Ordinarily I don't like lights-on rides because it ruins the effect but this one - you can see the fall and it may be worse than the uncertainty of the darkness.
The kid (can't see them in order to say if it was a boy or girl) actually said "That is a mirror." Everyone cracked up because it was in response to one of the adults saying something is a mirror and, what I assume was an park employee, saying it isn't a mirror. The adults found it so funny because the kid was calling what the employee said b.s.
While I'd love to ride like this, it's good to know that even when the rest of the ride malfunctions, the elevator system still works. However, I'd be worried about dropping and then not stopping.
Seeing metal and concrete flashing in front of you instead of screen-projected special effects was much more frightening. If the lights ain't working what else is broke?
I had the opportunity to ride ToT with the lights on when I worked there around 2009 for the 20th anniversary. It was kind of cool to see what everything looked like, and the drops were definitely different, but I have to say, I like it much better with all of the effects. I also have ridden Rock and Rollercoaster with the lights on, which was cool. There are some definite head chopper moments in there.😮
Not knowing this ride (despite I believe maybe having been on it 35 years ago, when I was 5), I have no idea what's going on. It's normally just pitch black or something? Is there supposed to be scary mood lighting? Are the exit signs normally lit, or they off normally?
Random ascents and descents with no door interlock?! 😳 So *that's* how Otis UK are staying in business despite not having received any new orders for close to six years... 🛗🇬🇧😋
Somehow, that's scarier -- it's like actually being in a real falling elevator.
This scene without the ambiance, music and overall atmosphere is even scarier than the ride’s normal operation 😭🙏
Feels like you finna just keep dropping into the depths of hell
I prefer the original to be honest.
I don't know how I feel about this. On one hand, this would be awesome, but on another, no sound, lights on...truly terrifying!
@@cruiseabledreamstravel it's absolutely horrendous 🤣🤣🤣
@@cruiseabledreamstravel I could not believe how close the wall 😳
I’ve never heard so many nervous giggles before.
😅
same
I never realized it went up first. Always thought I felt it drop. A marvel of entertainment engineering.
@@ITL1377 It has multiple profiles. Sometimes it goes down first, sometimes it goes up first.

Free falling through a concrete building sounds horrific.
Then the creepy dummy just chillin and waiting for you to
I remember watching the video for this ride on repeat as a kid and was looking forward to this most then nearly cried getting on the ride. 😂😂
Even with lights on, I still get chills.
So crazy. I have a vid on my channel when the Haunted Mansion lights were on. Loved it.

And now we can see how they do the star projection that opens the "portal" into the shaft. Cool...
That random girl standing there at the end actually made me jump
It’s like a jumpscare but that probably won’t happen at some point
That's a cast member and yeah, she is ew
The dummy alone is enough to freak me out. It look like the eyes had moved.
@@garcia207 UM…WHEN I WAS AT DISNEY LAST TIME THE DUMMY WAS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROOM…
@@LochNessLegend so it did move!!!! Aaaaawwwwww!!!!!
That's actually a screen used dummy from one of the episodes where he takes over and becomes a real person and the host becomes a dummy.
That kid near the beginning "out of the mouths of babes" then everyone else laughs
Actually I’m pretty sure he said “It _is_ a mirror”
I don’t know why but when everyone was screaming then it went dead silent it was so funny to me 😂
This is so awesome!! TOT is my favorite ride ever
Alien Encounter was scarier so much that they closed it.
Mine too!
The “what is a mirror” 😂😂

Why is it that only Disney rides are fascinating with the lights on?
we had this happen the first year it was open, entire ride without the special effects, then got to ride again

think its worse with the lights on lol
I never think of lights on tower.
My daughter and I like to pose for the camera. Enjoy it even more when others are screaming.
Tower of Six Flags
Nice!
the ending made me scream
Can you imagine the trouble Jason would've been in for this version of the ride?!

man what a normal corporeal elevator i hope nothing kooky, mayhaps even terrifying is afoot
I’ll be able to go on this ride soon but I still hope it’s not bad at all

Is this the one in Hollywood Studios or used to be DCA?
Hollywood Studios, thanks for watching!
I'm confused, this looks like Disneyland, when was this filmed? Is it Paris?
It’s Hollywood Studios, Disney World, Orlando from a couple years ago.
@@DVC_Park_Hoppers Oh so this is after the 5th dimension? You've already moved into the shaft?
@@91JLovesDisney at the very beginning you can see where the star doors would be when closed.

ride is normally pitch black
FYI the ride has only been around for 30 years.
Man I really wish typo were in the back so we could see how fast the floors go by
What this drop shaft, Echo or Foxtrot?
Tower of boxes and squares.
Cool! I got on space mountain with the lights on once!
So cool!
So many comedians on this ride… 😑
Send to tpm!
I love you too ❤️😘
So, did they get to ride again?
unfortunately, not
i love you taylor bybee
?!
Why did you you record to the left in that dark open space that no one can see at the very end. Ughhhj
Something's missing.🤷♂
Yeah, and that's credit from MindfulHappiness.
its worse this way
