First heard a demo from these guys in the late 90's through my friend, they were early in their careers here in Sweden at that point.
Saw them live for the first time after their reunion back in 2007 or 2008, and have come back to their music every once in a while ever since.
Really glad they got back together and started playing again.

Then one day while driving home from school with friends, one of them put this album on. That's when I realized that everyone in my scene was just trying to be At the Gates. lol

@@killout18 I used to believe very much. But two years at an evangelical bible college ruined me. The more I studied, the less the bible made sense. I'm incapable of having faith, even though I want it very much.
The only thing I can accept, at this point, is the Calvinist view that God has created me to be destroyed. I'm the vessel for trash in Romans chapter 1.
Edit: To be clear, I think there is a God but I also think all religious texts are deliberately flawed in order to frustrate people like me. So I don't know what parts of the bible are true and untrue. And neither does anyone else.

Patrik Berglund is a Swedish hockey player going through some mental health issues. Many Swedes do. Dead from Mayhem is another.
@@myquest666420 yea its very sad, and if u live here for a while, and are somehow a free thinking individual, life is just sucked out of u by a controlling and almost totalitarian system and the abiding and uniform way of thinking of the masses.. plenty of hypocrisy in the swedish way of life, and i believe its part of the problem regarding depression and mental health in this country. The vibe here is almost sterile, and the true “family” is the “state”, no wonder many feel alienated..

@@ganondorfdragmire7886 Yes, precisely. 0-000-0 represents a triolet (or triplet) isolated between two crotchet. When the main riff starts at 0:18, those are the first notes you hear. It's the backbone of the whole album's rhythm. It's sometimes referred to as ''alternate picking'', which basically means combining upwards and downwards strokes. It's one of the things that make At the Gates' sound so special. Cheers!
