- I have made this quilt style many times in many sizes. It is such a fun way to use up and play with scraps.
The layout options are endless. And because it is raw edge applique, it looks SO GOOD when made into a larger block. I love it when it frays after you wash it. You can enlarge the pattern easily. It's a great gift to give a cuddle hug to someone you love.
I love playing around with this block. I hope you do too!
We have a FREE PDF available for the circles. The link is here:

...cookie sheet?...honestly - you are a genius....! LOVE your videos...I probably have mentioned that in other comments... would love some videos...more, on this type of project...also, walking foot quilting! That would be helpful too!
Thank you for your sweet comment!! I don't even own a walking foot - so that video is probably not going to happen at my house. I do love fun happy quilt videos though and we are working on several new patterns.
My new fav word "cornery"
I thought? Did I say that? Watched the video just now. Sure enough. (You made me laugh - since I didn't even know that I said it... until just now.) It's a rarely needed word - but I vote it should go in the dictionary!
Hot Diggity. What a pattern!
I love it too!

ooooh, I love how many variations there are for the same block! I like the bow tie-looking one, I may have to make one like that.🤩

I love these little quilts! I am a sucker for miniatures, and yours are great. “There’s just NO limit!” ❤
Oh! You should watch Julia Gahagan on youtube, as a guest on different channels, etc...she does miniature quilts, with overlays of tulle/netting...etc...and is so incredibly interesting to watch...I think JustHandsOn TV had her on a show on t.v., and it's on youtube now...I would google her in any case...

Hi Merry, Happy New Year! Your channel is wonderful, I’ve been quilting for nearly 40 years and sewing for even longer. I’ve learned so many tips and strategies from you, thank you. I’m wondering when you’re going to give us a tour of your quilting studio. I’m sure we’d all love to see where you create.
Soon - sorta. (More a focus on fabric...)
I rarely watch a video twice but I did this one just to cement what yo7re doing in my brain, ha! What a cute quilt you made! Definitely doing this one with the abundant scraps that j need to sew up. Ty❤
I watch her Organize My Scrap videos multiple times... just makes me so happy!
Love it!
Your videos make me think that even I could do this! Lol. So much patience!
You can do it!
😍 oh wow! Looks like i just found my next project!
Wonderful! It's a fun one!
I would love to see a much bigger version
Let's make one!! (They are beautiful!)
Oh this looks so fun!
I’m not sure what kind of machine you have but some machines come with a leg lift bar. It allows you to lift the presser foot with your leg keeping your hands free. It is just a little awkward at first but once you get used toit, it is so very handy. This is such a very clever idea. I happen to have a Sizzix die cutter with three sizes of circles. I’m thinking I’ll have to attack my scrap pile.
I did have a leg lift device on a previous sewing machine I owned. I liked it.
Circley and squarey---sounds like my kind of quilting!!! I just love your videos!
Thank you so much!
I just discovered your channel and love the idea of these circles, just as they are! How does it not fray and get raggedy over time? And what if you left the circles intact? Would you fold and trim the layers from the back? Im so excited to consider circles! Thank you! Looking forward to watching the rest of your videos!
The edges do fray a bit and ripple. THAT is the desired effect with this method. It's called "raw edge applique" and looks so great after it is washed and does it's thing. If you want to keep the circles as they are - go ahead!! I wouldn't trim the back. I'd just machine quilt. (Or you could sew buttons in the middle. etc...) The possibilities are endless. Leaving them as is looks great. You just wouldn't want to hand quilt through all those layers. Have fun!!
@@merrymabelmarket Thank you!
Did I miss the size of the natural block? What size are they for the miniature and for the larger quilt size?
Start at 4 inch for the one in the video. Cut down to 2 inch. When bigger? Whatever size you want. give yourself at least 3/4th inches bigger than the biggest circle. So that that outside edge doesn't get stuck in the seam.
I LOVE this, I have wanted to do one with larger circles but hate to pick colors. I’m really bad at the color part but I have several charm packs that would work for a mini. Thanks for doing this video!
Have so much fun!!
Me encantas tus tutoriales 😊,no puedo mirar muchos ,porque no sé por cual empezar 😊 me gusta mucho trabajar con círculos, y estos bloques quedan hermosos ❤
