Running outdoor karting tracks so would be interesting to know how accurately this picks up new tracks as I assume the data base will be on main circuits rather than kart tracks. Also will the unit remember the new track once learnt? Thanks
The SOLO II easily learns new tracks and you can then save them to your own database. The Mychron5 uses the same GPS system and the unit is specifically designed for karting. Supplied with a temperature sensor and has the capability to add many additional sensors. Sorry there is no release date just yet.
Can the device be preset to record split times for different track segments, or just the speed graphs as shown in the video?
You can setup sectors for split times or you can have +/- time difference live on the display.
Can you overlay the data onto a GoPro video?
I think you'd need AIMs smarty cam to overlay the data.
Looking for video to show how to see ideal/optimal lap times
Once you download the unit all the data is visible in the analysis software.
How do I turn this thing off after I’ve powered it on ?
SOLO2 turns off itself when it is not in use. SOLO2 DL is powered by the vehicle battery and it switches off with the vehicles engine.
