You can't fix it because big players are involved, and if you change one thing, many other aspects are affected, creating chaos. The best solution is to not allow PR for students and temporary workers. Let them study/work and go. PR route should be investment based.

A friend of mine from Hong Kong moved to PEI under this program. He actually started a small software firm doing FINTECH (financing stock trading software). He had many existing customers in Asia so his business was pretty much secure right from the beginning.
His major issues was finding the software engineers. He hired fresh grad from UPEI and he trained them for a year or so. Then they just left for the big company in the bigger cities like Toronto, Montreal…etc. The turnover rate was insanely high.
After a few years, he just gave up PEI and moved his company to Toronto.
PEI relied on agriculture and fishing heavily and that is fundamental issue. Despite of all the scandals and loopholes, Lack of the local talents and the local people’s will to stay are hurting the entrepreneurs who really want to start business in PEI.

As an immigrant who moved to Canada 24 years ago, I feel deeply saddened by the current state of our immigration system. It’s painful to see how it’s being abused through fraudulent documents and misuse of welfare and support systems. The corruption and shortsightedness of the government, especially under Justin Trudeau, are frustrating. I feel bad for our Canadian-born kids who are affected by these inefficiencies and looking for jobs while international students have captured their jobs. Reduce the numbers they need to freeze immigration completely when it comes to permanent residency and temporary foreign workers. Allow international students and family reunions and refugee programs, but these programs need to be put on ice and rebuilt from the ground up. Even in this video you demonstrate for how long and how abused they actually are and especially these days where foreign intelligence agencies want to harm Canadian denizens whether they're foreign-born or native born. The prospective immigrants seeking to get here today will appreciate it in the long run when they finally are able to settle here

The Law Society of PEI should do an investigation on all of the law firms that were involved in the Provincial Nominee Program…I guarantee if you want to know one of the biggest players besides the government in the problem it’s lawyers and they work hand in hand with Realtors, so you can get the PEI Real Estate Association on board to investigate to. I was born in PEI. No mistake, it's a wonderful province filled with amazing, friendly, hard working people, and is actually a really nice place to live (my sister is a nurse and her husband is a grocer and have made a really nice living). But if you peel back that first layer, there's political corruption the likes of which Toronto or Montreal have never seen. Atlantic Canada didn't invent political corruption, but we sure as hell perfected it. After all, we are where Canada was dreamed up and created. I remember the headlines "PEI leads country in GDP growth", "PEI population booms", yeah ok. Robert Ghiz, the former Liberal premier orchestrated this. His dad was Premier in the 1980's, and he was practically given a Coronation when he became Liberal leader. Thankfully now there's a Tory government there and they've slammed on the brakes on this nonsense and taken a hard line on the protestors.

So many places in Ontario who used to hire Canadians such as fast food restaurants “only” hire foreign workers who they can exploit. Very specifically a Wendy’s. This used to be a job for teenagers. These programs absolutely reduce the amount of jobs accessible to Canadians from employers who pretend they otherwise would have no staff.
A relative of mine knows one of these managers and he admitted that it saved him a lot of money and reduced turnover with them forced to stay. Indentured servitude in some cases.
Canadians have empathy for “some” of these people, but as a population are suffering as a result.
There is no such thing as a job that no one wants.

Back in the 80s I remember the bank I worked for started to rate a big part of performance on how mamy credit card and loan 'slaves' ee could ensnare. Couldn't stand it and left the finance side of banking industry and went into tech. A few years later, they began letting go of anyone with tenure (thru pressuing, and writing performance criteria etc to terminate). Instead of experienced employees the bank(s) handed over tech to overseas contractors. I got pushed out but thankfully went to the labor board so I didn't leave empty handed.
However, I remain hopeful because all this greed and evil is coming to light.

Overall a good video but lets not sit here and tell lies at the end of the video. Some of the people with expiring permits are definitely getting the raw end of the deal but they were not promised anything. That statement is factually incorrect and needs to be made clear.
Rules and regulations change, there was never a promise made by Canada or the government that if you come work at tim hortons or any other fast food place that you will automatically get PR. Even those in higher skilled jobs need to qualify and the draws do not guarantee people PR. Just because someone reads somewhere that they have a theoretical higher chance at PR moving to a province does not mean they are owed anything.
They made a decision to move. Informed or not thats their own problem. If I make a bad choice in another country their government should not bail me out it should be no different here.
