This would be the ONLY situation where I wouldn't mind people touching my hair. But yt people in the US who have seen these before, touching my hair is a big NO NO.
I thought it would be done in a more complicated way than shampooing. This is because most Koreans have oily and thick straight hair compared to other races, making it difficult to stay in a braided state for more than a day. I think it will get loose or itch a lot soon. That's why it's common in Korea to change and wash your style every day. I think I asked Jenny directly out of simple curiosity because no one can keep her braided long. I hope she doesn't think it's racist or a bad reason.
In the West people with straight hair usually wash their hair every 3 days or once a week. The more curly a person’s hair is the more often they have to wash it. If people have extremely curly hair they wash once a month because their hair takes a long time to become oily. I have curly hair and wash my hair every 2 weeks.

I think the braids are my favourite hairstyle I’ve seen you wear. They suit you perfectly!
I will miss this hair style, it looks so good on you Jenny!
I really like Jenny’s blonde hair her face looks so bright 💗💗
Jenny, you’re so beautiful. I know you say you don’t mind when close friends touch your hair because you know they don’t mean harm. But I feel the way that one guy was asking questions was a bit rude especially because he wasn’t really that complimentary to the hairstyle. And he was saying things as statements rather than politely asking.
If you’re really okay with it then it’s okay but also remember that if they’re you’re true friends they’ll understand that it’s okay for you to not be comfortable too.
Love the braids and they’re my fave hairstyle on you x
Not to be offensive I found out that people with braids can wash their hair too for the first time after watching this vid cause I live in Asian country n never met a black people irl before
@@subakithar8359that’s okay but there’s a way to ask and also I guess you have to ask yourself if it’s not something you could simply google. If everyone was constantly asking a black person all the things they don’t know about your race it can become uncomfortable. And can also make it seem like all people see is your race.
Agreed! Curiosity is fine, disrespect is not!
i definitely agree. but we also have to remember we are seeing their words in a very standard english translation. so there is a chance that he was being polite and it was just not translated well. i guess a second opinion would be needed. i agree with you tho!
Agreed. The smelling to see if her hair was really clean felt weird as hell
so happy to see her friends and teachers embracing her, curious, asking questions and supporting her. everybody learn a lot here! tolerance first, then embracing, understanding and love :)
This would be the ONLY situation where I wouldn't mind people touching my hair. But yt people in the US who have seen these before, touching my hair is a big NO NO.
Jenny’s mermaid hair. Very pretty 💕
Fr❤
It is giving Miss Halle Bailey💕
Your teacher didn’t lie you actually look like an doll😂❤
"5 hours? You could've gone to Busan" 😂😂
Oh you must be one of her friends

the teachers' reactions are so cute
The boy in the white shirt is soooo cute!
I find it so interesting how all of thwir first thought is how do you wash it😂😂as a black girl that has never crossed my mind. Very cool to see the questions people who arent used to braids have
Y’all leave her alone she is Korean and in Korean culture, it is not illegal for them to be doing what they are doing. Y’all may not understand the customs and even the relation ship between them, they seem like very close friends. What you’re seeing is not ignorance, I would take a guess that most of you talking are westerners/ Americans. Poc’s get curious of other cultures and it’s normal at the end of the day 😭 even yt people but most of the time it is ignorance, depends on the person
girl so when white people ask it's ignorance but when koreans ask, it's not ignorance? ight. that makes no sense. yall koreaboos must really love korea huh.

