  • Dr. Tony Evans discusses the importance of honoring God with the first fruits of our wealth, as described in Proverbs 3:9-10. Putting God first in our finances is not about merely giving to receive blessings, but about recognizing God as the ultimate source of all we have.

Mr Evans I know that your doctor Tony Evans. I am a single individual person and I hope that you get this message you have brought so much joy in my life. Through God's grace his mercy and his blessings has brought me to listen to you and that is true joy in my life. You do not know me but I hope one day God will show you how much you've taught me you've brought me closer to God and in my faith he will show you one day. If there's anything I can say to you we have all made mistakes in our life no single person is perfect other than Jesus Christ that's walked this earth please please please do not give up on teaching the gospel. It is so important in the days that we live in to teach God's truth and you are one person that I know without a doubt that he has put you in that place. To preach and tell everyone the truth about him meaning God and his word to not let the devil stand in the way of that. He allowed pride to silence him vs believing and trusting that nothing that can be said about him can separate him from the love of God. His confession would uplift so many to see him face the world. Unless what he’s done is so deplorable that not even all of man’s understanding could make him confess it.
I pray for him, his conscience and his ego that he may realize that God will forgive whatever he has done if he repents and never does it again.
Can he not stop doing it? If so, let every tongue confess. I’ve confessed that I’ve sinned some of the worst things in my life that at the time didn’t even realize was sin and some I did and did it anyway. I have allowed one of my sins make me feel unable to start going live out of ego. I’m going to base my journey on getting the courage to confess it boldly that I have been redeemed!!!!

I'm from Kenya and came across Pastor Tony 's sermon in 2019 while working at Barclays bank (now ABSA) upper hill branch. This happened when I was really yearning to know more about God and searched for Deep knowledge about God on TH-cam and that's how my christian spiritual life and knowledge changed since then. May God grant Pastor Tony many more years on this earth to continue preaching the powerful gospel and the truth as he's always done. I love you and your family Pastor Tony ❤

Praying for you but please do not feel obligated to give a tenth to your church before giving to your family (Mark 7:11) and (1 Timothy 5:8). I was there once. I love Dr Evans but tithing is not a Christian obligation. It was the tax on the children of Israel so that they could give it to the tribe of Levi. Most pastors don't tell their congregation this which I learned when I actually read these verses and studied the subject.

It isn't God. It is the preachers that tell you that you MUST tithe to a church. Christians are not required to tithe to a church. We are required to give. The tithe was a tax on the children of Israel for the temple so that they can give that to the tribe of Levi. Dr. Evans is wrong here and so are many other pastors that teach about first fruits. Read (Mark 7:11) and (1 Timothy 5:8). You should serve the Lord and not the church. Try giving what you can to the poor $1 or 2 to someone asking for change here and there instead of feeling obligated to tithe to the church. See what the Lord does in your heart and how he blesses you..

A Pastor shouldn’t be a millionaire by members tithe money🤷‍♂️. I know tithe should be applied strictly to God’s ministry. But I will keep doing what am doing. We both are in the same situation

My understanding of the passage is that when you reap the fruits of your labor. Like a paycheck or a life achievement. The first thing that God wants from us. Is how can I use this to bless someone else in his name. How can I use this to minister to someone in need. God wants us to grow his love, mercy and blessings. Now I'm no where I need to be when it comes to this. But I try to use my blessings to help my co-workers, family, friends, and neighbors. Using pay day as a reminder is great way to get in the habit of putting God's work 1st and it really should be something that we all do. But I also listen and look for ways to help. Maybe a co-worker looks like they can't afford lunch or needs a ride home or whatever it is. Try and be that blessing to them. I hope that this helped.

    • @goodfellabeats
      @goodfellabeats 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

You are not required to give to tithe to the church. The tenth was a command for the children of Israel and do not apply to Christians. We are required to give but not to tithe. You can give to your church and to others (and you should). But you are not obligated to give a tenth to the church. The tithe was a tax on the children of Israel to take care of the tribe of Levi. If we are required to tithe we would also be required to do the other things in those laws that appear in those verses which means we need to visit Jerusalem 3 times a year.
As a follower of Christ you are required to give by not out of obligation. Nowhere in the NT are you required to give a tenth. It disappoints me that a pastor I respect like Dr Evans would not tell a congregation this.

    Luke 22:31-34
    New International Version
31 “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
    Hebrews 12:27
    New International Version
27 The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken-that is, created things-so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
    Means to me that...
GOD will turn evil into good and the devil will be working in Jesus Bless Name to shake the world out of us...
Then we can strengthen our relationship with the LORD and continue to help our brothers and sisters.

I love Tony Evans but everyone who is reading this please read the verses he is referring to for yourselves. We are supposed to give and not obligated to offer a tenth as Christians. For years I believed that if I didn't give a tenth I was robbing God but then when I actually read the books and verses that pastors have been referring to it is clear that this particular commandment is not for us but for the Israelites.

