Juleru when you have 3 dozen people at your house you're not gonna have enough glasses for everyone so it's easier that way
Thanksgiving 2020 I cooked my first solo thanksgiving.
The kids cleaned up.
The next day my daughter stated she threw out all the dark meat because she “didn’t think anyone would want it”.
I burst into actual tears.
2020 was hard.

We had an early family Thanksgiving dinner today, and I’ve never had an easier, faster food prep for a thanksgiving meal! I think we were done within an hour. Granted, people had done prep beforehand, like thawing and seasoning the turkey (and we put it in a timed oven before we left town for church-that made me nervous but my dad was certain the oven would turn off, & it was all fine when we got back).
I feel like I’ve seen this one before...

a tip for anyone, but especially moms:
bake and cook AHEAD OF TIME so you’re not going crazy. like- make ur mashed potatoes or whatever and them put them in a glass or oven safe dish to warm up the day of. prep ur pies!! just leave them in the freezer or garage (if it’s cold enough) green beans? make a casserole out of it and cook it the day of. you can do stuffing like that too, and then cook and stuff the turkey the day of. stuff like veggies and sauces is really easy to warm up too!! like to save a life this year
