm from Germany sorry for maybe language😁)
My daughter and I are avid Playmobil collectors and you're right, the little pieces get out of hand. We use stackable containers with compartments to store all of those bits and pieces. We have enough weapons to start a tiny war. When kids come to play we only put out half the pieces that actually come with the sets. I love your reviews and I think it would be a great idea to just show the main pieces. Trust me, we don't care if you don't show every fork. You have the best reviews concerning Playmobil on TH-cam and we miss them.
Personally, I would be fine with not seeing all the accessories and little itty, bitty details lined up perfectly in the reviews, just seeing them pushed to the side would be perfectly fine with me. I really like your idea of just showing off the accessories by basically "reviewing" the back of the box and only physically reviewing the actual main attractions(buildings, vehicles, animals, figures, etc).As you said Playmobil really does set every little itty bitty thing up perfectly on the box images. Another thing I would immensely enjoy to see would be you getting all your Playmobil up off the floor onto a table so you can start adding "scenery" to make it look really nice. Personally, I enjoy seeing your Playmobil layout almost more than the review videos and would really love to see more of it. Also one more small thing, I would really like to see more Playmobil train reviews as I am a big train buff and also collect Playmobil trains myself.
Thanks for the update!! I totally understand your points on the Playmobil sets. Having those little pieces avalanche onto the floor while you're trying to transport the set would be infuriating.
I think that using small pieces of clay or Blu Tac to hold down accessories would work. You would only have to set everything up once and everything would stay in place :D
Here is my proposition; Open the box at your studio, show the content more or less in the same way that displayed on the box and highlighting key-items of interest. About reviewing recent sets; Playmobil quality tend to be lower these days than in the past and a main point of watching is to see what EXACTLY we get in hand. (and then free to you to perfectly pose any little element on your layout later, for yourself) This is, i think, the best way to continue this channel if you want it. OR you can review it more casually in the Playmobil room like in this video; and enjoy it more like a relaxing moment than the high quality content on Jangbricks (much in the way of the JangCity updates). Thank you for your EXCELLENT work in both channels! This is amazing that you are able to review so much content, especially in regard of the crazy speed at which new Lego sets come out. If you find your way to manage Jangmobil this is for the best, but dont overheat.
Cool bro! I love playmobil so much and watch your vids all the time and really like your reviews! Do what ever you need to do. And take the time you need. I'm just happy your not ending this channel or reviewing the sets. Thanks Jang👌💖
Hi, Jang, I used to play with playmobil at lot and loved to play with it. I fully respect how annoying and hard it is to set up all the tiny little details, all the accessories and tools, etc and that's one thing that has also annoyed me about playmobil. Even with small hands, I found I was always knocking ,what I had just set up, over and having to start again. It requires a lot of time and attention to set up all the small details , in playmobil. So I would fully respect you, if you didn't set up all the small details and just show then separately, and show us , how it would look , from pictures on the box. I fully understand , your announce with setting up playmobil. What ever you choose , I am sure, I and everyone else who watches this channel, will respect what you choose to do. Keep up the good work on this channel!
Jang you're a BUSY BUSY BUSY man, but you're also a great man! We know Lego is your #1 priority & fully understand why. No need for excuses or apologies if it takes a few months to get a new video up on 1 of your alternate/secondary channels. Also [edit] - Do you think the issue could be that they're not nearly as interchangeable as Lego? You have an amazingly creative mind, you're practically the MacGyver of Lego, you can take a dozen random Lego pieces, a rubber band & a toothpick & somehow magically come up with something that's a borderline work of art. Could you possibly be frustrated at your PlayMobil progress because you know how to make nearly anything completely from scratch with Lego bricks, & the perfectionist in you subconsciously tries to come up with something just as new & elaborate with PlayMobil, but since nearly all the customization with PlayMobil is just putting accessories in different places (rather than completely altering the main build) it really messes with your expectations of the different things you can do with them?
I watch your channel for your voice, your opinion, and your passion, not your perfection. Please lean toward content rather than perfection! I don’t care in accessories are disheveled :)
I love all of your videos you do an amazing job. My son and I watch all of your LEGO and playmobil reviews. We collect both as well. And as for displaying the accessories that’s not a big deal if you leave that out most people know those are a real pain to display and keep up with.
Review the item in your studio with your level of perfection and placement. Then choose to put it into your city (or not) in any way you see fit. Thats how you've done your LEGO city for years and got great response. Why do it different for Playmobil? From : (American who lived as a kid in W. Germany in late 80s - not Military) I still have all my old Playmobil sets.
