Stay with me on this; as it turned out, I think this song is a perfect vehicle for conveying INTERPRETATIONS. It can't be compromised well. It fends off attempts to become a vehicle for individual artists' styles and can only be well performed by those who can subordinate themselves to its perfection. The closer the artist's style is to doing that kind of interpretation, that is, letting their own style bloom naturally via this song, the better their version will be. I'm sad to say I am writing this without yet having heard Lotte Lenya's version. I hope to hear it soon.
That bass violin player is trying real hard to steal the attention away from the beautiful melody and words. In other words, he ruined and stole, an otherwise, perfectly sung song from a perfectly beautiful singer.
Interesting mix between Opera & Jazz Ballad, good try, far from the futuristic, percussion beat and Natural approach of Billie Holiday, 1944 version? by chance, can somebody upload this version?
A haunting and lovely version. It is a song of loss and you can feel it is this rendition.
Superb rendition of this classic.
Formidável, formidável !!!
Anne Sofie Von Otter formidable comme d'habitude ,version épurée , simple , essentielle .
I like it a lot!
... la perfezione : il senso assoluto della vita, esercitato in parole di puro canto ...
this version is so haunting. Love it!

Impresionante..... Su voz es preciosa!!!!!
Thear is an ICEBERG chilling the audience , 2 nordik
Delicioussssssssss!
Jumpin' jeezuz, this is just brilliant. Weill, Nash and the minor key so more real than the Broadwayised version.
Relax, forget some holy opinions, and you are ready to love it
I DON'T KNOW IF JULIE RECORDED THIS, BUT I KNOW SHE SANG IT IN HER PERSONAL APPEARANCES. BEST VERSION OF ALL IN MY OPINION.
Grande interpretação! Brilhante!

Take the base and wrap it round the player it is truly aweful and ruins the record.
You are a moron. The cellist is a genius!
Try to tune out the cellist.
Painful! And I am a huge fan of Anne Sophie Von Otter, but this is really horrible.
this is really horrible !!
Forget it and listen to real jazz.
