The waterfall you have seen is called athirapilly which 2nd largest after Niagara. The dances shown are kathakali, mohiniyattam, thayyam and kaikottikali. Pookalam (which you mentioned as Rangoli) is an important part of Onam celebrations. It is a cultural festival for all malayalees.

The trees shown at the start are Coconut trees and not Khajur. Also they are harvesting Rice, not Wheat. Kerala is a high rainfall state with a moist climate and so Rice is grown there. Rice also forms the main part of the diet of the people from Kerala.

Kerala State language is Malayalam. It has many temples where hundreds of elephants are reared and looked after by the temple administration. The name Kerala is derived from the Malayalam word Keram which means Coconut and Kerala is known for Coconuts. In Kerala they use Coconut for most of the dishes and they use only Coconut Oil for cooking purposes also. They also apply Coconut Oil to their head after bath.
