If anything it might bring more people into the market to buy MIB Mask Toys. If they found a warehouse of unopened USS Flaggs I would be interested in picking one up
Everyone loves M.A.S.K., except Hasbro the copyright holders who keep the legal documents in a broken filing cabinet in a basement with no stairs with a sign on the door that says ‘beware of the leopard’.
Hasbro shelved MASK for the same reason why Disney shelved Tron: they don't need it. Look at what they got generating money for them: SW, GI Joe, Transformers, Marvel, and now stuff like Power Rangers. Maybe if the current market gets sick of the 100th version of Darth Vader and Optimus Prime, then they'll dig into said file cabinets to see what other properties they can try making money off of.
They didn't find the whole line in Chile. It's only like five or so from the second series. All the original release MASK toys still go for big bucks. It will be interesting to see what happens when Ramen Toys releases their MASK vehicles.
Given the amount of price inflation going on in toy collecting right now I'm surprised prices even stayed stable. But this does appear to just be a bunch of people who bought from that lot trying to recoup their investment
@That Junkman OMG! I actually knew the man who created and designed Kenner's ''MASK'' toy line. He was the manager of a public storage building that I was using at the time. (Sad thing). He received no royalties for anything. Not for any of the toy sales... Not for animated series. ''NO NOTHING''! All he ever got was a salary from Kenner. And that was a successful toy line.
M.A.S.K is a line that you dont see very many of at toy shows, and there is a pretty good amount of people our age that loved the cartoon..think this is a line that will hold its value well for a while...
@@RarebitFiends Gotta thank my parents for stashing them & my Star Wars stuff away. Was surprised when I discovered them again a few years back. Boulder hill may be the best playset ever.
I don't think even a re-release of the originals would be enough to tank the market. New fans of M.A.S.K. would likely gravitate toward the less expensive re-release, but there is a point of pride in having the original.
He-Man prices have dropped a little since the Origins line was released, same for Real Ghostbusters after the Hasbro re-issues and TMNT after Playmates re-issues
Great perspective, thank you for putting this together! The only items that would have dropped were the ones found, the philosophy for the other makes 0 sense.
How was an entire warehouse of MASK toys found, who found it, and who owned the warehouse? Was it a storage facility Kenner owned but later forgot about? Has everything in the warehouse been itemized and/or put up for sale yet?
I had collections of M.A.S.K, StarCom toys. All were destroyed when I got home one day by my sociopath brother. My parents refused to admit he did it. They protected him.
It’s not gonna crash ever as long as the ppl wanting it are still alive. Classic cars pre 1940 are dropping in value because the ppl wanting them are dying off. The demand goes down.
@@ThatJunkman it would have been nice if they had crashed..that way I could have replaced my Matt Tracker Thunderhawk for a good reasonable price, and get those couple that my c ousin had,Ebay and Amazon are like a yard sale sorta
The reason why it didn't hardly hurt the market is because MASK never carried the kind of values Star Wars, GI Joe, and Transformers did. MASK was a great toy and cartoon line, but in comparison to the above-mentioned as well as He-Man it's a second-tier toy and cartoon series.
Well that seems like it would have hurt it more. If it wasn’t that popular and then you find 100s of it then you got even more than can’t sell so the prices would drop :(
@@ThatJunkman MANTA definitely seems like it's going for less. I remember I paid $80 for my loose one around 15 ago, and MISB ones were north of $300. On the villian side Vanessa with MANTA is one of the key pieces. And look at those $50 -$70 prices for the Dynamo. Can you buy a comparable-sized vintage SW or GI Joe vehicle, or Transformer that's MISB for that price? Even IF a warehouse was found full of them? Not a chance in hell.
I don't see this as a problem. I see it, Hey that means that it's easier for fans of MASK who want to get some figures can now more easily get them. I mean, In my case: If a big ass box of Little Samson for the NES was found and it caused a crash for the prices, I'd be celebrating nude in the street.

😂FACTS!!!
Prices have gone up in the U.K. as I’ve just had a few to collect over the last couple of years to complete the set! Wonderful toy line tbf 👌🏻

I wish I'd kept my M.A.S.K toys. I had nearly all of them, only missing a few of the ones toward the end.
Mask and the Mask toys are worth my hunt but they don't got them here where I'm from. Thx for keeping me posted JUNKMAN. 📫

Still one of my favorites- still have them all!
Awesome, I am a little jealous. I only have my childhood memories of them.
@@RarebitFiends Gotta thank my parents for stashing them & my Star Wars stuff away. Was surprised when I discovered them again a few years back. Boulder hill may be the best playset ever.
Most memorable thing about M.A.S.K. is that cartoon intro song! It's too epic for the brand. I always wanted Miles Mayhem's vehicle, tho.

I love those toys
I had everything available from the M.A.S.K. toy lineup as a kid. These were some great toys and it would be awesome
The retro collection didn't tank the vintage 1978-1985 Star Wars toys.
I remember Mask. My friend on my block had Boulder hill and spend hours playing!
i found most of them loose with box in pretty shape not very expensive. But when you enter in mib sealed MASK toys game, it s not for everybody !
I only had two MASK toys. Always thought they were kool. I wouldn't mind seeing a re-release of these or new versions altogether.
There's a video on yt of a fan made trailer for a MASK movie. I thought it was pretty well done
I had the flying Camaro..my cousin had the switch blade and the Mayhem leader copter..I immediately lost the bombs that dropped out of the bottom

What does the Cher figure go for?

Wow. That's some serious bucks for MIB toys.
What's cool are the restoration videos breathing mew life into old toys

See my first video
Every other market I collect has shot through the roof over the past 2 years. To stay about the same is proof enough for me

I LOVE MASK!!!!
wanna buy too, but really over priced, very expensive 😢

hate when people look at old toys as money makers
You can list any price, but if no one buys...
That’s why I only looked at the sold price and not the list price

Thats expensive! I hope that's not the new LOW prices.
I wish I had those MASK toys but they were just too cool for me.
As long as there's toy hoarding scabs in the world, M.A.S.K toys will always be ridiculously priced.
I don't see this as a problem.

I didn't know about the old new stock find.
Then you don’t watch the Junkman. (Or didn’t 2 years ago)