Ahh the way they touch your hair and smell it and then ask if you wash it …. Personally I could not deal with that but 🤷🏾♀️
They weren't asking if she DID wash it, they were asking if she COULD wash it with braids in. And the thing about them touching her hair, she explains at 7:52
@@echodvc4543 how they were acting is still so weird
@dty123 it's literally super natural in their culture, just because you're not used to the type of culture that touch each other more doesn't mean it's weird. I know for Americans and Europeans, we're not very touchy people at all, but they are over there. Touching and smelling hair is super normal for them, when they're close.
@@dty123 it’s just a different style they haven’t seen and she’s their close friend. That’s why there’s a lot of skinship and smelling. As well as they probably don’t actually know much about how to take care of it so they’re curious. I’m pretty sure she’s fine
touching and smelling ur friend’s hair, even commenting it smells terrible - if it’s the case - is perfectly normal in Korea.
I get that it might be weird to people outside of Korea but there really is no intent in what they are doing. It’s just normal to them.
I love how they are supportive and just wants to know if she washed it 😭🤣💗💗
Cutie
She is so pretty
“You look like a foreigner”🤨
Most of the people with braids that Koreans see are in fact foreigners...
Noo why does she have to get rid of the braids :( are you gonna get another cool hairstyle ? But i love black hair jenny!! I appreciate she explained it to global followers it’s a sensitive topic just don’t let ppl treat you like a zoo animal. I‘m glad she explained it’s different cultures and when her close friends do it it’s ok but not people you don’t know. As a mixed german girl i used to think like this too now that i‘m older i don’t like it when ppl touch my hair even friends maybe she will change her mind one day tho.
It's not great for her to have braids in for too long (for her scalp and whatnot), she did it for her vacay n that's over now so ig she's taking them out
its been a good month so i think shes got her moneys worth! she can always get them again
they arent trating her like a zoo ainmal they are asking questions to educate themselevs because they are curious, koreans always touch each other a lot and she doesnt mind she always touches her friends hair too. she is korean you know
@@aerabyeol please read my text again i was not saying they are treating her like that! I was saying she needs to be CAREFUL not to get treated like that by people. As i am someone of mixed race who grew up in Germany ik what it’s like to stand out especially with your hair and sometimes it can feel frustrating having to explain your whole existence and being touched. If you are not mixed you probably won’t understand you put on a good face because you don’t want to be rude or dramatic i know Jenny’s friends are not withbad intentions and i understand Korean culture is like that!.
@@zsrjs1763 yes i hope she tries all sort of different hairstyles in the future
So pretty!! Jenny is better than me, I would be annoyed at everybody smelling my hair😅
Her hair was probably really fragrant so they were trying to smell it closer, it's actually quite normal for close friends in Korea to do
She washed it yesterday and it still looks neat??
Sis how did you do that?
Wash mostly the scalp and cream and dry after.
@savagestation5653 still...it looks very neat.

You hair always look so beautiful but this is really cool ❤
YAY SCHOOL VLOG 💕💕💕
Those days are precious
To be fair, it used to be like that for me too in high school. People would touch my hair and ask 1000 and 1 questions, but they were all my friends and so I get where she's coming from. If these people are close to her, then I don’t think there's an issue as she said.
Ok but like were you comfortable with ppl doing that to you? It was ok because it was your friends that doesn’t mean you still can’t be allowed to be uncomfortable and voice that by the way this goes for all black girls out here !
@@Bluelagoons21People have touched my braids a couple of times my Mum has told them off like it’s rude to touch peoples hair in my opinion especially Black Womens hair or Men 🤦🏾♀️ makes me feel really uncomfortable
@@_invinciScribe_24 I agree. White people touch my hair all the time still just like this and it makes me feel weird it’s worse when it happens in situations when you feel like you don’t wanna be rude
@@Bluelagoons21 Fr
for me im just okay .bcoz people get curious . for extrovert its okay .its more weird if u have normal hair but people still touching it

Lol, everyones comments was too funny.. from " you look like foreigner, does it hurt, how do you take it out" all the way to "can you wash it" 😂😂😂
Anyways this hair style suites Jenny the most.❤
Thank you for explaining why your classmates touch your hair and why you're cool about it.
ahh i LOVE YOUR VIDEOSSSS
She looks super cute. I love how close she is with her friends and teachers. I have long sisterlocs, and people ask to touch my hair all the time. It doesn't bother me at all. I don't wear extensions, but people always ask me if it's all my real hair because its so thick and long. I always say "yep unfortunately all of this hair is mine and its a lot of work"😂 I don't take offense, I'm glad that they ask questions.
Chommie tsa hao di ka nyela ho nna moo😅 the braids do look good on you Jenny❤.
@Jennypark, You need moisturizing Hair Mousse” to lay all the fly away hairs down, and make your hair blend in better.
love these videos, they'll help me study korean :) please keep the korean subs, they're so helpful!
Please do a complete workout series

Why are people saying it’s rude for people to express curiosity this is gonna be the norm becuase they have never seen it before it’s not rude to express curiosity and as you can see she had no problem because it’s expression of curiosity
It’s rude
It’s not rude at all.
@@LucidKay9114 how are people supposed to know what to do in these situations if they can’t ask these questions that’s like telling a child they won’t like something without them trying it first
@@LucidKay9114depends on the person. It might not be okay with you but it’s perfectly fine for her
it's fine since she's okay with it but you do NOT walk up to someone and pet someone's hair like they are an exotic creature and not a human with personal space and may not be okay with you touching and sniffing them..
Jenny you look like a mermaid. Please do braids more often 😍😍
How are they all so beautiful!?😍❤❤
Jenny I LOVE your hair!! The Color and the style. You always fascinate me!! Do you have advice for senior year? I’m becoming a senior this year and I want to enjoy it as much as possible like you do!❤❤ I love you so much and I know you’ll be the prettiest model in Korea!

Jenny you must apply to college PLEASE. College volg yay!❤
Even though you can, I don't recommend washing your hair while you have in the braids because it causes the braids to fuzz faster which can make it look untidy 😭
I’m happy to be here early ❤
the way they kept touching without asking wouldve upeset me ngl
