Ah! What a throwback. 'I shan't say any more, or I shall spoil the next story.' That really takes me back. Thoroughly enjoyed this one, particularly the mixed feelings the characters had at the end.
This is the moment i realise that the final ep of this batch will be out the day after my birthday. And then Frank gets out 5 days before my birthday, couldn't ask for more. This is the perfect way to start series 2.
This is a very interesting start to the new season or half-season. By the way, I especially love your new widescreen approach. I've been waiting for this kind of improvement.
For those demanding to know when the new models are coming, DO NOT ASK! If you do, the release date of said model will be delayed by a week! Please don't be a troll, and don't spoil our fun, and patience. Thank you.
I have to say, this episode was a masterpiece. From the clever TUGS references (talking mill, megaphone out a window) to little things like the way you tied in a real storm, the lovely Arlesdale crew (now with Frank, Olivia, and the Blisters all having their own roles now in such a unique way) with real factors that might occur on the Arlesdale and the Skarloey railway. And we get a new character to boot. Brilliant. An utterly fantastic way to kick off the second half of STMY:S2 and what will assuredly go down as a fan favorite episode (for me at least) while still leaving us hankering for another (which so happens to be three days before my birthday. Score!). Oh and by the way, a question; Atlas talked about his old "friends" from the MSR which he missed. Sounded like he said "Stanley, Andreas, and Roland or Rolen. Who was this Rolen?
+WildNorWester Very interested. Like I said before - great job and I'll be looking forward to the next ep. And another thing I forgot to mention; I have been LOVING the new soundtracks. Getting better and more realistic every ep. And with the models the way they are, I think you might be exceeding S6 standards here.
3:42, ha, love it ;D It's great to have the series back, quite the treat amoungst adjusting back to darker and colder days so to speak I had been wondering if Atlas was that old mill building, but I have to say the story did well to keep it shrouded in mystery until Blister gasped his name, instead of just, "Oh I knew it" The widescreen's doing wonders to the episode visually, and the camera work's become better to complement it :)
August 17th. It will be a date that will be remembered by the engines no doubt. I like the TUGS references of Vienna and Kraka Toa on his T-Shirts and the mega phone used by the station master.
From the downbeat of the opening title to the classic closing line of the TV series, I absolutely loved it! You do such an amazing job with all of this, and I'm really happy to see more material. Keep up the great work!
This was a very well done episode! I somehow had a sinking feeling that Atlas would be located somewhere else, but in the end, when we found out where he really was, it it made for a fantastic ending. Looking forward to the next two episodes for this month! Keep up the good work! ;)
Yay! I have been so exited for this! I feel sorry & happy for Atlas Sorry because he had to say goodbye to Rex, B1, B2 & all the other little engines But happy cause he gets too see his old friends, so exited for next episode!
Atlas’ model is really neat! I especially like his Sideplates and cow catcher being modeled from his time on the tramway. I really like his design as well, with pannier tanks, and an open cab.
Good way to start up Part 2 of STMY. It's good to see Atlas is still in existence, and I can't wait to see his backstory on that tramway and his future on the Skarloey Railway. But as for some parts, especially those that show the scenes of Bert as Charlie Hatt is talking with him, it looks like the smoke's gone a bit haywire.
Not entirely sure why, but I really like how the storm itself is more of just a catalyst for the episode, and it's moreso about the whole mystery of where Atlas is. I mean sure the storm itself does play a factor, but moreso just the aftermath than the the period the storm is happening. For some reason I really like that. Also enjoyed a fresh take on the "finding a lost engine" story. Them having unwittingly known where he was the whole time without actually knowing it was pretty funny.
Great start to S2. Always had a suspicion that Atlas was inside that mill; the same voice actor did voice both engines after all. I remember you saying "Last Straw" would be a game changer, so I really wonder if anything will happen to Fred. Especially given the fate of two certain Mid-Sodor engines....
Whoa. Old Mill and Atlas are one in the same!? I didn't see that one coming. I also didn't think he'd become part of the SkR fleet, since you said he was sent to another railway. Very sneaky there, Dan. Also, I love the new voice actress for Sigrid. She's made a great start. Welcome to the cast, if you're reading these comments now.
I've been watching this series for ages but only now as im rewatching i notice that fred is mentioned at 14:30 yet Atlas wouldnt know who he is yet. Still a great episode to have looked back on.
Great way to start the Second half of the Second Season! I really wasn't sure what this episode would be about. But it went very well. You really know how to write great stories. Did anyone else hear Atlas mutter something like 'Colin' after Stanley and Andreas?
I'm glad you're back! those first 7 months seemed lonely without your videos of STMY! 0:50 I think that crossing alarm might be a little disruptive to the dialogue! 13:39 i thought he would be just a boiler and nothing else!
Fantastic to see you back here. Really liked the little 'spoil the next story' part. Gives me strong reminders of the classic stuff. Hope to see more soon, but don't rush them, quality over quantity after all and this was most definitely worth the wait.
Admittedly I thought Old Mill MIGHT have been a certain rough riding Mid Sodor engine, just to throw us for a loop. A very nicely film story nevertheless : >
I have to say. I love that blue livery on Atlas. It suits him very nicely. Can't wait to see next week's episode and what other things are coming up in the series. Also, I searched Drollan on Google and I found it means a half-witted person, so nice characterization there.
Hmm... An overnight train from Arlesburgh to Crovan's Gate? How big is Sodor in your universe? Is it just a slow-moving train or is it a genuinely long distance?
Quite surprised by this episodes for a couple of reasons: -Didn't quite expect Atlas to be "Old Mill" (thought it was going to be someone else entirely). -The release of this video seems to be a day early, doesn't it? Anyways, can't wait for the next one to come. ;)
There's a bit of difference with the time zones, I think. I released the video at 6:30AM Australian Eastern Standard Time. That's still Friday evening in the UK and USA.
An excellent episode, Wild! Keep 'em coming! BTW, when REX stopped to take orders from the stationmaster through a megaphone, did anyone else immediately think of TUGS?
Wildnorwester you know when Bert talks about the dark days and the years it occurred between didn't the Arlesdale railway open in 1981 and bert says it opened in 1966.
I love the second version of Atlas (I mean what version?). He has two cow catchers or snow plows and he has side plates cloaking his wheels and side rods but not his pistons. He was painted bluish black. Also, his number 5 was taken away after Andreas's unknown or known fate and the Mid Sodor Railway closure.
Another lovely episode WNW. Mind you those after effects (New steam and smoke effects) Seem a bit excessive with new Trainz being about as such. I had several questions throughout this episode, all of which had been answered. I'm looking forward to seeing Duke, Falcon and Stuart's reaction to seeing their old friend again :)
I actually ended up turning those smoke effects off, after realising they were doing funny things to the steam. For instance, I was filming a shot where Duncan was just under a bridge, and it was putting his smoke next to his funnel instead of on top of it. It's also improved performance slightly.
Wonderful episode! Welcome back in business. Again, a privilege to be able to play the voice of Frank. :)
Terrier55Stepney don't forget EnterprisingEngine93 also has a good voice of Frank as well, but your voice of Frank is also good, Max. 🙂
Love the 'Tugs' reference with the megaphone out the window
Thanks :). I put that in there as a (literal) shout-out to the series.
+WildNorWester it's my birthday today! Amazing job!
Happy birthday!
+WildNorWester thanks! :)
YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY a new episode welcome back WildNorWester.
Ah! What a throwback. 'I shan't say any more, or I shall spoil the next story.' That really takes me back. Thoroughly enjoyed this one, particularly the mixed feelings the characters had at the end.
I thought Atlas' voice sounded familiar, true facts.
Man can't believe I have to wait for another week for another masterpiece...
This is the moment i realise that the final ep of this batch will be out the day after my birthday.
And then Frank gets out 5 days before my birthday, couldn't ask for more.
This is the perfect way to start series 2.
This is a very interesting start to the new season or half-season.

