It's weird how every single Tame Impala song I hear has a delayed reaction where I'm just like "Ok, whatever" and it doesn't really hit me at all but then by the 3rd listen I like it better than anything by any other artist and can't imagine what life would be like withoutit
I don't what it is but I've had this reaction to so many Tame Impala songs and it's only his music I swear. It's like he knows that you won't understand it the first time, but once you get it you get it.
On the Spotify storyline, kevin says he imagines listening to this song at the beach in a windy night, and that’s what I did this night. It marks exactly one year since my grandmother passed away. And the part “do you remember we were standing here a year ago?” really hits me, I remember exactly a year ago standing here and crying so much.
Great story, so glad you shared! My condolences to you about your Grandmother, but glad that you also appreciated this song like I do!! Masterpiece and makes you think deeply and beautifully, cheers!😊

A lot of his best songs always have this sort of delayed graitfication. Like I remember hearing this for the first time and being like "eh its aight i guess" and now Im like "this is life changing"
Words cannot describe just how perfect this song is. I’ve never heard a song where despite the length, each second feels so original, natural, and just right. The percussion beat slowing fading in, the beat drop after “one year……from today,” the way the “Oooonnne moooorreee yeeeeeeeheheheheh” background chorus changes in rhythm during different parts of the song to match the beat better while also maintaining identity. Simply a masterpiece of a song.
this. it feels like the more time passes, the harder this song hits, especially after experiencing it live. can't stop listening lately, so entrancing.

That it’s hard to describe what you’re feeling now cause you put your everything into these songs and hope that people will bond with them. Thank you Kevin a million times over. Don’t normally leave comments but had to say that. I know I’ll be listening to them for some time to come.
idk about anyone else, but when I was sitting on my porch smoking and bumping the fuck outta this song in my headphones, I reached around the 2:50 mark and there was an ems siren in the background, winding up, peaking and fading away, just like this song ebbs and flows. it came and went about three times before fading completely away, and it was so surreal.
We are really all living in this moment. Nothing we can do about it, we just have to let life take us away. I'm glad I have this music to accompany me along the way ❤
