I think doing it on adventure bikes this time around has only increased and brought extra enjoyment to you and the lads Rich. Plus it’s got to the point now I’m waiting on Pete charging off road now 🏍💨💨💨🤣👍🏻
It can be pretty daunting taking a big bike off road if you've never done that kind of thing before so massive well done to Martin for giving a go
The off road stuff comes naturally to you and Pete with having done it previously, full Respect must go to Martin for attempting and succeeding in what off roading he did and it can only help his handling of the bike. Look forward to his Adv on the Picos trip.
Thank you Norrie. I must admit even though I’m riding bikes for years I come across a total nervous wreck taking the big AT off road lol for the most part I was bricking it but I’m glad I seen it through each time. As you say it will pay off in the long run 😄👍

You’ve extolled the virtues of Richa gortex in the past. I see you wearing another one on this trip. I went online ( I live in Idaho where there is nothing available locally) and Richa’s selection was overwhelming. If you had to pick the most versatile what would it be? How do you like the Arai helmet? How is the noise level on the highway? Does the beak have vibration on the highway?
Love the lid. Notice no vibes from the peak, nor high noise levels. But, I do wear in ear monitors all the time. I love it 👍

The coating in question did absolutely nothing to protect the bike in the end, so, as a result I won’t recommend it. Save ya money and buy a decent wax sealer. It’ll protect it way more 👍

The ADV bikes always look better when covered in muck. But in saying that, when I had my AT , she was always cleaned after each ride. OCD at it's best.

Another great video. I think the segment where the guy was debating wether to go up the very tricky path raises a point about modern bikes. So much “what mode” “a should I turn traction control on or off” etc etc (and this is no way a criticism of the rider). Bikes are becoming so complicated! New riders spend 1/2 the ride trying to decide on what settings, what modes, etc the loose the simple joy of riding. Oh older bikes, even just 5-10 years old. It’s just a matter of, point and ride. Are we getting too addicted to the bike doing everything for us and losing the simple joy . Challenge of riding
Totally understand your point there, Scott. I always think this when riding my beautiful VFR. Not aids at all, just get on, start her up and ride! 👍
100% agree with your point. Things are way over complicated nowadays. It's the way manufacturers use to wangle more cash from our pockets whether we like it or not. I've gone from a 2014 Fireblade with 0 rider aids, to a 20 model Tuono with more electric wizadry that my head will never accept/trust in. I will never benefit from an add on cost that I would happily do without.