I think wildnorwester stated that clearly enough so I don't think that you need to restate it again
Mike Petersen I know he stated it on DA, and Twitter, but I don't think anyone on YT knows yet. At least, those who don't have DA, or Twitter.
He must need to because people continue to force Wildnorwester to do stuff no matter how much he tells people his condition
Kiara Oh I know. I was only trying to help him. Please don't pester me.
I didn't mean you. I was talking about the guy telling you that you don't need to repeat wildnorwester. Sorry if I offended you
I have to say, this episode was a masterpiece. That name is 'Drollan', a character we'll be meeting in the next episode.
Also, it wasn't a real storm. I made it up, but picked the date as being during a period of bad weather for the UK.
***** Yeah. I figured you were referencing Tropical Storm Katia at the time
That was a great little Tugs reference with the station master there :)
3:42, ha, love it ;D
It's great to have the series back, quite the treat amoungst adjusting back to darker and colder days so to speak I had been wondering if Atlas was that old mill building, but I have to say the story did well to keep it shrouded in mystery until Blister gasped his name, instead of just, "Oh I knew it"
The widescreen's doing wonders to the episode visually, and the camera work's become better to complement it :)
A lovely start to the series, I'm so glad I could be a part of it! I always love a bit of Mid-Sodor mystery in a story.
Hehehe, I love the Station Master's TUGS approach to communication. :P
August 17th. It will be a date that will be remembered by the engines no doubt. I like the TUGS references of Vienna and Kraka Toa on his T-Shirts and the mega phone used by the station master.
Love the TUGS reference with the megaphone
"I shan't say anymore, or I should spoil the next story." Ah, gotta love Railway Series references.
What a nice way to start the second part of S2 :)
From the downbeat of the opening title to the classic closing line of the TV series, I absolutely loved it! You do such an amazing job with all of this, and I'm really happy to see more material. Keep up the great work!

