Thanks my grandfather was from Jhang and we were called as Jhangi. And yeah my ancestors also migrated to Delhi, and they used to speak Punjabi and could read in Urdu too. My parents still speak in Jhangi, which is basically Punjabi with slangs from Jhang.

My nana and dada both were from Multan. My Dadaji was from laiya district Multan. My Dad was born there and was only 8 days old at the time of partition and when my dada dadi had to leave everything and migrate to India. They were so wealthy but they couldn’t carry anything with them. So they had to burry gold and silver bricks in their fields thinking that one day they would return. My dadi used to talk about her youth and those days in Pakistan till she died. She was born in Baluchistan. We have lost so much. Hopefully one day I will get a chance to visit Multan and see my ancestral homeland.
I am from Layyah and it's one of the most beautiful and fertile districts of Punjab having the Thal desert to its east and the mighty Indus river to its west. Initially it used to be a tehsil under district Muzaffargarh but was given the status of a district somewhere in the 80's probabl. My nana and dada both were from Multan. My Dadaji was from laiya district Multan. My Dad was born there and was only 8 days old at the time of partition and when my dada dadi had to leave everything and migrate to India. They were so wealthy but they couldn’t carry anything with them. So they had to burry gold and silver bricks in their fields thinking that one day they would return. My dadi used to talk about her youth and those days in Pakistan till she died. She was born in Baluchistan. We have lost so much. Hopefully one day I will get a chance to visit Multan and see my ancestral homeland.
I am from Layyah and it's one of the most beautiful and fertile districts of Punjab having the Thal desert to its east and the mighty Indus river to its west. Initially it used to be a tehsil under district Muzaffargarh but was given the status of a district somewhere in the 80's probabl. The mention of Layyah (spelled this way) made me surprised and I really wish that you could visit the city, even more wishful that I welcome you there someday. Greetings and love❤
