@Zspeed No.prob..hey ingit a question..dunno if you.can help..we did valve covers.and gaskets, plugs and coils..everything was fine last night and this am when he went to.work..then on way home from work these codes p0300.multiple misfires.and p0011 camshaft sensor A,timing over advanced..now that drivers side sensor pigtail broke.and we spliced one on...any suggestions? I really don't wanna take to shop and pay exhorbant amount of money, but I'm stumped..fml..and question, are you self taught or donyou work or own a shop? Sorry for all the questions
Replace camshaft position sensor A first, use genuine Nissan parts from Z1 motorsports. If that doesn't work, check each coil pack for possible failure! Hope this helps!
So I just replace my valve covers, spark plugs, all the gaskets for the intake manifold and I went to start my car and it turns over and runs but every 1-2seconds my exhaust is popping? Is this because of improper ignition coil connections? I’m stuck
Sounds like one of your coil packs may have gone bad after being placed back on the spark plugs, that happened to me too. Disconnect the coil packs one at a time. If you get to the bad one, nothing will change, but if it's good, it'll run even rougher when disconnected.
Yeah I'm going to have to do this sooner or later. I keep eyeing the red cover you see on Amazon but just don't know about their quality. On the other hand, the OEM ones are very expensive.
I just did it it wasn't that bad. I got the white aluminum ones from Amazon and I mean the quality could be better but I definitely wanted aluminum and they look good on there cuz you can't see the minor defects
I was literally planning on buying valve covers this month, perfect timing before buying them. But I wanted to ask did u buy new oem headlights? Because I was planning on doing the same since mine are pretty bad
and if i dont add gasket maker at the corners is it going to automatically leak as soon as i drive car,...?...not sure why the oem gasket itself wouldnt be sufficient and not leak.
Give yourself at least two days, so you can take your time! Putting everything back together was easier than the disassembly process!! You can do it 💪!
I watched his video and had never done before and did it in a weekend safely..id also buy the new connectors forbthe cam sensors bc one of ours broke..follow this video and have all the tools and you should be good to go@@reddeder-xr7eu
DMn I was looking for the other video and couldn't find it..good timing..
Hey me.and the son and your video and the Haynes manual really helped us get it done..salute for making a proper video
Thanks so much for watching!👍🏁

@@Zspeed tha ks man..I'm also leaning towards a vacuum leak
Thankx a lot sir. Very detailed and meticulous. Its the best.
Thank you for making this video, really helps a lot.
I subscribed because of the gj you did on this wow thanks
Thank you for watching 👀, hope this video helped you out!🏁👍
Very detailed an excellently explained video I was thinking about getting the aluminum valve covers has all seals are removable and replaceable
I would recommend aluminum valve covers, my next set will be aluminum!!
The equalizing hose is magically flying from "on" to "off" and back by itself...
Camshaft plugs… can they be pushed out from the inside out once you take out the camp covers.
I'm not sure. Watch a VQ35DE teardown video for more details!!
shouldnt the new oem gasket seal 100% as is?...i did not add gasket maker at the corners....am i in trouble?

Apex, they make for Nissan and don't have a ridiculous price...

I put a slight coat of rtv all around the edge i didnt know it was omly
On the corners … im i in trouble ???? Or should i be fine ?
With a slight coat, you should be just fine! Give me an update if anything starts to leak, thanks so much for watching!
I was thinking about doing that myself just for the extra precaution. How’s it holding up?
when the vehicle was made at factory did they add gasket maker to the corners?
Yes!
I was literally planning on buying valve covers this month, perfect timing before buying them. But I wanted to ask did u buy new oem headlights? Because I was planning on doing the same since mine are pretty bad
Yes, OEM headlights for the 03-04 350z have come way down, under $200 each!
try rock auto for the oem headlights. that’s where i got mine
@@mandosZcool thanks
do u have to add gasket maker to the corners or is this just an added protection?...
and if i dont add gasket maker at the corners is it going to automatically leak as soon as i drive car,...?...not sure why the oem gasket itself wouldnt be sufficient and not leak.
Yes, you need to apply gasket maker in the corners, that's how the factory does it. Will it leak right away I'm not sure, let me know what happens!
for someone thats never done this how many hours are required total remove and install valve covers...it looks like its quite a bit of work and labor

Definitely a 4-5 hour job if you have someone who’s done it, or is pretty knowledgeable on cars, but if alone definitely two days minimum
