Scriabin - Prelude and Nocturne for the Left Hand, Op.9

Vadim Monastyrski returns to the Small Hall of the Saint-Petersburg Philharmonia after 30 years for a solo performance commemorating his birthday.
Scriabin composed this piece shortly after he injured his right hand while learning Liszt's Don Juan. The musical style of the piece conveys late romanticism and is uniquely lyrical throughout.
