Dude...my shrink at the VA told me to find something that had no negative attachments... I skated back in the 80's/early 90's and loved it. So here I am, 46...6'2" 260lbs.Go to a local shop and build me a complete. Get home and take it out. 6 pushes in my achilles popped... Shit happens man Keep rollin'
Just keep going......you'll get there im 41 n just started skating in may so i know exactlyhow u feel.....just dont get discouraged, if u try something a bunch and its not working out like u want try something else for a while ........and for me lots n lots of stretching is a must.....
Yeah I need to stretch more 😂 thanks man. It’s a slow process back but I’m getting there slowly. I’m just having fun with it and want to take people along with me
Aye! Big ups man! Good job, you'll learn this shit. It just takes a lot of patience and perseverance. As a tip, you might want to put your front foot a little more back behind your front truck screws when you ollie. This way you have more pop and more time to land. You've almost got it, it's just that you seem a bit too scared of rolling your ankle. Stomp that shit, you got this.
I just got a complete a cpl months ago and started skating again at 38...I feel your struggle bro. I put on a bunch of weight since the last time I really skated which was before my 10 year old son was born...and yeah..skating is alot harder for us big boys. 😂
@@captredbeard757 hell yeah man...206 is a big loss from 220...I'm about 220 rn. I need to skate more...I've only really gone skating like 6 or 7 times since I got my complete at the end of June...def need to work on that. Anyways man I subbed to your channel..keep up the good work!
I’m 41 so I sympathize. And if you don’t want suggestions just ignore me… But I’m wondering if practicing more ollie variety might help. Maybe ollie over a crack and make sure you completely clear it regularly, then put a foot long piece of cardboard down and clear that, then maybe a piece of plywood lying flat on the ground and ollie onto that. I know when I try to ollie onto things I’m so worried about the back truck catching and stopping my board that I bail often. I can’t even ollie off a box yet, so congratulations on that!
Aye man whats your setup? I have a Chris Russell 8.6 VX Deck, 58 dragon wheels, Indy 11's for bowl and vert and a 8.35 Evan Mock Welcome board, thunder lights 2 151 trucks and some bones 100s. Are those the slimeballs man? How do you like them? I'm finding that the dragons seriously make it so I can skate longer. Idk what powell-peralta is doing but the dragons are crazy nice for us over 30 skaters! Give em a try!
Try to 180 up it, if something is too high for me to ollie, doing a 180 is less scary because you dont have to commit both feet at the same time. Counter intuitive but it makes it easy
I think you need a little more speed, a little more self belief, and a little better foot placement to stop your board from trying to flip. But, you got this. I can see it coming. Keep it up my guy.
Bend your knees more and don't pop till your like an inch away from the ledge. Practice olleing that high then hit it again. I try to just look at the ledge when I'm approaching and then send it
People here full of tips 😂 but the real tip is JUST COMMIT! You got the ollie, now you just need to commit. Oh! And get wrist protector, thank me latter 😁
