Love the width of the one that got away changing with the story. You have inspired me to go back to my birth place and hook one of these monsters. Many memories in the Salt Fork area. JGLM83
Oh man watching you try to clear that second Rod and seeing you get all tangled up and that fish was jumping yeah that’s chaos alright. OMG ! That second fish was a monster, what a heart breaker! Looked like a 4 footer plus to me, at least we got a quick look at it in the water. You have been having some really good days chasing after Muskies Kyle ! Keep after em.
That was some crazy action Kyle !!! Holy crap man I was right on the edge of the toilet seat watching that first catch get tangled , awesome job getting her in the boat . Beauty trip bud thanks for taking us along
that was a cluster ---- trying to net that muskie. Nice catch and great job of getting through that and him into the net! Love the setup with the net though!! Clipping on the other end of the boat. That loss hurt kyle, even more that the hook broke off the lure!
That was a really goodun !!! We loose them , thats just the way it is ! I lost a bass that was worth 1k last weekend .......... I instead got a pat on the back ! 🤣
I would still call that a two fish day. That Musky was all of near 50 inches. She was thick! Making me want to take a ride to a Musky lake! It has been to long. Great Job Kyle!!
Thanks Jon. I don't know if it was a 50, but that's definitely as close as I've gotten to one! Stings as if I'd had anyone with me she would have been scooped!
Great video Kyle. Man that hurts to loose a big fish like that, but that's what keeps you coming back for more. Question, why do you have the tip of your rods in the water when trolling?
Thanks Steve. When trolling there is often weeds and other miscellaneous debris floating on the surface, and they will follow your lines down to the lure and foul them. By sticking the rod tips in the water the rods catch the weeds and keep them from going down and fouling the lure.
I am just starting with Musky fihing and just placed my first order for lures. I am lucky and did not even realize it because every lure I bought was made with a through wire. Again I just got lucky because I had no idea at all that would be anything to even wory about. I live 10 minutes from CJ Brown and that is where I'm going to learn.
Nice video sucks to lose one like that but that’s why I like to have a partner when musky fishing. That bait had some small hooks on it those decent musky sill tear them up git to replace theme with a better grade hook for sure. I probably replaced hundreds of hooks on my musky baits for that reason. Nice!👍
I think the hooks were fine, but that bait is made of balsa which is not a strong wood. I guess I didn't even realize they weren't thru wire. I won't be buying anymore of those! lol It does sting that had I had anyone else with me that fish could have been scooped for sure!!
Thanks Sam! Tough way to lose a fish! I had caught 2 fish on that lure and she was the 3rd to eat it. It was 30 feet back right in the prop wash. I don't know if it was 50, but that's definitely as close as I've ever come. Sadly, if I'd had anyone in the boat with me she would have been scooped!
A deep v that is 14 to 15 feet long is a good place to start. You could get a 16 footer or bigger if your budget allows for it. Look for a used boat that has been well cared for to get you started!
That first net job looked like the type of cluster I usually end up in. 😂
@@benwilkey2060 haha! I always manage to get the 30 somethings in the boat! It’s the giants that always out duel me! 👍
@@Dark30Outdoors you probably would’ve had that one with a second guy if he was a good net man.
@@benwilkey2060 Oh definitely!

Yeah, she was a thick one for sure! Good luck out there!! 👍

Great Day Kyle , I’m so glad you at least got some footage of that beast ! 👍

Another good day even with a heartbreaker on the second one! Hard to believe the lure failed. Thanks for taking us along for the action 👍

$1000 fish! Ouch!
I would still call that a two fish day.

You should had me netting ,i could have be m your net man.!!!
Anyone could have netted the fish at least twice. lol

Wow, that big one was a monster. It's a shame the lure broke.
There's always a next time to try and catch that fish again.
Thanks Chris! Heartbreaker for sure!
I wonder if Piedmont lake is producing
Not sure.
Longer they are on the line more chances of them spitting the hooks. Sucks that it happened
She tore the hook out of the lure! lol

Yeah, this one was tough for sure!!

Man what a heart break. That looked to be all of 50. Have you been having most of your luck on the DB6? Thats a deep running bait.
What size boat do you use/reccomed? I'm looking into getting a boat for fishing capable of taking myself and most likely a passenger out on the water
A deep v that is 14 to 15 feet long is a good place to start. You could get a 16 footer or bigger if your budget allows for it. Look for a used boat that has been well cared for to get you started!
Looks like you need a hand there.
Sure would have been nice to have a net man along!
Damn!! Sorry you lost the big one bro. Salt Fork, home of Bigfoot and big Musky
Thanks! I think I saw a Bigfoot while driving in to the lake that morning!
It's tough fishing solo
It certainly is!
It happens to all us musky guys😢.
My last video I made last week,I lost a monster tigermuskie 😢
Always tough to lose the big ones!
