I've always thought that life with no parole EVER is a stronger sentence than death; it usually makes the person think about what they did, and just might help them to grow a conscience. If they go on death row and stay there to The End, they don't learn anything or get a chance to reform.
Maybe it's just me, but I think Death Row is a way of maintaining the jails from over crowding. If they kept them for life without parole, there would be way too many people sitting in prison.
