  • Yup that's right! $12K plus some after it was all said and done LOST, GONE, POOF, SEE YA!! Some have never had an issue with F&M Expressions, but they sold us one of the biggest fails in our 12 years of business. The WORST Heat Transfer company to deal with and it about did us in. From the google reviews it looks like nothing has changed, shame on them. Make a better product, not sure why it's that complicated there are issues in their formula. Thanks for watching!

      Not a problem and very much appreciate your support. Like I said some have good experiences, ours was about the worst you could get. But they are still selling transfers, and employ a lot of people. Look art versatranz.com as well much better people to deal with.

    I appreciate this video and taking the time to share your experience with them and business advice in general. I agree with them being liable for refunding the transfer amounts since they seen an issue with the batches prior and still sent out the transfers. Also they should’ve refunded the money for the t-shirts since their product ruined them. I dont think they should be responsible for your labor cost though. I was hoping you said after that experience we went full auto screen printing for all our future jobs.

    These things happen when ramping up and workers are rushing to meet demand and not checking every 5-10 shirts for quality assurance. It could be the heat platens got dirt build up and didn't press it certain areas and nobody bothered cleaning or some other reason entirely. It could have been avoided with a QA system set in place. I've had my share of screw ups.

    Did you check if the transfers had the cracking before pressing them on the shirts or did the cracking happen after pressing them on the shirt? I Got samples from FM Expressions and just by testing the samples and doing wash tests I passed on them. I always use Transfer Express.

  • @JamesLMcLain

    Just wondering: did you press a few shirts and examine them BEFORE you pressed all the shirts? How long did it take for "the flaws" to show up?

    • @TheSignGuy
      @TheSignGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We've done full color prints before this big order and did not have an issue. This batch that was bad we pre-pressed the shirts at temp to remove any moisture/wrinkles then apply as F & M instructions like we've done in the past. The shirts were boxed from us and when he removed them from the box he noticed the cracking. So the shirts were in a box for about 10 days before he brought it to our attention if my memory serves me right.

    I’ve never done shirts and I only do regular & dimensional signage using wood and/or sign foam but I charge about 5 times material cost or 125 dollars a square foot. (Whichever is higher) I was thinking that I’m under priced. How do you price your signs?

    • @TheSignGuy
      @TheSignGuy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm done with shirts and apparel, never again lol.
      We are about the same when it comes to finished (out the door) signs. Some more some less, because I sell at a set price online I have to account for my design time and keep it within a certain time frame. The materiel cost is mostly predefined, so my variable is design time and shipping cost. ACM about $60 a sf, MDO about $100 a sf and HDU about $125 a sf there are variables but that is my rule of thumb for rigid substrate "signs".
      Although I fell like I'm charging about all that market can take one one side, it seems like someone will always do it cheaper.

    had no issues with their plastisol transfers. However, I have heard the same thing with their full color. Supacolor is by far the best, for full color. Any issues I had, I took photos, and showed them and they sent out new supply right away.
    Topp Transfers can make good plastisol transfers however their customer service sucks and never answer anything when it comes to issues. and they have now, a ton of issues. they have pinholes across all their prints.
    Stahls makes great presses, but their screen print transfers rubbed off, and tons of comments about it coming off in wash.. They were quick to give money back after showing a video of pressing it
