She was signed to Blackground Records at 13. The same record label as Aaliyah and Tank. They kept her legally bound in a 7 album contract. She release two successful albums and then the record label went defunked and lost distribution. She didn’t have ownership of her voice, and was in a legal battle to regain freedom for nearly a decade. Then she signed to Atlantic, and released and album there. Then went to Warner and started her own imprint called clover. This ep was her first Independent official release.

@ I feel you! I’m right there w u. She has so many projects available to listen to from official albums-to eps. Some of her albums were curated by the record labels, and although they sounded good, some things she actually wasnt really feeling. I think since she’s doing things more independently we’re about to get the old school EP energy she put out while she couldn’t officially release music.
