    Love your stroke and grip. Been experimenting a lot with different grips in the last 5 months and I mean a LOT of different grips. But I've settled on a stroke much like yours. Only difference is (and my stroke is pretty good but yours is much better) I don't let my index finger into the game. And now watching your stroke, unless I'm not seeing it right, you use the index finger and middle finger with a super relaxed "grip". And you are a great player so I am going to try it at least and see what happens. Pretty much I have been able to do well with all the grips I've used which is sort of maddening. I was hoping one would stick out and show itself as much superior to the others. Letting my fingers get into the game sort of dramatically is one area of confusion for me as well. I do quite well with that most of the time. But my intuition is to only let the fingers move naturally in a diminished way with the motion of the cue.
    I should mention not a newbie here. 25 years of constant experience then 20 years off and now playing again. I consider myself an advanced player but right now barely advanced, been too long. But since I'm from the U.S. no snooker here.

    • @BladeRunner-td8be

      I think the hips play a much larger role in pocketing balls than I ever realized. Not talking about swaying the body back and forth here. It's the hips which control the accuracy of the shot. Spending a good deal of time trying to get my hips lined up perfectly. It's such a subtle thing to accomplish. Lining the hips up to the shot is extremely difficult. And this fact for me at least is probably why I can use so many grips with the same accuracy when I'm in stroke. The grip is important, very important but it's not the grip which gives me my accuracy. It's my correctly lined up hips.

    been a mad snooker fan for decades. cant play on a real table because i need stupid glasses or contacts which i hate wearing. being a gamer i was super happy when snooker 19 came out and ive been living out my greatest fantasy's of actually being able to score more than my IRL top score of 9! my highest break so far is 107. having found your channel im really hoping i can transfer you good advice onto the virtual table and finally make a clearance. ive only managed to clear the colours once in 113 frames so far.even tho i know how to do it. i never use side because im not fully aware of the benefits. im hoping this video gives me a better understanding and that i can up my game to the next level.

      The by far best Snooker and Pool simulation out there is Virtual Pool 4. The VP series started in 1995 and has come so close to the real game, it is unmatched. There are two versions, one offline, which I recommend, and one online-f2p. You should give it a try and you will be blown away. For PC that is...

  • @colincolenso

    I think your side is basically creating squirt which tends to make the OB enter the edge of the pocket. I used to believe in this method, but some instructionals by Bob Jewett convinced me otherwise. Spin throws the OB as well as the CB, almost perfectly cancelling out the net positional result. On some soft shots, we can benefit from this, but the occasions are rare. Better to just pinch the pocket a bit usually.

    Hi, nice to watch your videos to get skills of snooker. I have a stupid question which really stupid. I am a Chinese which in poor English but I try the best to ask in a clear way. when I make an aim and put my bridge hand (left) on the table. If I want to make a say left spin shot. Should I move a bit my bridge hand toward right to let me shot on the left side of the cueball? On the other hand, if I want to make a screw shot, should I only to low down my bridge a bit or .....raise the heigh of Q end? Thanks for your patient help first.

    • @Breakfromlife
      @Breakfromlife  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s pretty much it but it can be a challenging shot to play well at times. Sometimes it works, sometimes it makes you miss and sometimes it doesn’t seem to do anything

  • @krvyinit
    @krvyinit 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    to widen an angle you use stun run and if you want to do it with screw just hit the ball slightly higher up than usual an it will arch the cue ball slightly backwards...im pretty sure you dont even need the side just correct cue tip placement and striking.

    • @Breakfromlife