I enjoy your play mobile reviews. As a kid I liked play mobile more than LEGO. But now I’m a total AFOL so I am a fan of your Jang Bricks channel. Anyway, it may be too late to comment but here’s my thoughts. What I liked about play mobile most (and think they still excel) is those small detail pieces. It’s what I enjoyed as a kid, but they were kind of a pain because they were easy to lose even if you were trying to be careful. I think the box pictures would be fine for showing us a picture perfect display. From your videos, I’m more interested in what you think about the sets as a whole, or maybe key little things that you find are a neat that the set included. Or even which ones look nice but aren’t very functional in terms of the plastic people being able to hold. Or even if it was just a weird or unnecessary item to include. That’s what I would like to hear/see from you. Doing all the “picture perfect” set up isn’t needed when you can show us the play mobile pictures. Of course, what would be cool is if you yourself had come up with a totally different take on how to display things or a humorous idea to give us alternative perspectives on the set-then I’d love a detailed view (e.g., instead of neatly lined up toys in the kid’s room of the house, instead show a typical messy kid’s room with toys strewn all the floor, drawers left half open, etc.) Honestly, I would really like to see a play mobile city like your LEGO city. Not necessarily on the same scale but just to see how it would look all put together. The other thing that I perked up at was when you said you still had more vintage sets to review. Yes, I would totally love to see those!
I know exactly what you mean about the setting up with all the tiny accessories. I am excited to see a new video. I think for myself I would love to see new videos even though the sets aren’t exactly perfect. As a kid I too couldn’t get Playmobil toys but As an adult I can buy it and share the hobby with my kid.
Jang, come back! We don't care about "perfect" placement. That OCD issue is holding back your enjoyment (and ours)! Just have fun! And we will have fun with you. Let go, be a kid again.
Reviewing illustrations that have already been provided by Play Mobil would be perfectly fine! The value of your videos are the reviews itself in my opinion! keep up the good work - big fan of JANGBricks as well :)
For me its complete OK if you do it your way,but continue the channel. I love your wor which has me brought back into Playmobil and you show everything so fantastic. Go on and be with us.
blu-tac? Store displays tend to use hot glue which can deform the plastic, though has the advantage of being clear. While mileage varies on what families and individuals want, it's the small details that make playmobil stand out so it would seem counter intuitive to side line them too much. At least the take-along playsets are quick to set up and tear down. Would love to see a review of the Pirate Stronghold (tavern) and upcoming halloween sets.
I enjoy LEGO and Playmobil. They are both great at different things. I think it’s a difficult situation because I also enjoy watching both of your channels (JANGBRiCKS and JANGmobil) So I can appreciate how difficult it must be to fit it all in somehow. And yes setting playmobil up is fiddly but in my case it gives me something to do. And I personally like that aspect of it. But again I can appreciate that it’s frustrating for some people because of how long it can take and as mentioned how fiddly it can be. Please keep making content on this channel when and where possible because I’d be lost without it. Both channels are fantastic and I really enjoy your content. Keep up the superb work 👍
I think it's ok to leave out most of the smaller parts and maybe show the back of the box to show what they are. Focus your reviews on the main stuff of a set like buildings, vehicles and figures. Maybe you can use some kind of sticky stuff to temporarily fix some of the smaller parts. BTW. Are you planning to customize the buildings with expansionsets? That would also be nice to show off
For me the fun part will be showing all that tiny little accessories, and place them in the sets and all that stuff, but do what you prefer at the end It's your collection and I personally enjoy your videos no matter what
Love the videos! I agree with many others on this. Just do the basic setup and show the miniature pieces on the back of the box. I love hearing the descriptions on what the different parts do, meaning how they work in Playmobil, more so than seeing every tiny accessory in it's place. Keep up the great work!!
Jang I am a subscriber and I support you fully. I think that not showing every detail is a good idea because it saves time and makes reviews easier. Can I make a request though? Can you please please please review the rc steam train soon?
Hey, Jang. I think it would be alright if the things are not exactly lined up where they should be. I think as long as you show what comes in the set that should be fine. Can't wait to see more videos in the future! 👌🏻
As you said in your pinned comment, even using the instructional booklets would be fine to talk about some of the pieces. What ever works best for you would be fine, I'm just happy to get some more Playmobil videos!
