@@ty_ellender LOL. I traded mine about 20 years ago towards some studio time. But yeah... Acrolite is the name. To be fair... the Acrolites and the Student Snares may actually be made of different materials. I still have my old 60's brass ludwig. The spun one....albiet painted to hide the pitting chrome. Great vid dood. Fun to watch but as someone who has to work the snow... I ain't playin in it too.
Crazy how this is in my recommended right after running hi-hat, snare, and kick only drills for fast DNB. I am a beginner though who hasn't watched a single tutorial so I learnt a lot more from this vid than I did in an hour of playing amen breaks from ear...
Thanks, glad you liked it! Video is with a GoPro, audio is actually with my iPhone, through Voice Memos. I literally set it on the ground like 5 feet away, imported to Logic and Boosted the levels, especially the bass, then added the keys, etc.
@@WarerBrow Yep! The weather was crazy, so there was no way I was bringing mics out there, had to improvise. Besides the wind, I was actually surprised how good it sounded
Loved that pic of the sous chef throwing the snowball. This too. Seems like it was a fun time !
Yeah I saw that too, very cool! Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it 🥁
Those old student snare drums actually do have a solid tone. Almost like the brass snares younger cousin.
Yeah definitely, those old Ludwig acrolites sound great!

@@ty_ellender oh, so that's a super ultra fast and improvised setup! No wonder it is so susceptible to wind...