I understand what you are saying but I don't have a problem giving the 10%. I just live with the assurance of Malachi 3:10. It's an investment my defendants and I will reap later. Its nothing compare to What God does for me daily. Does it really matters though if we are Israelite? What about Galatians 3:29 "And if we be Christ's, then we be Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise" All the blessings of Abraham belongs to us. God bless you 🙏

    • @goodfellabeats
      @goodfellabeats วันที่ผ่านมา

@@sheea-anngray-valentine7376 Thanks for your comment. The chapter is about God calling his children to do what he commanded. To do all the things He told them to do that they were not being done including tithing so that the Levis would have an inherentence. It was a tax. If you take this commandment, we Christians would also need to visit Jerusalem 3 times a year because it is within the same set of commands and part of the thing the Israelite weren't doing.
To answer your question about Galatians, its not promises its the promise of Abraham. There is only one promise: the promise of redemption by faith and the promise of the Spirit. The redemption is through his heirs and a kingdom. Since the children of Abraham failed to follow the Lord, that kingdom failed.. Now we who have the Spirit living inside of us are a part of an invisible kingdom. Thats what we inherent through faith. The entire chapter is about that one promise. It isn't about promises made to the Israel throughout the scripture. Thats why the author says "the promise" and "a promise".
If you feel comfortable giving 10% that's great. I encourage it. However, it is not required and God is not obligated to give back anything financially if a person does.
      Praying for your well-being.

@@sheea-anngray-valentine7376 Thanks for your comment. If you feel led to give 10% that is great. I encourage you to give what you feel led. But Malachi 3:10 isn't a promise to anyone but the Israelites. That is why there are som many people who tithe and still struggle to pay bills. The book is about the children of Israel not doing what God told them to. That includes tithes. Its a call to return to him.
So if that promise was for us then you shouldn't give that money to the church. You should be giving it to members of the Levi tribe. They have no inheritance Num. (18: 21, 24). God actually commands that tithes go to them. So if Christians tithe but not to give to the tribe of Levi they are not honoring God's command. Which is why tithing is never mentioned in the NT for us.
If you read Galatians 3 you will notice that the entire book talks about "the" promise or "a" promise to Abraham and his seed. Not promises. The promise is that God will make a great nation/kingdom by which he will redeem mankind. Since the children of Abraham failed in honoring God, we, the people who have the Spirit that was promised, inherit "the promise". We are now a part of the kingdom by which God will redeem mankind. The whole chapter is about that one promise given by faith. It really isn't about promises made in the OT that we now inherit.
I hope you will look into this more. I'm not discouraging you from giving.

It's hard for us all to know all of God's Sovereignty? We all have had some sort of a little lie that been whispered in our ears, that, it seems so real we just go with it. And may I say, respectively, no one is absolutely without sin. Please sir, come back and show that devil, God's grace is stronger than any of our sin we ever commit. I love you brother❤️🙌🙏🕊

    DISADVANTAGE: an (inferior) condition.
In the early 1960’s, America was considered by many to be a superpower nation in terms of its military capabilities. It had the most powerful and sophisticated weapon systems in the world. Due to America’s advanced technology in weaponry, the majority of foreign nations had made it a point to avoid any unwanted conflicts or territorial scrimmages with the American military….. in particular the much smaller (inferior) nations that were fewer in numbers and weaker in strength to be able to defend themselves against a superpower nation like the United States.
It was around that same time in the early 60’s when America had voluntarily engaged itself in a gruesome war with a small third world country called Vietnam. During that period, it was not uncommon for an American citizen to believe that a powerful country like America would have any problems destroying its enemy forces….. but as we all know, history has revealed to the world that the American citizens were proven wrong in their misguided belief that their country was practically invincible. Who would have BELIEVED that the U.S. military would have been OUTWITTED by an (inferior) third world country with a limited supply of antiquated weaponry, which had ultimately lead to a humiliating defeat for the U.S. military. The U.S. soldiers were brutally assaulted and shamefully defeated by the Viet Cong’s ability to HIDE themselves in plain SIGHT while launching a plethora of surprise attacks. Those stealth assaults on the U.S. soldiers had caused the soldiers to struggle with their morale and courage. They could no longer maintain their intimidating presence on foreign soil, because they were fighting in an unfamiliar environment that had made it almost impossible for them to pinpoint where the enemy forces were attacking them from. The enemy’s strategy had put the American soldiers at a HUGE DISADVANTAGE, because they were (unable) to SEE exactly where the enemy was HIDING and waiting to attack. The viet cong soldiers had simply outwitted the American soldiers by taking away their ability to locate and IDENTIFY them in the thick lush jungles of Vietnam.
You see?……it is the strategy of the enemy to HIDE the biblical TRUTH in plain sight of the professing Christians. If they continue to (allow) themselves to be deceived by false information, then they are foolishly allowing themselves to be placed at a huge fighting DISADVANTAGE, which can be very dangerous in spiritual warfare. Now that we have been made aware of the enemy’s crafty devices, we can now successfully remove his (only) ADVANTAGE of HIDING the TRUTH from our spiritual eyesight. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has GRACIOUSLY warned us to not allow ourselves to be stuck in a huge DISADVANTAGE by allowing ourselves to remain BLIND and IGNORANT to the enemy’s strategies.
    📖 2 Corinthians 2:1 📖
Lest Satan should get an ADVANTAGE of us: for we are NOT IGNORANT of his devices
According to the Apostle Paul, our biblical KNOWLEDGE of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is the very thing that provides our MINDS with the revelatory LIGHT, that enable us to SEE and understand the true meaning of ETERNAL LIFE (John 17:3).
    📖 Corinthians 4:4 📖
The god (Satan) of this age has BLINDED the MINDS of unbelievers, so that they (cannot see) the LIGHT of the GOSPEL that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
The enemy will (always) try to HIDE a FALSE narrative under a cloak of Godly righteousness whenever they are presenting themselves before an audience of desperate people. That is how they are able to succeed in putting millions of professing Christians at a huge DISADVANTAGE when it comes to receiving the biblical TRUTH.
Please remember dear friend, that the (only) person who will lose EVERYTHING in this spiritual war, will be the person who is void of the biblical TRUTH and understanding. (Hebrews 10:26).
May the Lord’s Grace, Peace, and Heavenly Joy be upon you and your household, God bless ❤️🕊❤️🙏🏾🕊🙏🏾❤️🕊❤️

