I’m in Grenada right now and rode this out. We are in the capital (St Georges) and didn’t get any extremely dangerous weather…but we missed the major winds by like 10 miles! Carriacou is only 40 miles or so from St Georges and the major hurricane winds extend 30 miles from the eye. We are beyond lucky that it wasn’t catastrophic here
A hurricane is basically a large tornado spread out for miles and 10's of miles from the center of circulation. If the storm is a cat 2 or higher and you are within 50 to 150 miles of the center of circulation you are in a world of life threatning hurt. If you are within less than 50 miles cat 3 or higher you need to be underground very well protected structure. The speed of beryl moving through the area is primarily why some buildings are still standing. That and the fact not a direct hit. If the storm had been slower say 10-15 miles per our slower no doubt nothing would have been left 50-150miles out from center of circulation. 150-250 miles out would be severe damage. You can't imagine what it is like to be in winds 90 miles an hour or higher sustained for 1-10 hours or more straight. It's an incredible amount wind power.
It used to dumbfound me to that just 2-3°F increase in temp could cause such significant changes in our weather. But when you multiply this by sq ft of area affected it seems the changes could be much, much worse.
@@KalEl7802 It is the scientists that are saying that this hurricane is unprecedented for this time of year because the water is warmer. It is not a theory that haarp is microwaving the water where these storms come from. Or maybe you need to do a deep dive on haarp.

Hello everyone, I'm reaching out for assistance in replacing my mom's roof that was torn off by hurricane Bryle in St.Vincent and the Grenadines. We're in need of roofing materials to restore her home. While I don't need cash donations, any help in sourcing or contributing towards roofing materials would be immensely appreciated. Thank you so much for your support!
You keep mentioning "climate change " as if it's something new. You do know that our Earth was originally completely covered by oceans ? Salt water much ?

Exactly!
That happens all the time; it's nothing new.I rarely hear Grenada pronounced correctly in the news.I'm not just saying that,I'm Grenadian!
Why can't Americans pronounce Grenada and Carriacou correctly - it's so annoying.
