Wonderful. A non-Indian learnt Karnatic music and delivered a flawless soulful rendition. Hats off to you Mr.Chong. A foreigner could do it, delivered flawless music with correct pronunciation but our own people can't pronounce a famous name like Pattammal or other one_Sundaraman properly. What to say. Attitude thats what lacking in learning to say things or do things in proper manner.
Wow! What a rendition Mr. Chong, It's wonderful. It's nice to know your respect and attitude towards indian culture. I wish you along life with happiness and prosperity.
I am not indian ither, but i am learning hindustani classical music. That shows that music is universal. Interestingly the raagam witch he sings in at the start, is Mohanam or Bhoopali, witch also has some commonalities with Southeast asian music like chinese. My aim or gol in life is to be a Classicaly trained Playbacksinger, so all of you wish me luck, and all the best! Hello from an Iranian or Persian woman living in Sweden: Nicki Rafiei.
The flawless pronunciation alone should merit a standing ovation! I know Kannada, and for someone foreign to the tongue to master the subtle differences in the various phonemes is a stunning feat to say the least! HATS OFF!!!
Manikanta Kumar since when is "Bhagyada lakshmi baaramma" Telugu?? It's a Kannada song man...and I could comment only on that song as I know the language...
That's one song you're talking about. Most of the songs played in the video are in Telugu.to be more specific, 3 Telugu, 3 Sanskrit, 1 Hindi, 1 Tamil, 1 kannada.
beautiful demonstration of cultural diffusion, Indian classical music sung by malaysian chinese man no matter how many races or ethnicities the world may hold, we are all one human race :)
Malaysian dressed in Indian style reciting flawless karnatic music with alapanas unimaginable.Only dedication and tireless effort made it possible. Hat's off Mr Chong
Soulful rendition with perfect clarity. Hats off to him for his sincere and dedicated effort combined with sweet voice, excellent to say the least.A lesson even for Telugu people, who find it difficult to learn and ashamed to speak their language, a divided family of two states.
I'd be scared to even think of singing a classical song in Chinese! Amazingly done...impeccable pronunciation...amazing technique...perfection. Years of dedication and hard work undoubtedly.
Thank you very much 🙏🏻. My humble pranam to you. There is so much more I have to learn. Thamizh is my favourite language. God bless you and thank you once again. 🙏🏻❤️…
Once again it is proved that music has no language barriers. Congratulations to Chong Chiu Sen and all those involved in encouraging him and teaching him and to the people who brought this to us.
Sairam, You are the most blessed one than many swamy's students. It really very happy to hear you rendering the keertans in karnatic styles, may SWAMY bless You allways with sucess, Sairam.
Excellent Concert by Thiru.Chong and his companions. May Swamy bless you all. We are very very fortunate to listen this kind of Musical program sang by a Foreigner who is not at all connected with traditional music of Carnatic and it is very difficult to learn by people like us and thanks to his Gurus who put a lot of efforts on Him also.
Chiu Sen, you have emoted so beautifully... esp the Thandavam composition I felt you've rendered with total devotion from the bottom of your heart, absolutely beautiful. I am sure Lord Shiva will shower His blessings on you forever!
Cultures of Tamils? "Carnatic music or Karnāṭaka Saṃgīta is a system of music commonly associated with the southern part of the Indian subcontinent, with its area roughly confined to four modern states of India: Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu"
smt. pattammal has done the greatest achievement of spreading music to international standards...... i dont know why this government has not given her a bharat ratna..... she really deserves....
Mr chong you rock 🤘. Such an excellent saareeram you have. Please take the same to next generation and to many people you can. This is rare. Your vibrating song so deeply and that shows how much you love Bhagavan. Really amazing. May goddess Saraswati give all her blessings upon you.
My God,His pronunciation is flawless in Telugu,Sanskrit,Hindi and Kannada, that to foreigner to achieve it,unbelievable. I am not sure about Tamil. May he continue to keep going forever.
Chong last jenma u have done good honey abishega to shiva in turn this jenma he has given wonderful voice. Nice seeing you in action CCS! Nice! Been a while since we sang together. Pattammal Amma would be proud of you singing at Swami's place. God bless! Thaniavarthana at 39:30, lovely!
No denial his name is beautiful, but if his guru had given that name, that is honour to be called him with his new name, to be elevate him to spiritual platform, nothing more than that
It is an excellant concert I enjoy and we should be proud of a foreign coming out with a good carntic music. His pronunciation is far better than the local tamil people. I am really elated by his Mohanam ragam on Lord Shiva as he is directly taking us at the feet Lord Shiva.
+Kathir k The notes of mohanam are in the chinese pentatonic scale, yes. But a raga is far more than the swaras in its arohanam avarohanam, it also encompasses the particular way gamakam is used in the raga and the characteristic phrases used in manodharmam. That's why we don't say mohanam is a janya of sankarabaranam, even tho all the notes are present; it is a janya of harikamboji. This young man has really taken an effort to understand the ragas and bring out the phrasings in each, which is no easy feat for someone who probably didn't grow up hearing carnatic music every day. Maybe he's not at the level of manodharmam yet but that's the next step, and I think he'll do great!
From Mauritius here, just beautiful carnatic music really touch the soul. God bless you Chong Chiu Sen. I really appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. SAI BLESS :)
where there is a will there is a way..strong determination and hardwork can achieve anything...beautifully sung..!!! it ws nt easy for u i guess u have workd hard for the diction...grt job jai sai ram may swami bless with good health and happiness

Beauty of countries like Malaysia and Singapore is that Chinese are capable of adopting cultures of tamils and be better than the tamils at it.
Cultures of Tamils?