I found your channel when researching the playmobil trains which helped out alot, so thank you for sharing. My suggestion would be to continue your reviews but not set up the small detail pieces untill you are ready to set it up in its final location. At that point take still images of all the great detail pieces and parts all set up and add them to the video to show the level of quality you get with the playmobil products. This way your not doing double the work in the set up, but showing everything through the magic of video editing. Besides, showing the final product all set up with all the fine details on your layout looks better. Just my thoughts, thanks again for sharing.
Don't worry, Jang. Good enough is good enough when it comes to reviewing and presenting your Playmobil sets. I find hearing your opinion on them is more important than the perfect display.
Put in tables, set up a nice display, make a video, and then leave it a while. Add an update every once in awhile when you have something cool to add. For fun, put your PM figures in the Lego town and your Lego minifigs in the PM town. Same with your Halo figs. Just mix em around for show and have fun. I'd like to see your Halo figs invade New Jang City sometime. Definitely continue to focus on your Lego town - finish that defense base! :)
I honestly don't think the perfect posing for your reviews was ever necessary. I always had a mental note of how nice it was that you went through the effort, but at the end of the day I watch these reviews for your informative opinions, and not for the placement of items in the video. So long as we see the contents of what comes in a set, and we get your thoughtful insight on them, I'm all for whatever ends up being most convenient for you.
Do what ever you want in your playmobil videos and as long as your happy I will still watch because you are so awesome and amazing take your time though its ok if you take breaks on this channel I understand :D
@JANGmobil My 5 year old and I love your reviews, both here and your brick channel. I would encourage you to continue with your reviews. I don’t know much about the set up but can you use rubber cement or glue tabs for set up and movement of pieces from space to space? Best of luck!
I understand what you think about the small details I love playmobil and I would love for you to do more videos and reviews about it you can do what ever you want in the playmobil videos and leave as much out as you need as long as you make videos on this channel about playmobil and reviews I am happy thank you. I also aprreciate all the work you put in to these sets and I respect that so do what ever you need to and take your time :D
I think, you continuing with reviews here is good, however, watching your videos, i feel, that you are a MASTER at putting such a warm positive spin on any of the negatives you need to vent out, whatever you choose to do, Lego, playmobil, anything else. We the viewers will inevitably stay behind you, for the second time tonight, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK! PS. hope this was at least a tiny bit helpful
i think it would be okay for me if you show the sets in that room posed up in your town. And use the Box art to show things your camera could not get enough. Especially the big buildings.
To me it would be perfectly ok if you group things together just showing them off, it doesn't need to be so neat. Or just show the small pieces by showing off the back of the box. You could always do like you do with your Lego channel and make a review video, and then show us later how it looks when you have it set up in your display area. It is the general review that is fun, and what you feel about the sets.
Hi Jangmobil! I'm enjoying this channel and i'm hoping to see much more videos from you. I have liked playmobil all the time since i was a child in the 80's and what i see now is a revolution in playmobil with dreamworks dragons, ghostbusters and upcoming dreamworks Spirit. Much like lego did with Star wars in the early 1999/2000. What i like is all the details in the toys. The future of playmobil is very exciting. Greger from Sweden.
Ehm... I understand it's not something a "purist" or something would do, but... what about using Patafix or some kind of non-damaging adhesive like that?
I use playmobil small pieces and furnitures for my 1/18 diorama and usually I repaint them, give them a black wash and then glue them in place. You could do that, skip a detailed review on products and just create scenes on tables in your basement.
Hi from Spain Jang... congrats 4 ur playmobil reviews... I’m playmobil collector since more than 20 years ago and apréciate ur point of view and mainly the quality of the videos. I’d like to know how is ur endless white set for filming ur reviews ... if you don’t mind pls could you show it? Best regards from Spain
That’s what I dislike about Playmobil too, to an extent. It’s a pain to move stuff around and then set it all back up. Half the playtime is setting up. Same with barbies and things like that, that’s why it’s always better to sort of have a defined space for that stuff. I’d suggest setting up and reviewing when you debox and maybe you won’t think about it so much lol. We will pretty much just love seeing you talk about these things, so figure it out and do your thing and we’ll flock to it. ☺️
Have you considered using Elmer's glue to keep all the little things in place? There's a clear kind that is washable. It might not affect the plastic toys, but you would want to test it first to make sure it doesn't damage any of the plastic or paint. I like this channel and your other channels. I hope to see more videos here soon.