learn the truth of the tithe...What does the Bible say about tithing?
To tithe means to give ten percent. The Old Testament Law commanded the Israelites to tithe (Leviticus 27:30-32; Numbers 18:21-28; Deuteronomy 12:6-17; 14:22-28; 26:12-14). However, when people ask the question, "What does the Bible say about tithing?" what they are really asking is: "Does God require me, a Christian, to give 10% of my income to the church?"
The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, has a lot to say about giving. So, pastors should not avoid the topic of giving/tithing. But, the pressure put on pastors to encourage giving has resulted in many abuses and misinterpretations of what the Bible says about tithing. Some churches have walls that annually picture the previous year's top givers. Some churches require members to provide the church with a copy of tax returns so the church can verify 10% giving was achieved. Some preachers emphasize tithing to the extent that it becomes a legalistic requirement for salvation. Some pastors are quick to pronounce any financial difficulties as evidence of a lack of tithing.
While pastors should never allow financial need to impact biblical interpretation, it is understandable when it happens. When there is a lot of pressure on a pastor to raise money for the church and/or when a man's ability to provide for his family depends on his ability to get people to give, it is a tremendous temptation to go with the interpretation that would conceivably encourage more people to give, and to give more generously. Sadly, though, many pastors who know that Jesus fulfilled the Law, and understand that the New Testament does not teach tithing, still preach tithing as if it was a biblical requirement for Christians. This should not be. We should preach the Word accurately and rightly (2 Timothy 2:15; 4:2), and allow the Holy Spirit to do the convicting.
Most churches/denominations at least encourage tithing in some sense. Ten percent seems to have been adopted by the Christian church as the standard for giving. Most who propose tithing do so based on the Old Testament Law. However, if the Old Testament Law is the standard, 10% is not the correct amount for biblical tithing. The Old Testament Law required multiple tithes. If all of them are combined, the Israelites were required to give nearly 25% of their income.
But, ultimately, the Old Testament Law is not relevant on the issue of Christians tithing. Jesus fulfilled the Law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:23-25; Ephesians 2:15), and that includes the laws on tithing. The New Testament teaches giving (1 Corinthians 16:2; 2 Corinthians 9:7), but other than being mentioned in the context of discussing the Old Testament Law in Matthew 23:23, the New Testament nowhere else even mentions tithing. There is no set amount of recommended (or required) giving in the New Testament. Christians are to give generously, sacrificially, and joyfully. But, in the freedom we have in Christ, there is no biblical tithing requirement for Christians.
So, what is the biblical message on tithing for Christians? If God is leading you to tithe, by all means, tithe. But, tithing should never be viewed as a legalistic command. Giving is an aspect of the Christian life, and all Christians should give. But, again, there is no set amount. Having a set amount would be easier, for sure. That's what makes legalism so attractive. The Christian life is easier if we just have a checklist of things we have to do. God calls us to live a life of faith, and part of faith is sacrificial giving.

You can say the first fruits is a principal if you like to I would agree with that, but in God‘s new testament economy, I will Goodland is Christ we live in Christ, we dwell in Christ we produce Christ so if you wanna give God something give God your portion of Christ to share with God and the church your experiences of Christ is what you feed people today. One seed was the children of Israel, and they got the promised land. which was a physical land, which they worked on. They gave the produce from the land and they offered it to God.