Really good way to start part 2 WNW! Really hyped for SI3D's new Frank model too!
Also I saw the tugs reference with the megaphone out of the window very clever very clever indeed
I was just about to mention that! LOL :D
Me too I was gonna mention the megaphone reference
Smudgerwoodenproductions 24 and the future
Drollan refrence
Smudgerwoodenproductions 24 wow
Smudgerwoodenproduct

That was the new particle effects in Trainz a New Era. I turned it off after I noticed what it was doing.
Glad to see your Sodor the Modern Years episodes. I keep watching for them. Love your work on the videos.
Not entirely sure why, but I really like how the storm itself is more of just a catalyst for the episode, and it's moreso about the whole mystery of where Atlas is. That was fantastic well come back wildnorwester I love it so far
Great story, Am so glad that the series is back!!!
So glad this is back missed it so much
Great start to S2. Always had a suspicion that Atlas was inside that mill; the same voice actor did voice both engines after all. I remember you saying "Last Straw" would be a game changer, so I really wonder if anything will happen to Fred. Especially given the fate of two certain Mid-Sodor engines....
A great start to part 2 of Season 2! The next episodes look promising!
At long last, the series returns.
I am happy with how this one turned out! Keep it up!
Hooray! Atlas is still alive!
YAY FINALLY THE SERIES IS BACK
A brilliant episode to start the second half of the series :)
Sent to another railway, then bought back to Marthwaite.
Would you voice Pip and Emma in my redubs?
Haha thank you, Rachel!
***** Heh, I guess I missed that in the flashback episode back in part 1.
Avery J That's ok.
brilliant, simply briliant, we kick into the second part of the series with a real winner :)
I'm glad your back and congrats on almost completing season 2 part 2 of your new videos.

That was 'Drollan'.