Just show what comes in the set but on their own. It doesn’t matter if they are in the ‘right’ place or not. That’s up to us to decide. If we get the set. Just have them in like a ‘these are the extra accessories’ part of the video.
I think you should do the videos whichever way you feel most satisfied with. You could focus on showing the larger main items or items you want to talk about the most. You could start by reviewing sets that don't include a lot of small parts to get some videos out quicker.
I think you should do what makes it the most fun for you first. If you spend a lot of time to arrange all the parts to make it look good, you might as well show the back of the box. I don't think it makes to much of a difference for us. We can still see everything included with the set. =)
I think showing the back of the box is fine as long as you show the accessories close up as well. Would it be possible to wait to set up the accessories until you already have the set in studio for filming so you’re not having to do it once when you first build it and yet again before filming review?
Hi Jang - I watch your videos because I enjoy sharing your experience when you've got your hands on "the stuff" ! Using photos as "visual aids" would be fine. For me, making a pretty picture isn't as important as sharing "on camera" time. - Regards, Allan (also a Lego fan)
While I do appreciate you arranging all the small pieces and I think it makes it look neat, I absolutely wouldn't mind you just showing them separately. In the end you have always shown, no matter what you do, that your videos are so so enjoyable. So I guess what I'm saying is: do it in a way that makes you feel best. Because we can feel/hear that in the video of you are happy with it or not
I totally get the Problem. I am also often anoyed by the fact that I set up a great playmobil scenery on our living room table and then my daughter bumps against the rable by accident and I have to set up everything again. But I think placing every Wiskey bottle in my western town is the important. But I also think that to see more of you videos it would be alright for me if you only place the important accessories in the playsets to give the viewer a general idea and just show the rest beside it all.
Do what you do best. I gave up in the LEGO world because I can’t compete against leaked image videos. Seems nobody cares about in hand reviews but that’s your trademark and you’ve always done that. Better to show real product than product images
hey Jang. Brother what ever you do will be great, grouping stuff is ok and you don't have to be putting stuff up all the time, things look good displayed right but I would be happy just to see them, pass that block dude. you rock.
Those little items are a pain, but they add a lot to these sets too. Especially buildings like schools and hospitals come with so many little items, but if you don't pose those on the shelves and stuff... It's just gonna look barren and unappealing. I don't think you have to show or talk about every single thing in the box individually, like you said, the back of the box shows the exact contents, no need to point everything out, but if you stop including the accessories and/or stop dressing up the scene for the video, I don't think you can do some of these sets justice like that. It's part of the play value after all.
I want to know about the play quality of the sets, their main features good and bad. I am not so interested in perfect placement as I can see those in promo pics. Your reviews are the best on youtube and I was really sad to see you stopped uploading. Must check out your other chanel, though lego doesn't interest me like playmobil. Appreciate anything you put up here when you have time!
I just found this channel, but tbh I don't pay THAT much attention to how you set up the sets, it's nice if they're nicely posed, but I'm always more interested in seeing the content and features than anything, I don't pay much attention neither here nor in any of the other brands you cover.
Being selective about camera shots could help you, focus on the main piece you’re showing and allow other sets to be the background. The room where I shoot is used for everything and isn’t always in a presentable state, getting selective with how I show things has helped me. Hopefully that helps, the Play Mobil trains are really impressive, it would be good to see more of them. Are you hoping to get some tables eventually? Not bending down all the time to set this up could help too.
Hire an intern (or a young relative), to help you with the set up and video editing. If we go off the idea of something is better than nothing then at least that gets you to put out something.
I think you need to consider the type of reviewer you are for Playmobil. In Lego you are super knowledgeable and can point out new pieces and colors easily because of your vast experience with them. In Playmobil you are a more casual reviewer with less depth of knowledge. So maybe format your reviews more in line with that experience. Hey here's the box back, here's some talk about my experience assembling the set. Here are the big parts or scene modules. Here's an in depth talk about how unrealistic this edged weapon is because Jang knows a lot about those things. Don't worry about getting overly geeky about the Playmobil itself, there are plenty of us in other places on the internet that do that. Geek about the parts you are into, more casually reflect on the experience. We come to this channel for You and the Playmobil, in that exact order. All you have to do is give us those two things in any combination and we will be very happy.
Maybe you could show the sets with all the items placed at the start as you usually do a 360 view, then for the rest of the video you could just have them off to the side? You usually show the box at the end too so it doesn't really bother me how you choose to do it.
