I put in the Fast Cap reel. I couldn't make it for the same money they sold it for. It's a nice convenient addition to the shop. The pool hose was the best part. Found it next to a dumpster. I love that hose I did mount mine up higher so the handle was at the right height. I use the vacuum every time I am out in the shop. Great job on the build. I would have done it as well. It was nice just assembling it... the tools looked pretty sitting by...GRIN!
Hi Mark, I have been on build of this project and could not locate the adapter you showed at 1.14. I have the problem of one stationary feed pipe and the reel’s 360 degree pipe that is part of the assembly. I’m searching for this part but could not find one. Can you please help naming this connector?
That is awesome! I have the same bunnings pool hose for my shop vac, and it currently resides under my saw in a big mess of hose and extension leads. I'll add this hose reel to the list of things that I need to make when life gives me a holiday for a day or two.
Great to see a new Aussie Woodworking channel. Well done. Loved this video. Could you tell me if the "Swivel hose fitting" has a specific name or if possible where did you get it. Thanks
Grouse mate, for a moment there I thought you might use pocket hole joinery but this reel fits your space well, as longs as it works for you, cheers mate 👍👍👍🍺🇦🇺
Finally someone that speaks Aussie. Thanks mate. Great setup. The hose routing has minimal corners. I'm building a "Side by side" version and don't know if I should go with PVC pipe or vacuum hose. (I'd prefer to buy vac hose and cut to size. Do they make hose end kits ???) Most vids are from USA (Home Depot etc...) Where can I buy hose length and end connectors ??? Bunnings are useless and I don't want to spend a fortune at Godfreys... Cheers. Happy Beers.
I gave you thumb is up, and I am looking to see more of your videos. It is nice work , but it is bad Idea. Speaking of the hydraulic losses, that coiled hose is a nightmare, and your system is not big enough to handle that. Maybe that system is being used in factories, but it was implemented in the wrong place. A small shop-vac would be more practical ,convenient and cost effective.

How do you like using a pool hose as a shop vac hose? Any noise or dirt accumulation issues?
No noise or dirt build up but the pool hose is not very flexible
Where did you buy the swivel for the hose?