0:50 I think that crossing alarm might be a little disruptive to the dialogue!
13:39 i thought he would be just a boiler and nothing else!
Welcome back on Network Wildnorwester
I can look forward to Friday again!
Fantastic to see you back here. Really liked the little 'spoil the next story' part. Gives me strong reminders of the classic stuff.
Hope to see more soon, but don't rush them, quality over quantity after all and this was most definitely worth the wait.
Awesome story WildNorWester! I can't wait for the next one :)
Great to see your back making videos, and a great comeback may I add.
Admittedly I thought Old Mill MIGHT have been a certain rough riding Mid Sodor engine, just to throw us for a loop. A very nicely film story nevertheless : >
Good episode
"I saw one of my friends on the front cover of the newspaper..."
Oh! Dime for Trouble reveals this to be Ten Cents!
a very well made episode mate and its good to see atlas back and the megaphone bit was good i will be looking forward to the next episode

Welcome home Atlas :)
never se or hear him before, but i can't wait what gonna happen next
Loved this episode and greatly looking forward to the new series!
To be honest I kind of saw the mill engine being Atlas given the location of the Arlesdale line.
Yet another great episode, looking forward to the next.
omg unuploaded it on my birthday!!! awesome man!!!
I'm so excited for the next episode
OMIGOSH THAT TUGS REFERENCE!!!
I have to say. I love that blue livery on Atlas. It suits him very nicely. Can't wait to see next week's episode and what other things are coming up in the series. Also, I searched Drollan on Google and I found it means a half-witted person, so nice characterization there.
The definition I had said 'lazy', that was the intended meaning.
its a very nicely riten episode I am thinking that the next one is about atlas ?. its nice how charile hat showed his coulers as a presavationist .
My god. Another masterpiece Dan!
I love your videos so much, it's great that u are continuing the series
OMG ITS SO AWSOME I love you're videos keep making them
Finally ive been waiting so long but it was worth it
Awesome story, by my guess I would say that Altas will be SKR's #10 engine.
if you look on his DA page, you will see that he will be
Hmm... An overnight train from Arlesburgh to Crovan's Gate? How big is Sodor in your universe? Is it just a slow-moving train or is it a genuinely long distance?
Very nice👍! Can't wait till the next episode.
Quite surprised by this episodes for a couple of reasons:

GeebMachine
G'day mate!
;D
I'm curious… who did you think it was?
Yay! I've been dying for new episodes 😀. You've done a wonderful job yet again. I love the tugs reference to ^.^
I love the tugs reference 😂😂 nice touch
Have you seen the next episode, 'Last Straw'?
WildNorWester oh yes and i must say myself you are amazing with writing storys . Cant wait for your next story to be released.
Amazing episode
An excellent episode, Wild! Keep 'em coming! BTW, when REX stopped to take orders from the stationmaster through a megaphone, did anyone else immediately think of TUGS?
That was a deliberate (and literal) shout-out to TUGS.
Yes
love it !!! I am you biggest fan !!! you are the best !!!!
+WildNorWester so great to see your great work continues. I LOVE your work :)
Good day lad good to see you again.
What was it Atlas remarked about Stanley? Before he says "whom I wouldn't really call 'friends'"?
Amazing!! Splendid job WildNorWester!!!
I love it I am your biggest fan !!!!! you the best !!!
So nice to see you back! :)
Brilliant as always
Finally I have been waiting for this.
that was worth the wait
And all this time All
Atlas' old friend Ten Cents was down at brendem getting ready to go to a museum. Cool
Well I mean he was on his way to the museum.
been awhile glad your back
3:35 Nice Tugs reference there! LOL
Good start.
Wildnorwester you know when Bert talks about the dark days and the years it occurred between didn't the Arlesdale railway open in 1981 and bert says it opened in 1966.
6:15 is that Lego block or It's just brick block?
very well done!
great video, worth the wait :D
Yea the new episodes.
I love the second version of Atlas (I mean what version?). He has two cow catchers or snow plows and he has side plates cloaking his wheels and side rods but not his pistons. That being said, with it on with the diesels, they start to look rather like the diesels in the nitrogen studios! lol
Love the tugs reverence a megaphone out of the window i see you
knowing si3d it will be next year ;)
YES! This was AWESOME! Great job Wildnorwester. BTW, is there any particular reason why Atlas has a cowcatcher like Toby, Hank, and Flora?
Because he was running on an unfenced tramway. It's the same rule that gets Thomas into hot water in 'Thomas in Trouble'.
Ah, guess that clears it up Thanks Wildnorwester
That Blue Diesel Almost Looks Like Daisy
I never knew the old steam mill was Atlas?