I wouldn't get too annoyed with the small parts. You don't have to position everything like it is on the box, but the small parts are what make Playmobile what they are. In other words, don't be such a perfectionist on the positioning. Review the parts when you open the box for the videos, but then do the final set-up once you get them where you want them in the basement.
I don’t need to see the small accessories posed. It’s not really how my kids play with them anyway. They are constantly moving them around (and losing them!)
Just one set review per week would be enough, not beeing as meticulous for the video quality as for the Lego channel, just doing what's needed to give your thought.
I think skip all the tiny bits. I kinda just throw them back in the box. because they get lost. n it's annoying when they fall over the place. so I agree. do u.
When you glue all those Items you never have to arrange them a 2nd time. But you cant change the layout then... just a littlebit to say. Im also perfectly fine with doing a review with those items by the side
Please let me know in your own words what your thoughts are!
How important is it in review videos that all of the small loose items be properly placed & lined up?
Is it okay if I group them together more, leave some off to the side, and/or use the neatly-presented official Playmobil illustrations to talk about them?
Whatever you see to be the easiest and the best option. Just dont stress about making content too much, life comes first, hobbies like this second.
I agree with the simple gamer
I think you could easily group them together and only talk about new or interesting small items. And maybe use the pictures with white background instead of the back-of-the-box pictures.
Why dont you stick the peices to the set? I don't mean permanently i mean use blu tac or something
Jang I am a subscriber and I support you fully. I think that not showing every detail is a good idea because it saves time and makes reviews easier. Can I make a request though? Can you please please please review the rc steam train soon?
Do what you can Jang I watch both channels.
In my opinion as long as you just show the items it doesn’t matter if it’s posed
I'm waiting for more reviews!
Don't worry about being perfect!
Dont worry about setting up the pieces
What camera specifically do you use Jang?
i think it would be okay for me if you show the sets in that room posed up in your town.
Done ist better than perfct.
Using the packaging more is a Good idea.
Because we can feel/hear that in the video of you are happy with it or not
You can put a bit of Clay behind the piece do it stsys om its place and it isn't permanent i work with it myself
I’m ok with the specifics and don’t mind if you don’t set all of it up. Would love more videos here if you happen to find the time.
Missed you!!
It's part of the play value after all.
do a 10 part series on setting up your tablescape organizing ur current sets to cool town
I agree about that its so annoying to place small pieces with out it being still
I have a lot of playmobile and the tiny bits do get every where. I find it really frustrating to set it up, when you do it, it looks good though.
ABout small pieces - ust shoot back of the box- it has all pieces visible :)
I use small amounts of bluetac to hold it down.
I just found this channel, but tbh I don't pay THAT much attention to how you set up the sets, it's nice if they're nicely posed, but I'm always more interested in seeing the content and features than anything, I don't pay much attention neither here nor in any of the other brands you cover.
I think you Need to get more space for your Playmobil city and do more detail on it!
Hot glue or something like that could work to hold things down and not ruin it?
I really would like to see you review a whole Dreamowrks DRAGONS line :)
I think your thoght on this are very important and do what ever makes you happy :D
Hire an intern (or a young relative), to help you with the set up and video editing. If we go off the idea of something is better than nothing then at least that gets you to put out something.
Can you do the new playmobil SWAT stuff and new FIRE sets
Maybe you should Mac mocs like using colored poster board as ground and put vehicles over it such as boats or trains/helicopters.
Why don't you fix the small items in place with blue tack, not glue. The kraggle is the enemy
I'm with you mate!
YOUR. VIDEOS. ARE. GREAT-!!!!! (☆☆☆☆☆) BEEN. COLLECTING. SINCE. 1990'S-!!!!! HAVE. LARGE. CIVAL-WAR. LAY-OUT-!!!! ENJOY. YOUR. VIDEO'S. VERY. MUCH-!!!!! DJB@PA....U.S.A....!!!!!!
Do more pirates stuff!
Just one set review per week would be enough, not beeing as meticulous for the video quality as for the Lego channel, just doing what's needed to give your thought.
the best are:
The train & the police station...
Zeldona x Gluing option is never is a good option...blue tact maybe is better
I really don't care if the accessories are lined up or if you leave some off to the side.
New space station will be released.
Plz review the coast busters fire house.
Lindo!! Parabéns!!
Just show the back of the box and only show important accessories.; )
Your better of with lego but good job on this city
