Dalam rangka mendukung penguatan industri film nasional serta mempromosikan pariwisata Indonesia, KJRI Los Angeles terus mendorong promosi Indonesia sebagai lokasi syuting film studio-studio Hollywood.
Hal ini sejalan dengan strategi Diplomasi Ekonomi yang menitikberatkan pada promosi perdagangan, pariwisata dan investasi (TTI), mengingat berbagai dampak positif yang berpotensi dihasilkan dari produksi film internasional di Indonesia, a.l. promosi parwisata, eksposur talenta/insan film nasional; pemasukan devisa/pajak negara; serta memiliki multiplier effect terhadap perekonomian masyarakat setempat.
Sehubungnan dengan itu, KJRI Los Angeles bekerja sama dengan Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif/Baparekraf telah menyelenggarakan Familiarization Trip (famtrip) bagi Pelaku Industri Film Hollywood ke Indonesia dari tanggal 23 November s.d. 3 Desember 2020.
Para peserta diundang untuk berkunjung dan melihat secara langsung lokasi-lokasi potensial untuk pembuatan film Hollywood, termasuk di Kota Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Labuan Bajo, dan Batam.
Dari kunjungan tersebut, diharapkan Indonesia akan semakin dipertimbangkan dalam shortlist lokasi syuting potensial Hollywood, yang tidak saja menawarkan kekayaan alam, namun juga memiliki keberagaman masyarakat dan budaya, infrastruktur perfilman, SDM yang berpengalaman, serta protokol kesehatan COVID-19 yang aman bagi pekerja film asing.

In order to strengthen the Indonesian film industry and promote tourism, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Los Angeles is prioritizing the promotion of Indonesia as a potential shooting location for major Hollywood studios.
This is in line with Indonesia’s Economic Diplomacy strategy which focuses on the promotion of trade, tourism, and investment (TTI), considering the benefits that movie production may offer, including in promoting tourism, providing expoure to national film talents/crews, increasing tax revenue, as well as its many multiplier effects on local economies.
In this regard, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Los Angeles, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has organized a Familiarization Trip (famtrip) for Hollywood film professionals to visit Indonesia from November 23rd to December 3rd of 2020.
Participants of this program were invited to visit and see first-hand potential locations for Hollywood filming, including in Jakarta, Yogyakarta, Labuan Bajo, and Batam.
Through this program, we hope that Indonesia will be shortlisted as a potential filming location by Hollywood studios, which not only offers picturesque and rich natural scenery, but also diverse communities and cultures, film infrastructure, experienced human resources, as well as strict COVID-19 health protocols for foreign film workers.
