It's going to be big. Skipping the cost of a next-gen console for an additional $5 a month over a PS Plus / Xbox Live subscription, or for no cost at all if 1080p+ resolutions don't matter to you. Based on the Project Stream test the compression and lag won't matter to the majority of the gaming audience that don't watch Digital Foundry videos.

With Stadia and streaming specifically, you have even less than you would with digital purchases like from Steam or GOG, since they are streaming the contents straight to your computer, television through the weird dongle or to your phone/tablet (probably through an app). Atleast with digital purchases, there is something tangible on your computer (files, installers, etc.) instead of the nothing you'd have with Stadia...because that's the point of it. It's supposed to be "convenient", but in reality you are giving up a ton for this so called "convenience". I can stomach digital games as that's pretty much the only way you are doing any PC gaming these days, but Stadia is too far over the line for me personally.
Another problem with this is that if google takes a game off their servers for whatever reason, then that's it, you can't play it anymore. Compared to having a game actually downloaded or on a disk, where most of the time you can keep playing even when the publisher/developer stops supporting it.

But for online comp? No, not even a little bit plausible. Currently there's only fiber and copper sending signals. They'd have to change all the wires around the globe to fix latency issues. A signal can only travel so fast. They can't increase it no matter what the POTENTIAL of the actual Stadia is, they can't speed-up natrual laws. For it to work like I said they'd have to change the wires to something that can send signals faster. Just won't happen. At least not yet.

If I remember right our brains can process an image in about 13 millisecond the moment light hits our eyes. (1000ms In 1 second) most consoles are running at 60 frames/images per second. So what I think is being said is that Stadia is able to process or stream these games faster than 13 milliseconds.

Stadia will have it's uses. The hardcore are gonna hardcore, but not everyone wants to (or can afford to) own 2 consoles and a PC. If they solve latency this could be dope for people who travel, those who don't want to upgrade consoles every few years, and those who aren't generally into the "nerdiness" aspect of gaming. It may start off niche, but there's def a market for it.

from what i can understand....... they are "selling" a console.. that nobody has, they are running the games on their servers and streaming them to your device.... and you play... that sounds great on paper, but i can already see the totaly not "faster than my eyes transmit to my brain speed" especially if there are online games, that have lag anyways

So you need monthly subscription + pay the games?. Sounds more expensive than playing on plataforms and I mean you can play your games offline on the consoles/pc even without the online subscription, but you cant stream your games on Stadia if you dont pay the subscription.

Believe me when I say we're all waiting for that game to become a reality, including being announced, even as a teaser, for this incoming E3.
Stadia will have it's uses. The hardcore are gonna hardcore, but not everyone wants to (or can afford to) own 2 consoles and a PC. If they solve latency this could be dope for people who travel, those who don't want to upgrade consoles every few years, and those who aren't generally into the "nerdiness" aspect of gaming. It may start off niche, but there's def a market for it.

@@aspreedacore It's a service. Base level is free to access games at 1080p 60 fps but you have to purchase the games. No word if they will honor games you already bought on steam, ps store etc. The paid service is for 4k 60 fps access plus you get select "free games" every month.
@@randomcharacter6501 watching videos 1080 or higher full screen seems to drop the franerate or look less smooth to me despite me having a $2000 desktop computer so i might not go for the paid service and thanks
